INSTALLING THE CATALOGUES

Select a language from the drop-down menu and

click OK.

Click Next on the Install Assistant Welcome page.

You must accept the METADOC licence

catalogues.

catalogues will be installed.

If you select another destination, the catalogues
must be installed to a folder named "METADOC
(e.g. C:\my documents\metadoc)

Click Install to start the installation.

A status window will show how far the installation

When installation is complete click Finish to exit

the install wizard.

INSTALL THE APPLICATION

You will be asked if you wish to restart the system.
Click No to continue the METADOC installation
procedure.

Click Yes when asked if you would like to install

the DOTNET component.

You must accept the terms of the end-user licence

agreement to proceed with the installation.

Use the scroll button to read the terms of the

agreement in full.
When you have accepted the licence agreement,
check the I accept box.
Click Install to start the installation.

The installer will begin installing DOTNET. The

installation progress window will appear.

Click OK to finish the DOTNET installation

procedure.

D INSTALLING ISOVIEW

Click Next to install ISOVIEW.

You will be prompted to select a licence type:

Click on IsoView Distribution Kit.
Click Next to confirm and proceed with the
installation.

You must accept the ISOVIEW licence agreement

to proceed with the installation.

Use the scroll button to read the terms of the

agreement in full.
Click Yes to accept the agreement and proceed
with the installation.

In the next dialog box that appears:

Enter RENAULT AGRICULTURE as the User
Name and Company Name

Click Next to confirm and continue.

Choose a destination folder where ISOVIEW will

be installed.
The Installation program will suggest a default
folder. Click Next (2) to install IsoView to this folder
(recommended).
To select another destination:
Click Browse (1) and select a different
destination folder where you would like IsoView to
be installed.

Click Next to proceed with the installation.

You will be prompted to give the ISOVIEW licence

path and click OK.

NB: Enter the ISOVIEW licence path.

The licence is located on the
METADOC CD under \APP\ITEDO
(default address: D:\APP\ITEDO).
Click OK to continue.

Metadoc

Click Finish to complete the installation.

The METADOC installation procedure is now

complete. You must restart your computer before
you can use METADOC.

INSTALLING METADOC ON A NETWORK

GENERAL PROCEDURE FOR INSTALLING METADOC ON A NETWORK:
Install on the Server terminal:
Install METADOC (application and catalogues) on
the server.
NB: When installing METADOC on a network, the
catalogues must be installed on the server before
the customer stations are installed.
Install on the customer stations
Install METADOC on each customer station by
running the setup.exe file; this file is located in the
folder containing the catalogues.

e.g. if the catalogues are installed on the R:\ server,

the installation file (setup.exe) will be in the
following folder: R:\METADOC.NET\App
The installation wizard will then look for the location
of the catalogues automatically.

FORMATTING METADOC

Once METADOC has been installed it must then

be formatted.
When METADOC is run for the first time, the
window shown opposite will allow you to select the
stock control tool you wish to use, if necessary.
Confirm the Preferences window.

Click OK to restart the application.

CONSULTING THE CATALOGUE

SEARCHING BY SERIAL NUMBER:

If you know the tractor plate number (serial

number), Metadoc can automatically direct you to
the corresponding catalogue and show you the
tractor type.
NB: The automatic search function will find your
tractors original set-up.

1. Select the Search by serial number option.

2. Enter the tractor serial number.
3. Press enter to confirm.

Metadoc will then show the following information:

Type of tractor e.g. 4552 ATLES 946 RZ
Catalogue ref. e.g. PR 1628
Click button A to start the search for this tractor.

Selecting a component
In field B, type in the number of the component and
confirm or simply click the component number
using the mouse.
You can use the arrow buttons C to move between
different assembly drawings.

Labelled icons show the functions for which a
component is used.
When you click one of the icons, Metadoc will bring
up the appropriate page in the catalogue based on
the serial number that was entered earlier.

Browsing through the assembly

The four browser buttons C allow you to move to
the previous or following page of the selected
assembly.
The advantage of this browser system is that it only
shows those pages that match the serial number
used to conduct the automatic search. This avoids
you scrolling through pages that are not relevant to

To find out which parts you are looking for in
METADOC are available in stock click the Enquire
about stock availability icon to have a link to
your management software package.

To determine the criteria used to choose a

dimension, you must indicate the main technical
data to search by. To find this, look at the criteria
available in A and on the drawing and then give the
value.
For example, for the BEARING family
Search criteria: the bearings internal diameter.
4. Check the choose a dimension box.

Adding comments to the TRACTOR PLATE:

You can click button D to add comments linked to
the tractor plate, e.g. details of alterations to the
tractor.
Button D will be yellow if comments have already
been entered. To remove comments simply delete
them from the Comments window that appears.
To come out of the Comments, click outside the
window.

When one of the tractors component parts is
replaced, it may be that a different serial number is
used.
If so, a comment must be added each time.
e.g. GBA20 gearbox number M063302 on tractor
8221120 replaced by GBA20 gearbox
number M064000.
ALL THE INFORMATION IN THE PAPER CLIP ICON OR IN THE MODIFICATION FIELD
WILL BE LOST WHENEVER THE CATALOGUES ARE UPDATED BY CD-ROM.

Creating a comment example:

comment for the tractor number just
entered.
3. Click Confirm.
4. This will activate the Modification tab.
5. Replace serial number M063302 by
M064000.

Automatic searches on this tractor will now use

the new gearbox number.

Comments that are no longer required:

Remove unneeded lines by deleting.
When lines are deleted, the results returned by the
Automatic Search function will be based on the
original information.

Replacement level (A)

Level 1: Fully interchangeable. The new reference
can be fitted in place of the superseded reference
as a straight swap.
Level 2: The new reference can be fitted in place
of the superseded reference in all cases.
The superseded reference can only be installed on
tractors that were originally fitted with this set-up.
If the PR includes "After" and "Up to" details, you
must use the recommended set-up.

Level 3: Same as level 2 but with additional items.

Level 4: Extra equipment required to fit the level 3
replacement part onto a tractor that has the old
set-up.

CATALOGUE UPDATES
UPDATING CATALOGUES OVER THE INTERNET
An update is made available every two weeks.
U The updates must be downloaded one at a time
in the order in which they are issued.
There are 2 ways to start the
UPDATE procedure
Click the update button on the METADOC start
page

Or

Open the file menu and select the Update

option.

Next, click the button next to connect to Internet

to begin downloading updates

U Whichever method is used, you must always

check that METADOC is not running on any
computer that uses the catalogues database that is
to be updated (e.g. a network configuration).

The Internet access connection window will then

appear. Enter your username and password and
connect to the Internet in the normal way.

Typical Internet connection window

Enter your METADOC updates login* name and

password* and click OK to confirm. Alternatively,
you can click Cancel to stop the update procedure.

Click the Update METADOC icon

The right side of the screen shows
which update you are about to
download and the latest update
available for download.
The system downloads the updates one at a
time.
If you have more than one update waiting to
be downloaded you will have to repeat the
process until your METADOC computer is
fully up to date.
On the screen shot opposite, the right side shows
that the next update waiting to be downloaded is
number 259, and that the METADOC database
will be up to date once this one has been
downloaded.

Read the warning and then click

Do not accept the default Save
option;
Instead, click Open followed by OK if

NB: This will start the download
automatically and the update will be
saved in a special Updates folder
located in:

Download progress window.

If a warning message appears, click

Once the download is complete, you will be

returned to the METADOC start page.
Close the Internet page and restart METADOC.

UPDATING THE CATALOGUES ON A COMPUTER THAT DOES NOT HAVE

INTERNET ACCESS

When you have finished downloading the updates to a

computer with Internet access, open the Updates
folder in Metadoc.net.
Copy the file(s) from the Updates folder on the host
computer to the Updates folder in the computer that is
to receive the updates.
Run the update by double-clicking in turn each update
file that has not yet been run (file type
METADOCXXX.MTDC, where XXX is the update
number).
The update files MUST be run in order.

Aide aux dpannages du programme METADOC

Mise jour des catalogues
Aprs la phase de tlchargement de la mise jour du serveur Claas sur votre PC, choisir ouvrir ou
enregistrer.
Accepter le contrat de licence.
Ensuite apparat une fentre doption de la mise jour.
Toujours laisser cocher les 2 options : Optimiser la base de donnes et Crer une copie de
sauvegarde de la base de donnes.

Optimiser la base de donnes (option par dfaut) :

Loptimisation de la base de donnes permet damliorer les performances aprs les mises jour.
Cette action est recommande :
Afin doptimiser les performances du programme, vous avez la possibilit de re-compacter la base de
donnes aux heures o vous nutilisez pas METADOC.
Pour cela ouvrir lapplication et aller dans fichier \ recompactage.

Crer une copie de sauvegarde de la base de donnes (option par dfaut) :

Toujours cocher cette option qui permet au programme de gnrer une copie de sauvegarde qui vous
permettra de basculer sur celle-ci en cas de plantage dune mise jour.
La copie de sauvegarde est en mise jour n-1.

ERREUR
En cas de problme lors dune mise jour des catalogues ou si vous avez le message suivant : Mise
jour des catalogues avec limpossibilit douvrir METADOC.
1- Aller dans le dossier DataBase sous le rpertoire Mtadoc.net (chemin : disque local
C:\Metadoc.net\database). Si vous avez laiss coche loption faire une copie de
sauvegarde , vous trouverez 2 fichiers de base de donnes.
2- Basculer sur la copie de sauvegarde en renommant le fichier METADOC.mdb en METADOC.old.
3- Renommer METADOC_save.mdb en METADOC.mdb
4- Relancer METADOC, puis supprimer le fichier METADOC.old.
Le programme va toujours chercher et utiliser le fichier METADOC.mdb

MISE EN GARDE
Avertissement concernant la version d'application minimale de METADOC.
Vous devez tre la version 2XX (264 dans notre exemple) de l'application suivant les mises jour
diffuses. Si ce n'est pas encore le cas, reportez-vous au paragraphe "comment mettre jour votre
application" pour les postes sans connection Internet.

Avant une dsinstallation complte du programme METADOC, dplacer le dossier Update sur le bureau

Ce message apparat lorsque vous avez un problme sur votre fichier Mtadoc.mdb plusieurs
possibilits :
- il a une double extension, ex : Metadoc.mdb.mdb. Vous pouvez faire lerreur avec
Windows (2000 ou XP) qui naffiche pas directement lextension. Ce fichier se trouve
dans le rpertoire : C:\Metadoc.net\database.
PS : Vous pouvez visionner lextension en slectionnant le fichier puis clic droit \ proprit.
- le fichier a t effac ou dplac par erreur (utiliser les fonctions de Windows pour faire
les recherches)

Ce message apparat lorsque le fichier fr.xml dans le rpertoire Lang est incorrect, contacter la Tech
Line et envoyer une capture dcran afin que nous puissions corriger la ligne concerne.
un fichier fr.xml correctif vous sera envoy et sera intgr dans une prochaine MAJ de lapplication.
Copier le nouveau fichier dans le dossier
C:\Program Files\METADOC.Net\Lang et craser le fichier existant.

ERREUR
Ce message apparat uniquement lors dune recherche automatique. Il arrive quand la traabilit du
tracteur est incomplte. Suite ce message, remonter nous le N du tracteur et une capture dcran de
la planche concerne.
Utiliser la recherche manuel pour trouver une rponse a votre requte.
