This week we are learning:

Preparation for the Scholarship

Exam

Circle Time Review

In circle time we will review previous topics
from this term like the 5 senses to check
that the students remember the old
vocabulary and grammar after their break. I
would like for the students to discuss their
environment with confidence using the
vocabulary from the 5 senses topic so I will
assess them using questions in the circle
time sessions. They should also remember
the adjectives that we used like light/dark,
sweet/sour/spicy/salty etc.

Activity Time
This week we will spend out activity time helping the students to prepare for the
scholarship exam they will be sitting on the 19th of January. The scholarship
exam is in preparation for Prathom 1, and allows us to judge the students'
general English level before they start their Prathom studies. We would like the
students to have as good a chance as possible on this test, so we have
prepared a study booklet covering the subjects listed below and will be working
through it with all students.
We will focus on academic study for the next few weeks, but will also use
familiar games like Bingo, the Corners Game and the Slaps Game to review the
vocabulary and practice full sentence grammar throughout.

Grammar
This week in English Grammar we will be
focusing on Yes, I do/No, I do not and I
can/I cant (actions).
We are going to watch do you like
broccoli? and what can you do? These
are two excellent videos that explain the
focus grammar. We can pause the videos
and repeat the sayings and ask questions
throughout. We will practice chanting
these responses and we will play games
to ensure that they understand the
concepts. We will then do some exercises
from our Grammar work booklet.

Prep the students to a high vocabulary level on the following subjects:

- School objects
- Colours
- Shapes
- Plurals
- Family
- Body Parts
Students will be expected to answer to a Prathom 1 level and communicate in
full sentences.

Science

This week in science we are

focusing on animals. We are
going to review the names and
then we will compare the
animals and group them into
tables. We will also be
categorising on the board with
pictures (cut out from
magazines). We will make
plasticine models of the
animals which is a fun way to
learn about them. We are going
to focus on learning about
animal parts, sounds,
