The recollection ended
with a Holy Mass celebrated
by Fr. Myson.
The way of the Cross followed shortly as everybody
gathered to remember Jesus'
journey to Mt. Calvary. The
solemn Way of the Cross was
a long and hilly climb from
one station to the other but it
was little a sacrifice compared
to what Jesus did for His people.
With hearts more attuned
to the holiness of the week,
the members went home
after the dinner fellowship
which ended the Lenten activity.

Chapter Decorates the Carro of Santo Entierro

On its 9th year of serving
the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, the intercessory Ministry
members joined in by other
members of the community
joyfully decorated the carro of
the Sto. Entiero on
April 6, Good Friday.
Each year new faces are
added to the volunteer members who come early to the
church grounds at Pajac, LapuLapu City. Of course we have
the mainstay who come to
help or bring snacks.
With many hands and heads
working joyfully together, the
task of coming up with a beau-

tiful carro was easy.

Under the guidance of master decorator Ate Nimfa
Aballe, this years flowers were
the color of muted pink and
pastels. Flowers and foliage
which we have seen for the
first time were at our disposal
that morning. Who would not
praise a Creator that great?
The group finished the task
past 12noon very happy and
fulfilled over the work they
have done.

Giving their best for the Lord

by His death on
the cross... the
ancient curse due
to the sins of
Adam and Eve and
our own sins today
was removed from
us, once more we
were made children of the Father

Last April 8th, 2012 we joyously celebrated the resurrection of our Lord Jesus
Christ from the grave. It was the day made by the Lord, we rejoiced and were glad
for we saw the glory all around us. With the death of the Lord on the cross, it must
have been a devastating experience to the apostles and no wonder they were in
hiding, low keyed and afraid that even the news of his resurrection did not cheer
them up as they understood the meaning of death, an irreversible finality. The death
of Jesus, as hopeless as it appeared, eventually became the cornerstone rejected by
the builders as we sang in the Psalms by having the power to take away sins. This is
one of the reasons why we call the Friday our Lord died as GOOD FRIDAY, because inasmuch as it was a sad event at that time, but at hindsight, we realized how
we were saved forever by that death on the cross. With that the ancient curse due
to the sins of Adam and Eve and our own sins today was removed from us, once
more we were made children of the Father, who is in heaven, who in His magnanimity and benevolence used His own Son to buy our freedom, by shedding His
blood for us. He took away our eternal punishment and damnation.
The essence of the resurrection of Jesus was not immediately known. The Apostles failed to recognize him, not only because they were still blinded by their fear
and lack of understanding, but also because Jesus took a new body, revealing his
resurrected glory and that gave us hope about our own bodily resurrection at the
end of time. In this way the death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ
achieved among other things, firstly, the forgiveness of sin and making us sons and
daughters of God again, and also given hope for eternal life after our life here on
earth.
Having secured the mercy of God and the hope for an everlasting life, we are all
called to share this good news, the good news of Christ which we hear in the scripture. Christ himself said to His disciples to go to the ends of the earth making all
who believe His brothers and sisters and baptizing them with the name of the
blessed Trinity. This is a call to all who recognized the great things that the Father
did for us in Christ Jesus. We are therefore obliged to answer in return by being
Christ to others, healing and consoling them and making Christ the center of our
life and their lives. By doing these through our personal evangelization, we are partaking in Christs mission of forgiveness and hope to humanity, hence fulfilling the
plan of God for the salvation of men and women, to this we are all witnesses.

Happy thoughts remove lifes pressures. They have healing powers and uplift the spirit. They lead to
blissful lives. Think happy always.

Recollection:

The Gifts that You Received Give as Gift

Fr. Myson Camay OAD

Fr. Myson Camay started by giving the topic for reflection. He said the greatest
gift that we received is God. But there is no point in starting with God if we have
not entered into our heart. So he further said, Return to your heart. For the
heart is the place where we meet God. It is the core of our being.
Return to the heart
- to know one self, to search inwardly for our purpose, our worth and our
direction
- to know our meaning, our value and our end. It takes humility to know
ones heart.
- Boredom is a means by which God is calling us for a deeper searching of
our hearts, a deeper knowing of our identity.
Our identity.
- We are children of the Father
- We are members of Christs body
- We are temple of the Holy Spirit
Gift - something to be freely given. They are not to be owned.
- The gift reflects the giver.
- If God has given Himself to us, then we should be a gift to others.
- If God showed us His humility, His love, His generosity, it is innate for us
to love, to be humble, to be generous.
By our self alone, we cannot sustain. We need to be constantly connected to
the Giverto be in communion with the Giver. Without union there is no communion. Thus the necessity of prayer. Our life should be a constant prayer.

Many people miss their share of happiness, not because they never found it, but
because they did not slow down to enjoy it.

Fr. Myson

Chapter Heads Message

CH Guy and Eden Ceniza

Last Sunday, April 29, was the Good

Shepherd Sunday. In the Holy Mass that
we attended, the presiding priest threw
a reflective question during his homily.
Have I ever laid down my life for others?
We may not measure up to what our
Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ did but we
can probably imitate Him. It is our calling to shepherd our families and the
marketplace where we source out our
livelihood. He may have called all but He
has chosen few and we are among the
few.
Our community, BCBP, is our tool to
live a life of the good shepherd whose
mission is to Bring Jesus Christ in the
Marketplace and Bring the Marketplace
to Jesus Christ. NAC 32 theme: GO
I will be with You. very well define our
mission. But before we set our sail we

need to revisit ourselves. Are we emotionally and spiritually ready?

To set ourselves on that direction, we
have prepared activities and teachings
that will fuel our enthusiasm and let it
burn like the heat of the summer sun.
Towards the end of May we will have
a family activity dubbed as Family Summer Camp Adventure whose objective
is to foster closer bond and understanding among members.
On top of it we are preparing Culture
Talks to be given out on our 1st Friday
nights and some weekends to give us the
much needed spiritual nourishment that
will equip us to sail with the MV Taytayan in keeping with the bigger mission of
MV Kapatiran.
Come let us all sail and be fishers of
men with our Lord Jesus Christ as our
Captain.

Go! ... I Am with you.

Nery Gula

NAC32 was a beautiful experience of

God telling us, Go, I Am with you.
As early as November last year, we
registered to NAC32. With expectant
faith we prayed for everything, including
our transportation, our accommodation
in Manila to be in place.
And God is really good. February 19,
while waiting for the dermatologist to
check on our second girl who had an
allergy, I felt the need to do something.
So I went to look for a newspaper. I
finally got one. Browsing through it, I
saw an airline promo for discounted
fare. And so from our doctors appointment I rushed off to buy our plane ticket
to and from Manila for it was the last
selling day. We also availed of a dis-

counted hotel accommodation.

To top it all, I made it through all
the traffic, the train rides, the visits to
relatives, and the anniversary activities.
You see I had some apprehensions of
that trip because prior long travel experience had me sick. And so I packed
food supplements to boost my immune
system. In fact I brought half liter of my
malungay juice with me. And with a lot
of prayers, I did well health wise.
The Lord never fails. When He says
Go!, He adds saying, I Am with
you.

People may not reward or thank you for your actions, but when Christ is your reason for loving and
serving, you receive an even greater blessing in return.
