Travel Advisory for the 39th General Assembly of Student Councils (GASC)

VENUE:

The 39th General Assembly of Student Councils would be held at the Arts
and Sciences Lobby, University of the Philippines Cebu, Lahug, Cebu City.

BILLETING:

For delegates who will be arriving at UP Cebu on 08 January 2015, please

proceed to the UP Cebu guest house where you will be oriented regarding
your billeting.
Delegates who will be arriving on 09 January 2015, please go directly to
the venue proper of the assembly. Billeting of the delegates would follow
upon the suspension of the proceedings.

Also, please be advised of the following travel advisory to get to the University of the
Philippines Cebu campus.
If travelling via plane to Cebu:
1.

The fastest way to take you to the venue from the Mactan Cebu International
Airport is by riding a cab. Upon arrival, take a white taxi on the second floor of
the building across the arrival area. The estimated metered fare ranges from Php
200 to Php 250.

2.

Jeepneys in Cebu come with specific route numbers that would tell a specific
route for you to take. If you opt to take the jeepney, please follow these directions:

Take the yellow jeepney at the second floor of the building across the
arrival area. This jeepney will take you to Mandaue City mercado. (Php
8.00)
Then, ride another jeep going to SM City Cebu or Parkmall. (Php 8.00)

Riding the jeepney to SM City Cebu PUV Terminal:

Ride jeepney route number 03Q (SM-Ayala, v.v.). Prepare Php 8.00 for the
fare. This jeepney will take you to the first floor of the Ayala Center Cebus
PUV Terminal.
Ride jeepney route number 04M (Ayala-Lahug), whose jeepney stand is
located at the second floor of Ayalas PUV Terminal. Prepare Php8.00 for
the fare. Tell the driver to drop you off at UP.

Riding the jeepney to Parkmall:

Ride jeepney route number 01K (Urgello-Parkmall). Prepare Php8.00 for

the fare. This jeepney should take you to Colon Street. You alight at Jolibee
Colonnade Mall branch or 7-Eleven Colon Branch (across Metro
Supermarket).
Ride any jeepney with route numbers beginning with 04 and 17 (via
Osmena Blvd.-Escario St.: 04B, 04D, 04I, 04H, 17B, 17D; via Mango Ave.Gorordo Ave.: 04C and 17C). Prepare Php8.00 for the fare. Tell the driver
to drop you off at UP.

If travelling via ferry to Cebu:

By taking a cab:

Pier 1, 2 or 3: Prepare Php100.00 to Php150.00 for the metered taxi fare.

Enter Plaza Independencia (Legaspi Extension gate), then take exit at the
front gate (across Trans-asia Shipping Lines Office).
Walk from Plaza Independencia entrance to Lapu-Lapu Street (near
Department of Trade and Tourism).
Ride any jeepney with route numbers beginning with 04 and 17 (17 (via
Osmena Blvd.-Escario St.: 04B, 04D, 04I, 04H, 17B, 17D; via Mango Ave.Gorordo Ave.: 04C and 17C). Prepare Php8.00 for the fare. Tell the driver
to drop you off at UP.)
Pier 2
Ride 01B (Private-Colon). Tell the driver to drop you off near San Carlos
(University of San Carlos Main Campus). Prepare Php8.00 for the fare.
Take a short walk to USC jeepney stop and ride any jeep with route
numbers beginning with 04 and 17 (via Osmena Blvd.-Escario St.: 04B,
04D, 04I, 04H, 17B, 17D). Tell the driver to drop you off at UP. Prepare
Php8.00 for the fare.
Pier 3
Ride 01B (Private-Colon) or 01C (V. Rama-Colon). Tell the driver to drop
you off near San Carlos (University of San Carlos Main Campus). Prepare
Php8.00 for the fare.
Take a short walk to USC jeepney stop and ride any jeep with route
numbers beginning with 04 and 17 (via Osmena Blvd.-Escario St.: 04B,

04D, 04I, 04H, 17B, 17D) . Tell the driver to drop you off at UP. Prepare
Php8.00 for the fare.
