Supported End User PC requirements for both HTTP

(java free) and UCF (java) WebTop
The stated versions/settings have been tested and certified to work in the KBR
environment. Any version outside may work, but are not supported by KBR

1 Hardware Requirement

2 GB RAM (Recommended)

2 Software Requirement

Internet Explorer 9.0 (Note: only 32 bit IE9 version is tested in KBR
Environment) for Windows 7 SP1

Internet Explorer 8.0 for Windows XP SP3

Internet Explorer 7.0 for Windows XP SP3

JRE 1.6.0_27 recommended, Supports All 1.6.0_x JRE versions except

1.6.0_21 through 1.6.0_26 (Note: only 32 bit JRE versions are tested in
KBR Environment)

3 Firewall Settings:

Open firewall to allow connections to *.mykbr.com, *.kbr.com and

*.mwkl.co.uk (if blocked)

Open firewall to allow access to port 443 for SSL

4 Browser Environment Configuration

4.1

Cookies must be enabled in the browser

4.2

Launch Internet Explorer

Click on Tools Internet Options Privacy Tab Scroll down to
low to enable cookies.

Add *.myKBR.com, *.kbr.com and *.mwkl.co.uk to trusted sites

Launch Internet Explorer
Click on Tools Internet Options Security Trusted sites
Sites
Uncheck the check box Require server verification(https :) for all
sites in this zone

In the Add this Web site to the zone box type *.kbr.com,
*.myKBR.com or *.mwkl.co.uk and click Add

4.3

Change Trusted Site Security to Medium Low:

Launch Internet Explorer
Click Tools and select Internet Options.
Click the Security tab.
Select Trusted Sites and click Custom Level.
In the Reset To list select Medium-low
Click on Reset Tab and Click OK
Re-start Internet Explorer

Check Automatic prompting for file downloads is enabled:

Launch Internet Explorer.
Click Tools and select Internet Options.
Click the Security tab.
Select Trusted Sites and click Custom Level.
Scroll down to the Downloads section.
Check Automatic prompting for file downloads is set to Enable
Note: For IE9 this option is not present.
Click OK
Re-start Internet Explorer

5 Pop-up blocker Settings

5.1

Add *.myKBR.com, *.kbr.com and *.mwkl.co.uk to allowed sites for popup blocker:
Launch Internet Explorer
Click on Tools Internet Options Privacy
Click on settings under Pop-up Blocker and add *.myKBR.com,
*.kbr.com and *.mwkl.co.uk to the allowed sites.

Re-start Internet Explorer

6 Proxy Server Settings

6.1

Uncheck the proxy server option

Launch Internet Explorer
Click on Tools Internet Options ConnectionsLAN Settings
Uncheck the proxy server.
Note: Uninstall any third party toolbars e.g. Google, Yahoo. These
toolbars have additional proxy and pop-up blockers that may
change or interfere with your browser settings.

End User PC requirements for UCF(Java webtop) and Drag & Drop
functionality

7 Permissions required on End User PC

Users require Write permission to the following folders.
Note: For Full functionality including Trouble shooting UCF and Drag n
Drop Issues, Users require Full Control to the following folders.
Windows XP:
For UCF:

C:\Documents and Settings\XXXX\Documentum\ucf

For Drag & Drop:
C:\WINNT\Downloaded Program Files

Windows 7:
For UCF:

C:\Users\xxxx\documentum\ucf
For Drag & Drop:
C:\Windows\Downloadable Program Files

Note: Where xxxx is the UserID

If the user does not have write access to the ucf folder and does not have
admin rights on their PC, they should contact their IT department for
assistance and during interim can be directed to the javafree version of
webtop.
UCF content transfer mode requires the supported Sun JRE 1.6.0_27 on
the client machine. If a version of JRE other than 1.6.0_27 is present, the
application will attempt to download a private copy of the required JRE (

Approx. 80 MB in size) in the users UCF folder mentioned above and will
be used only for Documentum. If there is NO JRE installed on the client
machine, the private copy will not be downloaded and WebTop throws
UCF Timeout errors
7.1

Verify Browser JRE version

Launch the below URL to verify JRE version used by the Browser.

7.2

You should see the version used by the browser in the rectangular
colored box as shown below.
If version 1.6.0_27 or higher is installed we recommend you try to
work with your already installed version before attempting to
downgrade.

Only install 1.6.0_27 version if not already installed.

Installing 1.6.0_27 JRE

Copy paste the below URL in IE Browser and launch it to access

the java SE Runtime Environment 6u27

Scroll down the page and select java SE Runtime Environment

Select the Accept License Agreement and download the jre6u27-windows-i586.exe and install it.

Note: Once you access the above URL,and locate your download, you
will be requested to Sign in with your Oracle account, if you do not have
one please click on Sign Up link to create a free Oracle Web account
and sign in with your credentials.

7.3

Turn Off Auto Download

(recommended)
By default Java automatically installs updates. Because our systems
are not certified/supported for newer versions it is highly recommended
that auto download be turned off. At a minimum, users should be
instructed to decline any requests to update the Java.
Go to Control Panel and double click java icon to open java
Control Panel.
Go to Advanced Tab and expand JRE Auto-Download and select
Never Auto-Download option as shown below.

If you have multiple older versions of java then you will see an
additional update tab in the java control panel as below, uncheck the
Check for Updates Automatically in the Update Notification.

8 Autovue security settings

If the user sees a dialog box stating security concern when running
Autovue, the following Security setting applied.

Go to Control Panel and double click java icon to open java

Control Panel.

Go to Advanced Tab and expand Security and then Expand

Mixed code security verification and select Enable hide
warning and run with protections option as shown below.
