COURSE CODE : 110 PART PROGRAMMING FOR CNC MACHINES


The course is intended to provide the basic knowledge to programme CNC machines manually. Part Programming for 2 axis lathe &
trainer lathe and machining centre are dealt with. Participants are required to write programs and prove the programs of simple
components on the machines available at CMTI. Systems like FANUC, SINUMERIK, HEIDENHAIN are dealt with. The course will be
useful to organization who have NC or CNC machines and intend to programme their parts manually

COURSE CODE : 0120 CNC PART PROGRAMMING THROUGH CAD/CAM (UNIGRAPHICS NX 7.5 SOFTWARE)
The course covers manufacturing of a product through Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) system. Generating CNC programmes
through high end CAD/CAM Systems (Unigraphics) for 3-Axis machining centers and turning centers. Participants generate the tool
path and post process the same suitable to a particular machine and CNC System combination. The output is CNC part program.
Hands on exposure will be given on a CAM system and for part cutting on machining centers. The course provides demonstrations on
multi axis (5 axis) machining centers and exposure to tooling systems and CMM.

Computer Aided Machining (CAM) software is a tool for generating programs from CAD models for metal cutting machine tools with any
controller. CAM tools are used for quickly programming the parts and also for solving problems in machining multi-axis components.
This course covers basic concepts from modelling of parts to CNC program generation for 2-Axes Lathes, 3-Axes Machining Centres, &
3-Axes Wire EDMs using Master cam X5 CAD/CAM tool. Hands-on training will be given to participants on

EOS GmbH, Germany. The EOSINT M250 laser sintering system generates 3D part directly from CAD data. The prototype parts are built
up in thin layers by local sintering of metal powder using a computer controlled laser beam. The 3D metal part / rapid tool obtained from
the machine are suitable for tooling industry.

Finite Element Analysis is a numerical tool used for the evaluation of structures and systems, providing an accurate prediction of a
