What we suggest :

Whether a person is rich or poor. Every person cleans his house regularly.
Well this proves that we prefer cleanliness. Then what is the reason that our
streets, cities, our country is not clean? We would like to tell you that our
municipalities spend a huge part of their budget on waste disposal. What if
our municipalities do not spend such a huge amount and earn instead from
this waste? not just that, every household can earn money and our country
can become clean and beautiful? Is this possible?
Yes,this is possible. We are going to tell you some really interesting facts

The waste that is dumped in the dumping grounds and on the streets
and everywhere eats up all the plants and trees, animals. This waste
causes gyneacological disorders(such as abortions, birth to
handicapped children), produces smell, etc.

What we cell solid waste management, has now become a dirty

business. There is corporate fraud happening here.

Yes,this is possible. We are going to tell you some really interesting facts :

Firstly, this is important to separate dry waste(wrappers, plastic, glass

bottle cardboard etc) and wet waste ( left-over food). Then the next
directive is that wet waste should be given treatment using different
techniquesand don't throw it away. Unfortunately, no one follows this
basic rule. The fundamental principle to deal with the waste is
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. If we do this we would not need landfills or
dumping grounds.

There are 10 to 15 techniques by using which we would not see any

waste. One such example was in Mumbai,India, where a waste was
thrown in a dumping ground for 30 years. This huge mountain of waste
had all types of waste materials i.e. wet waste and dry waste. The
process to finish all this took 60 days with the hard work of Birju
mandra and Dr S.R. Maley's scientific acumen. They sanitized the waste
and only used natural products for the sanitization, as the use of
chemical products can cause dangerous diseases. Then they used
enzymes of bacteria because waste contains protien, cellulose, sugar
and fat. The bacteria will eat/destroy all the waste instead of making it
toxic. They spread some flies because the fly plays a big role in
composting the waste. The flies and the bacteria worked together and
made the dumping ground clean and clear surface of soil in just four
weeks. Only plastic, paper were left on the ground and was sent for
recycling. This process to clear one hectare cost 9.7 lakh.

In the world, 90% of waste handling is done by composting (khaad).

Because the compost(khaad) is a balanced plant food meaning it is a
balanced diet for all crops. If we make this compost consdering how
much waste is thrown in our country, its economic profit is in billions
anually. This compost(khaad) can make the Barren land (banjar
zameen) in balochistan fertile land. What we call waste is actually a
great resource.

Another example is again Mumbai, india, where a lot of wet waste (leftover food ) is produced in a college canteen. But instead of throwing
away that food they save the left-over, rotten food. Abio-gas plant has
been installed at the backyard of this canteen. The left-over food is put
in the plant after some processing. This canteen uses the gas produced
from the left-over food to cool the food again. The name of this plant is
'Nisargruna' , which means repaying the debt of Nature. It is profitable
too. The technique used to assemble this plant has been developed by
Dr. Sharad Kale a scientist at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre.

Again in India, a scheme was started in Varangal, where people were

motivated by municipal officers to take part in composting waste and
using waste in bio-gas plants. Moreover, every school organized events
for children to do the same and all the students participated
enthusiastically. Today, Varangal is maybe the only city where you can
not find any waste, garbage on the streets.
