Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday) and you have until Day 7 (Monday) to
respond to your classmates. Your grade will reflect both the quality of your initial post and the depth of
your responses. Reference the Discussion Forum Grading Rubric for guidance on how your discussion
will be evaluated.

Rank order and justify, from 1 to 10, the top ten things you learned from this course.
Technological Integration-The key to expanding learning horizons and creating learning networks with
exposure to masses through teaching with technology.
Learning communities encompasses many groups that form larger networks with the capability of
transforming systems such as the education paradigm.
Online collaboration- I think online collaboration promotes learning in groups which in turn support
learning communities and knowledge sharing
Student centered-learning- Student centered-learning is the target of successful innovations that
promote online collaboration and technological integration and a trend away from teacher-centered
learning.
Asynchronous learning -student-centered learning based on flexibility of scheduling and empowering
student to do research and collaborate on ideas through technology over distance and time
Synchronous learning-Synchronous learning offers audiovisual instruction in real time which makes
the relationship between student/teacher more humanistic yet through technology. Offers direct
instruction and feedback bdep-endi8ngb on the choice both technological tools/software.
Post model- The post model is a microscopic look at the internal dynamics that may represent
change implementation through online technology and social networks thus learning at this level
supports technological integration
E-books-E-books may be considered as a strategy to reach a market niche that prefers reading online as
opposed to a hard/soft copy book. E-books have instructional utility in college curriculum/textbooks.
Personal Learning may occur at anytime, anyplace but in this day and age the internet is used to search
topics and become literate on the chosen subject. Personal Learning can support more formal forms of
learning when students/learners continue to learn about subjects that were once part of educational
instruction.
Informal Learning- supportive of personal learning and empowering learners to create ones own
avenue of processing information and building technological frameworks in classrooms.
Innovative disruption-An important element of change but may be considered as risky, burdensome
or unnecessary yet when organized innovation disruption is managed successfully it produces high
yields of return in new learning.

Harvard Business School Professor, Clayton Christensen and colleagues have studied the market
effects of innovation and the process of innovative practices. This work led to his study and publication
in 2008 of Disrupting Class and why technology has not created a revolution in our public school
system. His hypothesis is that companies and institutions have great difficulty innovating because of
the power of their current market share to protect the status quo, or are unable to adapt to changing
technology.
The growth in online technology is his primary example of the disruptive forces that occur when non
customers will settle for less than perfect technologies. And through this shift in market share, the
technology is improved and overcomes the existing technologies. Apple Computer and Sony are prime
examples of how the green screen computers given to the non-customer, the family and school markets
and Apples development into the industry standard. The result is that large main frame manufacturers,
such IDAC and IBM no longer exist or compete in their original markets.
Will the current classroom suffer the same fate as the IDAC and IBM main frame? Explain what will
cause this shift that will transform them or what will stop the shift and cause things to remain the same
