Loop Isolators, Loop Splitters and Repeaters

The OMNITERM LPI ,LPX, LPR, LPS are current repeaters specifically designed to
isolate instrument current loops from circulating ground currents that can cause system
inaccuracies, or at worst, instrument failure. The current applied to the input is repeated
on the isolated output, and the load present on the output is reflected back to the input.
No separate power source is required. The OMNITERM LPI,LPX,LPR,LPS are designed to
be DIN rail mounted.
The LPI is optimised for lowest volt drop over 4-20mA, while the LPX is optimised for use
with an extended current range from 0-50mA and load impedances down to zero ohms.
The LPR is used as a loop repeater using a separate 24Vdc supply to give more load
driving capability, The LPS is a loop splitter with separate 24Vdc supply and coverts one
loop into 2 output loops fully isolated from the input and each other.

close to the primary sensor as possible and will operate from a 12-45V dc loop voltage
providing a 4-20mA loop signal on a low cost twisted pair or instrumentation cable, thus
providing the benefit of savings in installation and cable costs (particularly thermocouple
compensation cable). 1500V isolation between the input circuit and output current loop
eliminates ground loops on the input wiring which would normally cause inaccuracies in
readings. The inherent characteristics of a current loop provide high noise immunity thus
ensuring minimal induced error signals.
