Mr. Wolff,
The Howard Terminal is not a factor in these negotiations. The City of Oakland, the Council and I, deeply value the
Oakland As. We are hopeful that we will be able to reach a mutually beneficial agreement.

Ms. Parker: We have not met, but I know you have met at least once with my President and in-house
attorneys.
For reasons that I can only speculate on, there is a constant emphasis on a fiction ( based on real and
meaning full analysis )
that Howard Terminal is a possible development site for the As. That sound bite contention is false. I
prefer not to
engage is straw man matters, but concern was expressed to me that perhaps you might be weighing
Howard Terminal
as a basis for your deliberations. I enclose some correspondence that pertains to Howard Terminal that I
was simply
fine with just communicating to the party that seemed to seek to cloud our negotiations. We have fully and
carefully
researched Howard Terminal and that location is rejected for very finite reasons. As it appears that we may
1

be at a total impasse (and after 14 months I, respectfully, am not willing to consider any further
negotiations nor is
Major League Baseball as I and MLB have to address where we will play, and not continue discussions that
seem never to cease.
I am truly sorry for the circumstance, but I have 130 employees in Oakland and employ (I am told) 800
Union
Employees during the baseball season. I will not move out of the Bay Area, and will, to the best of my ability
seek interim facilities at sites outside of the city of Oakland that we have preliminary researched.
Thank you for any attention you afford this note.
Lew
