Before we begin, heres one important caveat


This book is not about increasing your confidence a little bit here and there. This is
about exploding through your past limitations and giving you the inner power to take
charge of your life.
When you do this confidence will ooze from every fibre of your being!

Quite honestly, that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Lesson 1
Step onto the mat!
Men were born to succeed, not to fail.
-Henry David Thoreau.
Lets jump right into this.
Wherever you are right now, in this moment, I have something to tell you.
You are capable of geometrical growth in all areas of your life. That might sound hard
to believe, but if you step onto the mat I will demonstrate.
Why step onto the mat?
This is simply a metaphor for making a decision to play full out as we walk through the
lessons contained within this book.
If you are not yet ready to change, then why not?
What is holding you back?
Is it a fear of the unknown? Are you scared to step outside the norm? Well, let me
tell you a secret. Its the same for everyone, but those that develop supreme selfconfidence make a decision.
Consider that you have already spent many years trying to conform and fit in with the
majority. Whether or not you made the conscious decision to do so, it simply happened
due to the conditioning we received growing up.
We were told what a good citizen does.
We were told how a good student should act and study.
We were told how to achieve success in our career.
How does this all relate to stepping on the mat?
Good question.

Firstly, I am attempting to bring your awareness to the fact that you now have a choice
about what you do from this moment forward. You can take back control and steer the
ship.
Whether or not your parents, teachers, religious leaders or other authorities had your
best in interests in mind is irrelevant now. The past is gone, but many of us are brining
that into our present. It happens again and again.
And it causes us to go round in circles.
A lifetime of conditioning and following what authority thought was best has created a
certain mental image of yourself.
Maybe you feel as though you have no voice.
Maybe you feel lost in a sea of more forceful people.
Perhaps you simply want to find that inner conviction to act in line with your own
values. Values that you have been unable to honour for so long.
Now is the time to break away from the conforming majority. You have no obligation to
stay in that place.
In fact, consider thats whats holding you back. Consider thats what has caused a lack
of self-esteem and self-confidence.
Who does it benefit when you remain small and conform to fit in? Why should you feel
like a prisoner in your own skin simply because you have different ideas and values
than the rest of your family, fiends or society?
These are great questions to ask yourself. They will bring you clarity and a new context
to your situation.
Are you beginning to see how a lot of your negative feelings and lack of confidence is
tied up in the way you relate you yourself simply because you feel different?
Only you can make the decision to stand for something. Are you ready?

If you lack self-confidence it can have a severe effect on the whole of your life. It can
affect everyday choices and impact the relationships you have. Im sure you are aware
of this fact.
However, the good news is that it can change, and change very quickly.
If you recognise aspects of the above inside your own mentality, then this lesson alone
is going to be eye opening.
We only need to look around our environment in the modern age to see some very
obvious but unnatural phenomena.
I am referring to the visible evidence that a huge majority of the population are living
lives they are truly not happy with. It seems they are resigned to just getting by. They
conform to society, they are good citizens but they are average and unhappy with
themselves.
This leads to feelings of unworthiness, anger and in extreme cases suicide. This may
be quite common in todays world, but is it natural for human beings?
When things begin to go wrong for people, they start to blame others. In an effort to
avoid the guilt and the shame of looking inwardly they look to outside factors and
circumstances for the answer. Oftentimes our excuses can defy logic, but in the
moment they shield us from feeling bad.
Understanding this and being aware of it brings you power. Power to change yourself
and therefore your circumstances.
YOU can inspire yourself by facing your difficulties in life and facing everything to reach
your goals and ambitions. Walking this path in life will bring you a huge amount of selfconfidence and self esteem.
Your own heros can also inspire YOU, which is something we will be discussing later.
I have talked about facing challenges and striving for goals in a way that most people
will never try. While the rest of society carries on in a stagnant fashion or conformity
and mediocrity, you can choose to be different.

YOU can choose to control your own thoughts, rather than be swayed by the unhappy
herd. It is a sad (but true) fact that many people will try to hold you back from climbing
out of the rut and reaching for personal happiness.
Why?
Simply because they have not taken control of themselves and feel they feel stuck in
their current life situation. As such, they want everyone to remain in the same position
as them.
The ironic fact is that once they see their own limitations are illusions are not
consciously chosen, they have the power to rise up themselves. Maybe once you
have developed your own self-confidence and reached your goals, you will chose to
demonstrate this to others.
Either way, I want to acknowledge you for choosing a better way and never settling.
You have taken the first step toward TRUE self-confidence.
The key to change lies
in your thoughts.
You may have heard something similar before but let us be clear here. It is your
thoughts and how you think that essentially controls your life and ultimately your
actions.
If you allow yourself to think according to what others expect, or allow yourself to be
controlled by a group or an individual, then in that moment you have become mentally
enslaved to their wishes and their state of mind. That means that you have handed
over control to that person or group of people.
From this position you naturally think that you have no power to change your
circumstances. You have enslaved yourself.
This does not mean you should not pay attention to other people or become
hardheaded. It simply means that you should hold your own values as highly as you
hold those of other people.

Your own thoughts generate the mental map of your reality. How you think, effects
exactly how you act and feel in all situations. As such you should make the decision to
act in line with what you feel is in your best interests.
It is your life as you see fit. Does it not make sense to choose your own thought and
act in line with them? Please understand that you have begun to see your life in a new
light and it may appear scary. But consider that is your true power.
The Power of Choice.
Most people do not consciously choose what they want. They tend to go with the flow
and fit into society. They get lost in the maze and never really develop themselves.
As soon as you decide to think for yourself and act in line with your values of health,
love, financial freedom etc, you become different from 99% of the population. You can
use your power to change your circumstances and the feelings that naturally result
from that. In essence, you will skyrocket your self-confidence, happiness, courage and
motivation levels.
Most important of all, it all becomes natural because you are acting from within.
You are not simply obeying and accepting the ideas and shoulds from an outside
authority.
Needless to say,

The greatest people in


history were different.

Lets take a quick look at some of the greatest figures in history. These people dared
to be different. They stood in the face of criticism and even oppression to bring their
dream into the real world. Such people have shaped the word we live in today.
They simply took a stand for what they believed in and kept walking their own path in
the face of anything that could have stopped them.
Think about people like Ghandi.
In an age of oppression and military rule, he stood up to the British Empire and held
resolutely to his beliefs.

He did so in a peaceful way, and after years and years of campaigning he vision was
made real in the world.
If you have struggled with a lack of self-confidence, see that as an advantage you have
over the people who simply keep doing the same things and never make a change.
You have recognised the need to search for deeper meanings and personal growth.
While most people dont realise how much they are compromising in their lives, you
know. You can use that understanding, as other great people have done, to change
your won perception on your world and yourself today.
You see that you have a challenge to face and something worth climbing. You feel
awake to that reality now. You can become of the heroes who chose the tough and
challenging, yet most rewarding path in their life. The majority of people are simply
asleep to their situation and live out lives of comfort and safety, as they remain asleep.
Why you can change.
You should know it is possible for you to change, because you are in control of your
dominant beliefs which have been controlling and limiting your awareness. Because of
this reason, all change is within your control.
Begin to relate to your thoughts and beliefs as your inner world, which is reflected in
the outside real world. When you want to produce changes in the outside world, it is
vital that you first make an inner change.
It is easy to see this occurring in circumstances when you are suffering from nerves
and feel un-confident. The way you speak to yourself and the thoughts you generate
are reflected in the actions (or lack of) you take in reality. For example, if you tell
yourself that I am too nervous to introduce myself to that person, then the results will
shows themselves physically. It could be fumbling, dry mouth or shaking.
But when you change your dominant thoughts or beliefs in the moment, you will
change your awareness and re-frame the situation. This leads to a change in the outer
circumstances.
Instead of seeing your situation in life as fixed and unchangeable, begin to see it as
just one perspective that you currently hold. It may be a long held belief but is it serving
you?

We need to see the entire picture, not only your current perspective. It seems
obvious that you need to see something else when you are not experiencing the selfconfidence you want, however in order to see the bigger picture; you must challenge
what is not already working for you.
Question your own self-image to see if it supports who and what you want to be. Could
it be that the metaphorical box you have placed yourself inside of is limiting you and
your self-confidence? Do you even know how much space there is outside the box?
The beliefs you think of as certainties have been preventing you from actualising your
unique gifts and true potential.
You can change, and now is the time to do it.
Moving forward from here
As you move through this book, more and more ideas and concepts will begin to
integrate into one bigger picture. More aspects of the conditioning you have received
growing up and how that has led to your current situation will become more obvious.
Overcoming struggle
You will see how the current system you have to cope with problems and difficulties
may not be the best solution for you anymore. You will see how and why those
solutions have been limiting your progress and holding you back from operating with
total self-confidence.
Goals
From here, we will explore the process of setting up goals and pathways in your life,
which bring out the very best you have to offer. Things that stir your soul from inside
and values you may have been compromising to fit it.
When you set up the goals in this manner, you no longer feel forced from an outside
authority to act in integrity to them. Instead, you feel naturally called forward with an
inner power, as you are consumed by the desire to be the person you know you are.
You will feel like a new light has been switched on and begin to see situations from a
new perspective.

With the new outlook, change becomes automatic and bold action is the result. As you
know, actions that move you forward bring self-confidence and a sense of real worth
and value.
Personal power factors
The next step from here is to see what personal power factors can boost you forward
and keep you on track. The aim is to develop and maintain a steady stream of selfconfidence that builds day to day, and week upon week.
The factors presented within this book are universal and directly lead to great
achievement. They are basic but very important and directly lead to improvements in
confidence very quickly.
Fears
Goals and personal growth will always bring with them a fear of the unknown. There
are ways to re-frame these feeling and let if work for you instead of against you.
It is likely that a number of fears are blocking you from the progress you deserve.
Such fears and their associated experiences will be discussed and dissected into
manageable and creation solutions.
Fears can run on autopilot if they are left unchecked and unquestioned.
After reading the lesson on fears, you will clearly understand how they are formed and
how everything you do is managed around the fear itself. It can be very empowering
to break free of the fear and gives you a new lease of life. It also provides a new
perspective and pathway to self-confidence.
Self-command
Another important point on your journey to self-confidence is to give yourself a
command and believe, focus and act upon it. If you can internalise the command and it
is for your own good, you will begin to see many dramatic changes.
We will then look at some affirmations and see how modern brain science can help you
achieve what you want. Finally we will look at a vision for your future and see where
you can go after this. Its an exiting journey, so lets continue

Lesson 1 Review Step onto the mat


Understand that it doesnt matter who you are, what you do or where you are in life
(your current trials and tribulations), you can have more freedom and more selfconfidence than you thought possible.
And the journey to reaching this place is not as hard as people would have you believe.
You can live a very purposeful life and one filled with a sense of deep personal
fulfilment.
As you will learn in a later chapter, it takes approximately 30 days to rewire your brain
for a new habit to be formed and become automatic. That is also roughly the time it
takes to let the concepts of this book formed into an integrated whole which you can
mould in to an automatic mental process.
Absorb al the concepts and let them filter into your new way of being, thinking an
acting. You will be able the grasp the concepts initially but the real changes occur when
your behaviour changes and you start to KNOW on a deeper, experimental level.
Lets take a look at some of the key points we covered inside this lesson. Remember to
keep reviewing this material, as you will find things that you skipped over the first time
round.
Bring your awareness to what could be limiting you. Look for signs of confidence
crushers and life-wasting habits. Think about:
o Avoidance habits watching the TV excessively, playing video games,
socialising or being a workaholic etc
o Failure habits success barriers, self sabotage, drugs, gambling,
excessive eating or drinking, criminal behaviour, the easy way out etc
o Obeying authority habits unquestioning obedience to an authority figure
without thinking for yourself. OR total rebellion of an authorities wishes.
Look at whether you try to manipulate others in social settings or in the
work place.

o Truth seeker habits always looking for the answer or the end solution
instead of enjoying the happiness in the moment.
o Be the best habits over competition, trying to look like the best and look
cool in front of others and letting real self-confidence slip away in the
process.
Remember the conditioning you were brought up with and think about how that is
running your life today, and how that may limit your self-confidence.
Look at what thoughts and feelings are holding you back. Are they your own
thoughts or are they controlling you by default? If you can analyse them and see
where they came from you can them being new awareness to your situation.
What beliefs do you currently hold about what you should do, be or have in your
life? Are these beliefs for or against you and where you want to go in your life?
Do they offer the possibility for more or less self-confidence?
Dare to be different! Move away from the happy, average herd and stand for
your own values in life. You can be certain that you can be whatever you want to
be. Look at the heroes you admire in the world and see what they stood for, and
what they had to face on their journey. Now see how you can do the same.
Why you can change. Know that you can change because it is your own mental
image of yourself that holds the key. After years of certain beliefs and habit
patterns, you have formed a mental picture of reality and you can change it. Free
your self with awareness and you will discover that self-confidence will be within
your possession.

Lesson 2
Struggling is not the answer!
You already have within you all you need for the self-confidence you are searching
for. There is no need to look beyond your own present power to make good all your
problems and turn your life around. In essence you can create the life you want with
the tools you already have, they simply need some refinement and more awareness.
The longer that you wait for the miracle cure or the answer to land at your feet, the
longer you spend looking and researching outside yourself, the more distant you
become from what it is you are searching for.
Throughout the ages, wise men have told us that we need to look within for our own
answers, and today we can see how this works. From the beginning of time each
human being has had their own answers and possessed enough intuition, mental
powers and personal wisdom to live on their own terms and express their own unique
gifts in an abundant manner.
However, we still see people all over the world searching and struggling for the things
they believe are missing.
People are looking for a miracle cure!
Lets look at some examples:




The material objects in life.


Praying for salvation one day.
Looking for self-confidence and self-esteem.
Searching for the right religion.
Struggling for spiritual enlightenment.

The list above contains all the desires which people mistake for the end goal. They
believe that finding the answer to the questions above will solve all their problems.
While focusing on such targets outside themselves, they become more and more
oblivious of how nothing outside of them holds the answer. The answers all lie within.
The great institutions of the world wont cant them any more than any one individual
can.

There is no need to struggle as the answers to all your questions lie within yourself
right at this moment. It seems that people want other people and, in particular super
powerful creators to do the work for them, however the truth is that only they can walk
the journey within and complete the work themselves.
Dont look outside yourself for help. Instead look within with honesty and a new world
will open up. That is where your true power for change lies, as we are going to find out
and explore.
A new space
Lesson 1 discussed the conditioning you experienced growing up. You did not
consciously choose that conditioning which led to your current situation. However, now
you have an awareness of what has taken place. The question becomes what will you
do now?
Could it be that you can take back control rather than struggling against something,
which seems so powerful and feels like it has a hold over you?
The mind is very, very hard to try and control. It can seem very unruly at times and
even people who spend a lifetime meditating have trouble with that control mechanism.
It is within your nature to seek pleasure and to avoid guilt and pain. When we are
faced with these feelings we naturally want to reduce the pain and move away from it,
quickly. You most likely have your own ways of dealing with it.
Everyone has their own way of dealing with the negative feelings and finding an
escape route. However this can lead to more suffering in the long term as you keep
avoiding the situations that could make all the difference in your life. If the same
experience keeps recurring, this could be the reason why.
So what can you do to avoid the struggle?
One powerful way could be to face the pain if you had a powerful reason. It would have
to be very powerful and change your context; otherwise you would want to escape
again.
Many times people dont have a powerful context in the moment if the choice, so they
default to their usual way of reacting.

It could be that it simply does not seem very important in the moment to make a
change, so you go back to escaping the pain.
When you constantly escape and revert back tot your comfort zone, it seems that your
life is very narrow and revolves around certain choices regularly been made. This leads
to a drop in self-confidence.
Self-confidence continues to reduce as you feel that other forces that you cannot
control seem to be against you. It seems that the whole world is against you and your
plans for success. In other words, you feel those things are outside your control.
All of the above statements begin to become to be repetitive actions and thoughts that
lead to ingrained non-conscious beliefs being formed.
From this position, your life does not look attractive. It seems to be filled with pain and
suffering, so the next step for you is to avoid that. Why should I have to put up with
that? you say. It makes sense to look for something easy and quick.
Many ways of living spring from this, but they all lead to a lack of fulfilment and a sense
of compromise on your highest values. This all emerges as a lack of confidence and
over time, you lose all confidence in your self and in your ability to anything.
Stop the struggling today!
You can stop struggling only when you change your perception and experience. You
naturally want more control over your world but thinking and having are two separate
things.
Thinking you have control when you react to a situation based on how you feel, is not
the same as a system based control process, in which you know what you want a head
of time.
As human beings, we all know that it is our perception that has influenced our feelings
more than anything else, simply because there was nothing else that changed in a
given situation.
Because of this, the power to affect your perception is a very powerful tool you can
use in your daily life. Currently, it is very likely that you simply default back to the usual
system when problems arise.

Do you look for the easy way or, or the way that brings the least pain?
Please consider that as quick fix, but a path to general struggle in life.
It is natural that you should want to produce more of the feelings you want in life. In
this instance, you chose the experiences based on the feelings that you think will be
produced. Think about people who take part in extreme sports to get the highs that
they want.
Because the feeling you want is to be self-confident, it makes sense that you would
look for situations that would provide that feeling. However, for whatever reason, that is
not happening right now. Do you see how you are short cutting a very natural pattern in
order to get a quick fix and avoid a negative feeling in the process?
There are shortcuts to the feelings you want also. Maybe that could be alcohol or
another situation that offers self-confidence in a quick manner.
In the moment of choice, the instant benefit becomes more attractive than the longterm consequences of the quick fix, so the endless cycles of struggle continues.
The question is really how do you venerate the feelings you really want, without the
baggage?
There is nothing wrong with wanting to feel more confident, in fact each person wants
exactly the same but they have different strategies for finding it. You should look at
your current strategy and see how that is affecting your long-term results.
What if you approached the goal of achieving more self-confidence as a way to
improve your entire life in all areas? In stead of trying to motivate yourself to change
through guilt of fear of loss, how about seeing such a powerful vision for the rest of
your life, that you are called to move into action and face up to the situations which you
would normally turn away from.
What do you think your current strategy is costing you?
All that really stands between you and your desire for more self-confidence and a
happy life are the feelings that cause pain or discomfort in the moment.

However, inside those feelings could be valuable information, if you choose to look
at them. The problem most people have is that they wont even look at the feelings
honestly so they instantly look way and escape the pain.
Most people in this society have a very low pain threshold and it is causing them to
suffer. The normal herd have become like robots that simply avoid all the pain that
appears for them. They have been conditioned to simply turn away and not look at the
wider picture that would offer them some guidance.
The resulting feelings are comprise, shame and cowardice. When people look at who
they are at the core, this is what they see. They see that they give up their dreams to
be comfortable and safe in the moment.
This becomes their self-image and who they think themselves to be.
This brings more pain, which they want to look away from also. To keep avoiding
every time a choice is being presented means they waste their life away without ever
realising the choice they had.
This is not the natural way for human beings. We can create the life we desire and
have all the confidence we want. That is what awaits you as you move into the creation
of you most precious goals.

Lesson 3
Goal Setting Success
Purpose is what gives life a meaning.

The key to goal setting is to be specific. In fact, you must be very specific!
You are looking for precise, measurable outcomes. Something that gets you fried up
and releases emotion when you think of it.
A goal is not a general desire. Wanting more money is not a goal. I want to be
healthy and rich is not a goal.
To move toward a goal it must release an emotion, which drives you to move toward it.
If it is boring and dry, then you will feel no compulsion or desire to have or be that thing.
Take this into account as goal setting can bring about your dreams if it is done
correctly.
Success and self-confidence can be yours. If you think about it and truly want it, then
nothing will stop you from achieving it. Its as simple as that. The strange things is that
people who never change always think that the successful few are either lucky or had
some special skills and talents that they did not have. Thats not the case at all as you
will see in this lesson.
Dont let yourself become one of those people. Move ahead and take from life what
your desire and deserve.
The first step
So, how should you begin?
One if the most important initial steps is to make a firm decision to have what you want.
Commit yourself to it.
Generate emotion within your body and create a very strong reason for wanting
success. This should come in the form of a why question.

A goal which contains a why is far more powerful that simply wanting something.
This alone will bring about new levels of emotion and purpose.
When you focus on the goal and decide to give it a high importance your nonconscious brain will pick this up and literally begin to look for ways to accomplish the
goal for you. It will bring your attention to anything that matches up with that goal.
This means that during the day when you are concentrating on another task,
your conscious attention will be brought to people and places that can lead to the
accomplishment of your goal. That is very powerful.
When thinking of goals, ensure that you remember your unique purpose and values in
life. Think about what you would like to be or to have more than anything else.
The only way you are ever going to get what you want is when you KNOW what you
want.
This sounds very obvious but many people do not remember this when setting goals.
From here, think about how badly you want it. If there is some pain attached to the
need for the gaol, this will drive you even closer to it. It will also give you a huge
advantage because it generates a very emotional WHY reason for succeeding.
Unless you know what you want, you cant achieve it!
One big reason for 90% plus of people failing to reach any goal they set themselves
is because they are not specific about what they want. Always have the specific end
result in your mind while you are working towards it achievement.
If you do this, then you recognise stepping pints and small success mares along the
journey. This shows you that you are getting closer.
Understand that just creating a goal does not mean it will be given to you on a plate!
That is not the process.
It takes personal action and a number of other factors that we will discuss. However
seeing the goal broken into small steps will create more desire and make it
manageable. There is no need t rush and try to reach it right away. Take it one day at a
time, or one hour if you need to.

Break the larger goal into smaller goals and get started today. Your first hour could be a
huge leap forward.
Remember that if you fall down, that does not mean failure, it just means you need to
get up and try again. Your goal will come a little later than you thought but so what! Get
up and set a fresh goal for the next hour.
No lets get down to some details.
Write it down
The next thing to do is to take out a sheet of paper or journal and write down a list of
goals you want to achieve. You can list a few things or everything. Some people have
hundreds or even thousands of goals at one time.
Take your time and think about what you really want to have and why that is important
to you.
You should write down some long range, medium range and short-range goals. That
means goals that can be completed today, in a weeks time or in a few years time.
From here, start to circle or underline the goals that you really want to achieve and
concentrate on initially. Pick one long range, one medium range and one short-range
goal.
The playing card technique.
After you have chosen you goals from your list you are ready to write them down and
make them a walking, talking reminder of your desires.
Find a small card, either playing card size or a 3 x 5 card and write your goals on here.
Your long-range goal might say I now weight 175lbs and have 9% body fat for
example.
From here you should start to focus on your goals. Hold it in front of you and
repeat it over and over again.
Say it out load and silently to yourself.

When thinking and speaking, ENSURE you are picturing the competed goal in
your mind.
Keep running the image of the end result in your mind, over and over again!
Use a lot of EMOTION when stating the goal.
Emotion and the mental imagery are the two key skills to learn with goal setting.
Repeating a string of words will not bring about success. It means nothing without a
strong conviction from within.
You should be able to generate this, as you have chosen a goal with a powerful why
reason behind it. When you repeat the goal with deep emotion you generate a strong
feeling within your body.
You can literally feel an inner shift taking place and you feel energised from the practice
of the goal statement. You feel ready to take action!
Using the technique above will move you ahead very quickly a it begins to being your
non-conscious brain into action. You create a very strong imprint on it, which moves
you closer to the goal as stated above.
Think happens automatically without your conscious awareness at first. You will
be brought awareness when its time to act and when you reflect on seeming
coincidences.
Just be vigilant and watch out for clues that seem to align with your goal.
Daily practice
The card technique is a portable and easy way to carry your goals with you all day.
Create many cards and place them in prominent places throughout your house so that
you see them constantly.
The more you can be reminded of you goals, the more it will be imprinted into your
non-conscious brain and the more rapidly you will reach it.
Remember to take the goal card to work or school so you have it by your side all day.
This leads to the next important point.

During the day you should take out your goal card and write the goal out over and over
again. Repeat the words and get the image in your head. You can have a notebook
with you for this purpose, but that is not necessary.
Extra Tip
Some people like to create a goal book and add all there goals whenever they create
a new one. They also write about them each day and keep a record of what happened
to move them closer to the fulfilment of a specific goal. This is not required; however if
you think it would be useful, please give it a try. So long as you keep the goal in mind
throughout the day you will do just fine
You can become creative and sketch out an image of yourself with the end result. For
example, you could draw a picture with your ideal physique or with your ideal partner.
Develop the habit of using mental exercises.
They literally pull you towards the goal and increase your desire at a very deep level.
The repetition also adds strength to the goal and yourself. You feel you have done so
much and come so far that you would not give in now.
Do not neglect this lesson because it seems silly or beneath you. Remember those that
do not set goals will never reach them. Why is it that people state its all mental and
yet pass up the opportunity to set definite goals in life?
Do not make the same mistake. You have reached this pint because of what you have
been thinking about most. Its your dominant thoughts that bring about your reality. You
now have the chance to plan and engineer what your new dominant thoughts will be
during the day.
Writing or thinking about your goal one or two times will not create the mental imprint
or the emotion to achieve them. Would you train your biceps once and expect them to
grow bigger? It is them same with your mental capacity.
When you start to write them out and picture them with emotion, each and every day
then you will move toward in a fast and focused manner.

There is no question that your desires can be yours together with an abundance of
self-confidence. You simply need to set up the systems for bringing them into reality.
Dont share your goals with others!
Keep your goals and plans to yourself unless the person is actively going to support
and help you. When you start to set goals and move towards them, other people can
become jealous an frustrated in their own lack of growth.
For this reason, they may criticise or otherwise sabotage your efforts. The negative
attitude from family members, friends and other acquaintances can really hamper your
efforts, if you expose yourself to them.
Negativity can quick bring your positive feelings down to negative ones. Since you are
learning to build more confidence, it makes no sense to expose yourself to this in the
beginning. Once you have made a few successes, feel free to tell them all.
It is likely that they will see from your actions more that your spoken word, so it is
unnecessary anyway.
Remember that your self-talk is of paramount importance in moving toward your goals
and other people may not be as thoughtful as you.
Cause and effect with bring your goals into reality
Cause and effect understand that each action will have a reaction, and every effect
had a cause. If you use primary law of the universe you cannot fail to get what you
want.
If you live by this law it will guarantee that you get what you want and you can predict
the outcome of your actions. Use this for your own benefit and be deliberate about
what you do in life.
Ask yourself if what you are going to has a positive effect for you and brings you
closer to what you want. Make this a habit. You can see that there is nothing outside of
yourself that causes your problems. There is no such thing as bad luck. Everything you
do and think will have an effect down the line.

When you take full responsibility for what is happening right now, you realise yourself
from dangerous outside rule and control. Once you change yourself, your outer reality
will change for the better.
Visualising and picturing
The most important thing with any goal is to see what you are going after. If you cant
see it, or dont know what it is, then you are never to reach it. It makes perfect sense
but it seems such advice is not taken on board by most people.
What if I dont have a goal yet?
Use your imagination to create one. If you already know what you want to have, do or
be, and there are other people who have already achieved this thing, learn all you can
about them and the journey they took.
Look, if they did it, then you can certainly do the same. Go to the library and find books
to buy tapes and watch interviews with them. There is a lot from learn from people who
can accomplish such feats.
You must do whatever it takes to keep the vision of what you want, in front you at all
times. Or at least as often as you possibly can. If you are creative, then you should be
able to keep the vision at all times of the day.
This is a critical point especially if the goal is very challenging. This makes it even
more important. Consider that there are so many distraction and blockers that could
potentially knock you off track if you dont keep your goals in sight at al times.
Whatever you want to do, find pictures and pin them on your walls, find screensavers
and posters and have them positioned all around.
The key is to keep the goal in mind constantly and by that, I mean the image in your
thoughts. Image the goal complete at all times and move toward it with passion and
emotion.

Lesson 3 Review - Goal Setting Success


Know that you can and will be what you choose to be.
Start making lists of everything you want to achieve. You can have a huge list if you
want. Keep adding to it and cross off items when you achieve or acquire them
Prioritise your goal list in order of importance to you and your values. Begin to take
action on what is important right now.
Remember to break the goals down in long term, medium term and short-term goals.
This builds a sense of urgency and a resolve to meet the goals. It also brings a sense
of achievement early on in the process.
Remember to have daily goals also. This is another way to bring a sense of
achievement and bring a boost in self-confidence very quickly.
Use the playing card/ 3x5 card technique to carry your goals with you during the day.
Wherever you go should always be a reminder of your goals.
Remember to keep score of your goals and where you are in relation to them today.
The journey is an important as the destination. Looking back on past accomplishments
brings added emotion and confidence.
When creating your goals, start with the end first and work backwards. This creates a
plan in reverse but gives you the greatest chance of accomplishment.

Personal Power Factors for Self-Confidence
Factor 1: Focus

circumstance they want, and, if they cant find them, make them.

Focus is vital. This is something that cannot be over emphasised and is a major factor
in the success of any achievement.
Focus goes hand in hand with taking action. Simply said you must focus on what
needs to be done next in order to reach your goals. Remember that by reaching out in
pursuit of goals is where our self-confidence will be built up to the greatest extent.
If it seems difficult to focus right now, then work on this aspect of your mindset. By
doing so, you reap the rewards in the near future. With practice you will soon learn
the importance of this asset and it will become invaluable in your personal journey of
growth.
The greatest minds in history understood this fact. From inventors to mathematicians,
the most successful people have listened to their inner voice and being guided from
that place. But, their desire was not only what led to success.
They needed constant focus to reach their destination. Said simply, you must know
where you are going in order to recognise it when you reach it.
Confident and successful people realise that they are in control of their own destinies.
They take responsibility and move forward with inspired action and focus on what
needs to be done next.
Lets look at an example.
Look at a sports game and ask yourself if the usual winners are the most focused. Do
the major league teams set goals at the beginning of each season? Why?

Thats right, in order to have the whole team focus on one task and one big objective.
Not only does it bring the team closer together, it also allows them to plan and
strategise.
Imagine if there were no goal or focus. How can a plan be created for that?
There is no doubt that at times the team will lose games, however each training
session is another chance to re-focus and get back into the winning state of mind. Top
sports teams never allow a bad game or the opposition affect their focus. They decide
and they take action in line with the goal.
Imagine if you had the same kind of focus as a top sport team. If you lived up to that
level of commitment and dedication based on your focus what would that do for your elf
confidence?
If you focus on the goal and on your purpose, you are once again taking charge of your
life. You take responsibility and understand that there are no accidents.
In fact, you no longer wish and pray for confidence, happiness and success, you
actively seek them out by keeping your eye on the target. You can place full trust in
yourself and your own ability. Of course, this brings with it an abundance of self worth
and confidence from within. No one can take that from you.
One more thing, you generated it yourself by following your mission in life. Imagine if
every day could be like that.
Believe me, when we loose our focus we perform poorly and often end up with feelings
of guilt or being less than. When undertaking a task, ensure that all your focus is
placed upon that task for the duration of the job.
So, when it comes time to balance your chequebook, simply place all your focus on
that to the exclusion of everything else. Planning plays a key factor in organising your
life, and that is something we will discuss in a later lesson.
For now, understand that keeping your mind present to the present task is the way
to hit all your targets. Earned rewards bring supreme confidence in yourself and your
abilities.

Such rewards in mental and physical experience lead to the feeling that you cannot
lose. As such, you develop the wining mindset, which is the confident mindset.
Discipline and focus are inter-related. You must be firm and hold focus during times
that seem hard. You will soon come to realisation that this lesson will help you

Take a moment to read over a few hints on how to focus when distraction seems very
possible:





State what you are trying to accomplish?


Ask yourself if there are others ways to reach your target?
Make it easy to focus remove obvious distractions.
Instruct yourself verbally that you WILL focus on the task at hand.
Surround yourself with people who have similar goals.
Spend some time alone to ensure others do not distract you.

Remember that what you are working on right now is moving you toward your goal.
Once the task is finished you can spend your time as you wish. Also, you will have the
natural feeling of being rewarded.
Remember you can have what you want in life. But you must decide. To not decide is
to decide by default!
Understand that indecision brings frustration and a lack of confidence. We have the
feeling that we should be working creatively in pursuit of our vision but we see that we
are settling for mediocrity and indecision.
This is the huge problem so many people face and, the reason why they feel so much
self-doubt, inadequacy and lack of confidence in themselves. Indecision is a way to
escape the present moment and not look honesty at it. If you face the tough questions,
the answers will come from your focus.
Remember that focus keeps you in the present moment, which is your place of true
power.

Focus goes hand in hand with taking action. What you focus on will expand and
dominate your thoughts. Repetitive thoughts lead to habits, and positive habits
form self-confident people.
You must know where you are going in order to recognise it when it comes into

Focus on your values and your purpose. This way you are taking full
responsibility
Focus on what you need to do in the moment, and nothing else. Consider, all
that matters right now is the job in hand. Laser-like focus brings results and that
builds further confidence as you look back on your accomplishments.
Make a decision. To not decide is to decide by default. Isnt it time you stopped
that endless cycles of waiting?
Remember that focus keeps you in the present moment, which is your place of
true power.

even existence upon its fulfilment.

Simply stated, discipline is your personal ability to follow your own command and
instruction in order to fulfil on your dreams and goals in life. Discipline is one of the old
laws of success and a sure fire way to bring self-confidence.
Remember that self-confidence will grow alongside the quality of your efforts toward
your own goals.
In our fast paced lifestyle we expect others to have discipline. Do you expect your own
family and co-workers to be disciplined? Im sure you do and yet most people do not
expect it of themselves.
In the absence of discipline nothing gets completed. Things are left unattended to and
simply gather dust. There is no doubt that goals take time to accomplish; however
a disciplined and systematic approach will cut the learning curve in half if it were
adopted.
It is essential to you take this lesson to heart and remember the importance of it.
Discipline is a key factor in the successful result of any plan. Indeed Jim Rohn once
said,
Discipline is the bridge between
goals and accomplishment.

Despite what you may have read or heard, trusting that things will work themselves
out does not lead to success. It leads down the road of a lack of fulfilment and
depression.
People who set goals and make plans are proven to live happier lives than the vast
majority who do not.

However, all the plans in the world are worthless unless action is taken. And action is
not taken without a disciplined mind.
Heres the deal on discipline:
Desire and drive play a huge role in your discipline.
Connect to your emotion and see the benefit you will receive in the outcome of
the goal.
EMOTION is key!
Without a real emotional benefit you simply wont do whats necessary to make it
happen.
For instance, in the moment the goal is set you may feel fired up and ready to go. But
what occurs later when you suffer a set-back or something does not go as planned?
These are the times that count most.
If you sense the importance of your goal and how it relates to your values, and if you
see that you are really doing for yourself because you want it, then you will have no
problem taking action.
Please read over the last section again, at it is vitally important.
By the way, we are going to go into depth about how to set magnetic goals that keep
you fired up, in side the goal setting lesson.
For now, realise that the goal must stir you from the inside. You must be able to see
and feel it or it will not move you. In time it will become easier to ignore the urge to
compromise on your values.
With discipline in place, all that you can imagine will be yours. You choose the worthy
goal and then plan it out in line with your value system. And then you stay true to it. If
you do what is necessary, you will make bring your dreams into reality.

a colossus of power. Nothing can stand in its way and nothing can stand in your way
when you use it as prescribed in this lesson.
Persistence is known by a number of names such as constancy, tenacity or endurance.
However you refer to it, understand that the process and the way it is used is the vital
information to know and USE.
Persistence is one of the most universally admired qualities by all people.
Do you know why?
The reason is because it is so rare to find. The sad fact is that most people do not
persist in their pursuit of anything and as such, they lack self-confidence.
Due to this, they respect the man or woman who does persist. They admire the one
who day after day works at their own plans until they are brought into reality.
What is your persistence like?
You can judge yourself quite easily. To do so just think of some of the things you
wanted to have and what you wanted to attain a year ago. Now then, how many have
become a part of you, or, at least, are within sight?
Perhaps the most impressive thing to anyone from any walk of life is seeing another
person persist in spite of their failures and knock backs. Especially the way in which
certain people persist when it seems they are apparently getting nowhere.
Such people have developed a different concept to the word failure. They relate to it
differently and do not let anything stop them. All the time they are building their own
power of self-confidence within.

Actually, such people are assured of success from the very start. Their endurance
alone supplies everything else necessary to complete their journey toward their
destination. It maintains their confidence, holds their focus, sustains their patience, and
energizes their desire to achieve.
Perseverance can be related to building. The process of placing one brick on top of
another, not perfectly, not with exact skill, not with total mental clarity, not even with
complete confidence that it can be done. It consists of a series of quiet placements that
will always develop definite form within a reasonable time.
Thankfully, persistence is one of the easiest of all personal powers to develop to your
full strength. It responds quickly to the person who seeks it out and it can be used to
full effect by you.
Before we discuss the technique, lets discuss something about the psychology of
sticking-to-it. Understand that you will persist in a program only when you have a fairly
strong expectation of reward.
The greater the expectation, the greater the persistence and if you have a low
anticipation of what you can achieve, then you will create an ineffective action plan.
Therefore it is important that you develop a belief in the process of sticking to the task
and never giving in. This is not hard to do.
It is actually very logical.
If you really believe that your persistence will pay off, you will have no problem going
all the way to the end, in the face of any obstacles. The great truth is that you can
believe in your own endurance to reach your goal and it will reward you in due time. It
always does, in one way or another.
Persistence comes from knowing the outcome of the efforts you make. You can set
these scenarios up ahead of time by using the following statements and logic:

systems of thinking will be born.

Lesson 5
Enthusiasm Breeds Confidence
At this very moment, as you continue reading these pages, you naturally posses
more than enough energy and enthusiasm needed to leap far beyond your current
circumstances. Understand that enthusiasm leads to self-confidence. The two traits go
hand in hand.
I am not exaggerating.
You have within you RIGHT NOW, far more enthusiasm than you need. In fact, the
power is so great that it constantly tries to move you into unparalleled, constructive
action, the like of which few people can ever muster or experience.
But before we inquire into the development of enthusiasm, I would like to share a story.
All I ask is that you read the following story with an open and inquisitive mind.
Ok. A little over a month ago I had the pleasure of being introduced to a land and
property investor from out of town. He was a friend of my brothers and I was in invited
to a lecture he was giving. Of course I attended to see what it was all about.
He specialised in purchasing areas of land that were no longer in use and had been
left vacant for years. Basically, he would search the Internet and the local papers in
order to find such premises and once he had located a suitable place, he would place
an offer with the owner. Often the areas of land were neglected and in a terrible state of
repair.
As such the owner was pleased to receive anything for it. Apparently these areas of
land are more common that most people think and can be found in most town and
cities.
Anyway, he focused most of his time on the smaller areas of property in his town,
which are often overlooked by larger office buildings. In essence he drives around town
and takes notes of possible places of interest. From here, he hunts down the owners
and begins negotiations with them.
He has become somewhat of an expert on this untapped niche in property purchasing,
and therefore he knows a good bargain when he sees one.

Some of his acquisitions are kept for steady growth value over time, while others are
quickly cleaned up and resold for a nice profit.
So, why am I telling you this?
Well, as he was giving his presentation and outlining his methods that evening, it was
clear that the members of the audience were paying close attention and you could hear
murmurs of enthusiasm as they thought about the same possibility for themselves.
Whats more, it seemed as if everyone was eager to leave the presentation and begin
his or her own little property business.
To cut a long story short, while he was concluding his speech one of the young men on
the front row asked him, Arent you afraid of the competition youll get by giving away
your secrets? You must sense many people are ready to copy you.
He laughed quietly and asked in reply, How many of you will still be exited about this
opportunity tomorrow morning? I invite you all to take my advice and search for vacant
land yourself. You are welcome to my secrets and feel free to call my office for further
help. I will be happy to help.
Surprisingly, I later found out that from an audience of 80 people in total, only three
took advantage of his generous offer. Out of those three, I dont know whether any of
them continued to peruse their aim of closing a deal, to its completion.
So heres the point of the story. How many of us let our enthusiasm die prematurely
before we have even taken a first step? When we lack enthusiasm we lose the power
to create our own reality, to shape our own future. All of that has a huge impact on our
self-confidence.
We begin to feel like nothing will work out for us. We start to become resigned to life
as it is and stop trying to reach for our dreams. Therefore, in our next encounter with
something a little unknown, we feel scared, hesitant and feel likely to fail. All this adds
to a drop in confidence.
So the question becomes, how can we generate enthusiasm?
Think back to the story and how almost all people lost their enthusiasm by the next
morning. Why was this?

In simple terms it was because they allowed conflicting emotions to dampen their inner
flame. They surrendered themselves to such negative emotions as hesitation and other
inadequacies.
There is no such thing as a lack of
enthusiasm in anyone.

If you are alive in this moment then you already have plenty of it inside you in one form
or another. Heres another question:
Do you desire anything?
If the answer is yes then you are enthusiastic, because desire is a type of enthusiasm.
You do not need to try and create enthusiasm from something else. It comes from
you and is available at all times; you simply need to connect to it. When you have
enthusiasm, you have self-confidence. You are ready to take on any challenge that is
in your way!
Do you ever feel jittery or edgy?
Please understand that the feelings you are experiencing are merely an energy that
doesnt know where to go.
Are you expecting a more prosperous future?
No, it is not enthusiasm that the average man or woman needs. So what is the problem
and what do we need?
In effect, we require these two principles:
1. Direction or a goal plan
2. Consistency or perseverance
We are not saying anything new by acknowledging that we should always direct our
actions toward our target in the pursuit of a goal. However, many of us seem to require
some assistance in getting down to the nitty-gritty of action.

One course of action is to use a number of the other concepts and methods you
already have at your disposal.
You can decide upon your objective, you can certainly plan it out, you can create fresh
ideas, and there are always a number of plans ready to be put into action in the real
world.
Some people feel that their enthusiasm will come once they have some outside
inspiration to act. They are waiting for something extraordinary to happen and create
the life of their dreams.
In most cases, this is simply prolonging the current situation, and the truth is more
common and familiar that we wish to admit.
Im sure you can relate to the situation of many people who want to make a lot of
progress and reach their goals, however they are essentially just barely getting by.
Enthusiasm comes when you see a vision of what you want to create, be do or have in
your life. It comes from within and can propel you to great success in whatever you put
your attention on.
If you use the power factors in lesson 4, and move forward with your goal in mind, you
will have abundance enthusiasm. In fact the only thing that can stop this feeling is fear
itself.
Be conscious that enthusiasm is the mark of someone on the road to success and
conveys confidence to all that see such a person. Any fear that emerges on your
journey can certainly be overcome, which the subject of the next lesson.

Lesson 6
Facing Fear
Most powerful is he who has himself in his power.
-Seneca
Fear is the biggest enemy in your quest for building total self-confidence. It is a fatal
emotion and if you let it take over the course of life, it becomes virtually impossible to
live and create the lifestyle you now dream of.
And yet, not everyone has the same reaction to fear. In fact a lot of people cope very
well with it and actually build a very successful life while generating a huge amount of
self-confidence, even in what could be considered a stressful environment.
But before we go into the details of how to overcome fear and worry, lets do a quick
review of this very real emotion called fear.
An interesting fact is that we are born with only two fears: the fear of falling and the fear
of loud noises.
So what about the others?
The fear of spiders, heights, animals, blood, water and so on. Well, we developed
those fears ourselves. That includes the biggest fear of all: the fear of failure.
When you feel any negative energy in your body, just notice how that fear shows up. Is
it the feeling of being judged or the feeling of failure?
As you ask these deeper questions, you will get a sense for what is essentially holding
you back in the moment. By honestly looking at these feelings, you will bring honesty to
the situation and open up a new world of possibilities.
Many people act most of their lives out of fear. They place a lot of focus and energy in
support of a premise or opinion that is based around fears, worry, doubts and suspicion
about the world at large.
This can relate to relationships with other people, the government, speaking to new
people, their job and so on.

This leads to a lifestyle where the aim is simply to avoid more pain. Avoiding pain
becomes the main factor in their life because the fear of further loss is so prevalent.
Why? Its because their reality continues to narrow around a very small window of
opportunity. This kills any self-confidence that they once had.
By letting your dominant thoughts narrow around the failure mindset, you are quite
literally navigating yourself to fail. You are constantly replaying the thoughts and
images of past failures in your mind when you adopt this mindset.
Check this out for yourself by answering the following questions:
Do you state, I know Ill fail before even trying?
How often do you think about failure?
Do you often think I always lose, thats just what Im like or any other reason
why you think youll fail again.
If you answered yes, then you are likely suffering because of the beliefs you have
adopted in relationship to fear. There are always going to situations which create a
sense of fear simply because you step outside your comfort zone.
In such circumstances you are moving forward, but the fear can stop you dead in your
tracks. One powerful strategy for overcoming fear is to build such a powerful vision for
your life that you face anything and step up to any challenge.
Its time to dream again!
If youve been feeling down for a while and lacked self-confidence, you may find it
difficult to dream those childhood dreams again. If this is the case do not worry. The
kind of vision I am talking about will not build up your hopes only to crush them again.
This kind of vision will drive you forward with passion and creativity.
Thats what this book has been building for you. Go back to the goal-setting lesson and
re-align yourself with your inner vision and ambition in life.

What things did I love to do when I was younger?
What sports did I really enjoy?
What were my hobbies and interests?
Which films did I watch and get exited by?
What kinds of friends would I like to have?
You are looking for something that give you such a powerful inner vision that it would
pull you away from your current behaviour. It would be something you wish to create in
your life moving forward.
Understand that nothing can hold you back from achieving total self-confidence if you
are honesty committed to it and really want to change. It is however essential that you
let go of the mistaken beliefs that that you have been holding on to as you grew up.
You must free yourself from the conditioning of society and that means releasing the
need to compare yourself with others, to conform to outside standards and to compete
with others when it is not in your best interests.
When you decide that you are committed to doing all that you can do to secure such
a life and self-confidence, then you will make the move to freedom on a mental and
emotional level.
At this point, you will glimpse your own true worth with a very important factor in
building self-confidence.
Lets continue our discussion on how to face the fear when it emerges, and then
overcome it.
Finding and Facing the Fear.
As a focused individual you should meet failure head on wherever it may emerge.
From there it can be successfully understood and defeated.
Think about the following: For you to search for success and self-confidence implies
that you already have an idea about what it is, yet you do not know exactly what it is.
If you actually knew and experienced complete success and self-confidence then you
would not continue to search after it!

If you were searching around your home for something without knowing exactly what
it was, then you would be defeating yourself. This is a similar way most people go in
search of success and self-confidence.
Besides this, you should also give your time to any condition that you are now
experiencing if you aim is to reach a successful situation.
If you current condition is failure or partial failure, then you look into this in detail to
understand it. Any other course of action will only lead to delusion, suffering and
endless frustration.
Success can be classed as what is left after you have exhausted all failures so that it
has been removed through understanding. Think of it as peeling back a shell.
It is a mistake to suppose that men succeed through success; they much oftener
succeed through failure, said Samuel Smiles.
Technique for identifying fear and crushing it
The following technique is something that is capable of crushing failure and fear of
failure whenever it seems to hold you back.
This method of facing fear and overcoming it brings results to the person who can
apply themselves but it may seem a little unusual at first. Be open-minded and give it a
try.
The method is simple and can be stated as follows:
Be willing to risk more failure than you do now!
Here is what is meant by that statement: if you are willing to risk even more failure then
you must deliberately expose yourself to new experiences where more failure is very
possible but where success is also possible!
The successful people in life are prepared to fail as often as necessary in order to
acquire the experience that will eventually lead to their desired success.
In doing so, their willingness and openness to failure is an absolute requirement to the
eventual completing of their mission of acquisition of their goal or vision.

It doesnt matter if you want to build a skyscraper or to become a champion athlete. It


doesnt matter if you want to build more confidence or becomes a public speaker.
The more you expose yourself
and face the very real possibility
of failure, the more you expose
yourself to success also!
The person who is deemed a failure is the one who never exposes him or herself. They
do this because they fear that there hard work will be worthless and so they do not
dare step into new areas of experience or new situations in life.
The lack of experience is the very thing that prevents their growth and eventual
success.
Lets take an inventory of where you can expose yourself in an effort to break through
the barriers that are holding you back from self-confidence and a powerful life.
How about emotional experiences?
If you feel something inside but are hesitant to express it to others usually, then face
that fear. Some people seem very limited in their emotional expression.
This is especially true of people who lack self-confidence.
People who are less productive are usually lacking when it comes to exposing
and expressing their feelings.
If you look at people who have given up on their dreams, you can see clearly
their dominant mood and state of mind, which accompanies them. It can be
called bitter or withdrawn or critical.
The best thing for people in this state of mind is to become fully engaged in their
natural feelings and to look at what they really want.
It is a contradiction when the person who wants love is unwilling to offer his or her own
love.

Consider that the more you suppress your natural feelings, the more failure you will
have in every area of life in which that feeling should really be an integral part.
If you cannot express your own natural enthusiasm then it is going to lead to feelings
of frustration when dealing with people, your environment, your career, and everything
else you do.
The reason for the frustration is because enthusiasm is a necessary power in all the
above areas.
It is your choice whether you wish to live in a situation of safety and comfort and not
express yourself fully, or to live in the unknown, inside the real world and face the
danger that could appear.
The first choice leads to a lack of self-confidence and a life of compromise awhile the
second leads to a successful journey in life and feelings of total self-confidence in
everything you do.
Directing your emotion for self confidence
As you will know from your own experience, it is your emotions and your states of
feeling which produce a huge amount of energy. If you feel confident and enthusiastic
then those feelings will carry you forward in line with your objectives. Yet, as you know
all to well, the negative emotions are also very powerful, and can take over in certain
instances.
It is evident that negative emotions such as resentment or bitterness will weaken your
creativity, and also the way in which fear prevents you from seeing the opportunities
that constantly surround you.
How can you control your emotions?
There are three special things you should know about for dealing with your all-powerful
feelings. Read over them a few times and you will be able to take full command.

One way of overcoming a negative emotion you do not want is to passionately


attack it with an emotion you DO want.

A stronger emotion will always overcome a weaker one.

Emotions you need to free yourself from the negative ones can be called up
and you can learn how to call them.

This power of self-direction is so useful and influential in your life that I want to ensure
that you completely understand the concept. Here are several examples that help to
clarify things.
If you feel resigned to your current position and unmotivated toward your goal for a
better life, while at the same time you wish to feel exited and exhilarated because you
know that these powers lead to advancement, what should you do?
One technique is to direct a feeling your own power against your idleness, laziness and
lack of motivation.
Take a stand in the face of the feelings. Ensure that you stand for something more
important than the feelings in the moment. You see the feelings as a costly way to live
and you openly and aggressively resent them.
Become conscious that you are tired of being lazy and settling just to feel good in
the moment (not to feel bad is more accurate!), and then follow it up by standing and
stating that you are not going to put up with laziness any longer.
If you are persistent with this method, you will feel a powerful emotion in your body.
A feeling that comes from your own defence of what you hold closest and your
willingness to defend that. To live for what you want and need.
Lets take an example in which you may be annoyed over the quality or quantity of the
work you are producing each day. Rather than giving in to the feeling, become very
aware of it.
Dont become aggressive toward your work, but instead toward your own annoyance
toward it. Use your own feelings of discouragement to stand for what you really believe
in and to build your self-image to the full power it is by nature.
If you proceed in this manner, you will get so connected to your essence as a human
being and you naturally hero inside, that you will want to rise above all painful
conditions.

You will take charge of your life once you see where the compromised thoughts are
leading you.
You have the power to change any aspect of your life and build confidence in all
circumstance by your very next choice.

Lesson 7
Stand for your values when you feel fear.
Lets examine a familiar condition which most people hate and do anything to avoid
feeling. That feeling is known as nervousness.
This feeling can cause intense pain and is one of the most terrifying of all negative
emotions. It can stop you from taking the action you would otherwise take toward your
goals in life.
There is not need to let this feeling control you any longer. There is away to overcome
and get back into the game of life.
You do not need to let it terrify and run your life. Lets see what most people do and
then look at how to overcome nervousness.
What do most people do when nervous?
Because they dont really know what to do except accept it and then try to escape from
its grip, they usually do nothing, except feel embarrassed and shake. This of course
leads to more negative feelings as they focus on it.
Here is one method that can totally change your context of nervousness.
Stand against it and stand for your own values in the face of the feelings you have in
the moment. If you can stand in the face of them then you will nullify them because you
focus on what you are in essence.
You can focus on what you value more than the feeling and begin to feel a sense that
you are not going to let anything stop you. Feel as if you want to rebel against the
feelings, as though it was trying to take something away from you.
Understand that it is taking something from you. It is taking your strength to change but
you have a power to fight it and win.
If you stand and really rebel against these feelings you do not want, you will over
power them in an amazing and really fulfilling way.

Consider that nervousness and all other unwanted feelings exist initially because you
are lacking that stand and healthy rebellion. These are the very things that you should
be fighting against with passion and conviction.
Take a stand for yourself and what you really believe in today. You will never lack selfconfidence if you do this whenever negative feelings come to the surface.

Unleashing the Power of Self-Command
Those who can command themselves can command others.

Looking around, it seems that many people feel as if they have totally lost every ounce
of control over their lives. They look at their mistakes and failures as evidence that all is
lost, or soon will be.
Have you ever felt the same way? To be honest, there may be a partial loss of personal
control however it is necessary to understand that it need only be a passing phase and
NOT a permanent condition.
The fact that something you didnt want, happened in the past, does not imply that it
is going to happen again. The two instances are not related, and the negative action
neednt continue.
It neednt continue as long as self-command is a ruling principle of your life.
It neednt continue as long as we can choose to return to a sound, confident mindset
that puts us at the centre of our reality and assumes total responsibility. In essence it
puts us in charge of our destination.
The greatest challenge we face is our own supply of deeply imbedded beliefs. Such
beliefs release unqualified ideas about place of power to control our own destiny.
After all, it is not empowering for you to think that the limited control you now have,
is all you can ever achieve. This type of thinking only weakens your initiative and
imagination in pursuit of self-expansion.
Self-command goes hand-in-hand with self-confidence. As a result, if you learn to
command yourself into certain actions then you inevitably build large reserves of selfconfidence.
Many people act with surprise when told that the control of their personal lives starts
with control of their own minds, however there is nothing which makes more sense!
Nothing was ever done without first thinking about doing it.

It is possible that the unconscious mind played a major role, however action always
starts with thought. Self-command starts with thought-command.
If you are unhappy in your current job, you may think you are incapable of landing a
more promising career.
In that moment, if you come to the realisation that your block is purely mental, you can
instruct yourself consciously with the command you only think its real.
Recent advances in brain science have proven beyond doubt that any thought which is
repeated enough, is accepted as true by the unconscious mind. And, the unconscious
mind is the power centre of your brain.
So heres what happens
The unconscious mind begins working to bring about the conditions that relate to your
most dominant thoughts. This is self-evident in your current reality.
The best thing is that by understanding this concept, you will quickly stop any negative
thoughts before they dampen your self-confidence.
And thats not all. You can actually generate the feeling of self-confidence in the
moment when you become clear.
Heres what you should do:
1. Become clear that it is simply a thought. (That you are incapable.)
2. Understand that your negative thoughts are what are holding you back.
3. Know thats it is not your lack of ability or anything else!
4. Get so clear that you feel an inner drive to rise up and continue to act in line with
your values. (In this case to search for a better job.)
If you follow this simple process, you will be surprised at how fast you can overcome
thoughts and feelings that now hold you back. Also, you will discover that fresh
opportunities will begin to show up much sooner than you thought.
Its not magic its simply your brain bringing your conscious awareness to the goal
you gave it through repetition.

Now, every time you feel as if you have lost your power of self-direction, you can
simply fight the negative thought by stating you only think its real.
Leading yourself Controlling your thoughts.
Leading yourself in the direction you ultimately want to take will lead to an abundance
of self-confidence. In order to do this, you must control your thoughts.
You may think this is outside your current control, but let me show you how easy it
can be to control your thoughts and put them on the attention of what you really want
without them wandering off!
This elusive power for self-command is abundant, absolutely essential, and yet many
people neglect to direct it consciously.
As a way to experience this in reality, please play along with the following experiment.
It will be practical as well as interesting.
1. Think about a recent event that made you feel happy. Focus on it briefly and feel
good for a moment or two.
2. Now forget about the event and focus on a piece of clothing you are wearing.
Spend a few seconds studying its colour and material.
3. Now forget about the clothing and concentrate your thoughts on a far-away
scene.
4. Create the mental picture (in your mind) of the great outdoors, holiday scene or
maybe somewhere you would like to visit.
5. Now remove the mental picture from your mind and continue reading.
Thats the end of the experiment.
The reason for performing it was to remind you of one of your most flexible and clever
powers that is your attention. The first important thing to notice is how easily and
authoritatively you shifted from one area of concentration to another.

Nothing at all stood in your way; your mind went wherever you commanded it.
This conclusively proves that you do have control over the direction of your thoughts.
Rather than seeing them as problem causers and self-confidence blockers, you can
see how it is possible to control your own thoughts. You have always had this power, it
just may be that you did not realise the control was yours.
In other words, you were not aware of your own control power.
Its a real light bulb moment when you finally awaken to the realisation that you have
the ability to create and maintain your own thoughts and mindset with the things you
really wants there. Your attention may be flexible and change in an instant, but it is also
obedient. All it takes is the command from you when you know youre in command!
You command your thoughts, situation and develop total self-confidence. Dont forget
or neglect the power that you have over yourself and your future.
It is possible to become careless about the natural forces that you have at your
disposal. Some people wait all their lives for natural human powers they have owned
all along. Now is the time to claim ownership!
How important is attention for boosting your self-confidence?
It is hard to overemphasise the role of attention and what it could do for you if it were
consistently refocused to what you wanted to achieve.
The barriers you feel are so firm and fixed would not remain if you applied this principle
with honest effort. When you turn your attention to finding and using the good that lies
within a seeming negative, you face and overcome the challenge itself and bring full life
and fulfilment to all situations.
This is a great secret of effortless living and brings a feeling of total self-confidence.
There is no doubt at all that your habitual attention to something moulds you into the
kind of person you are. If you start to match the dominant flow of your daily thoughts
(negative, failure focussed, resigned, happy, exited, motivated, etc) with your normal
behaviour you will always find them similar.

Attention can be compared to a kind of mental glue in that you get stuck with what you
concentrate your thoughts on. This can be very good in certain circumstances, but not
so good in others, depending on the situation and the objects on which you fix your
attention on.
If you begin to focus on what you want, you will certainly get it. However, understand
that your focus must be steadfast and strong so that you block out any distractions that
may take the form of impatience or worry.
The person who can adopt such an approach will command all the self-confidence they
want and make themselves known.
Lesson Review Unleashing the Power of Self-Command
As a quick review, keep in mind these steps to self-command.
1. Get present to your control over yourself and understand that you can seriously
increase it this is a logical fact.
2. Understand that your own self-command is your own power, which cannot be
taken by anyone without your permission. Only you can give it away.
3. Whenever you hear a thought which says you cannot do that, come to the
realisation that your block is purely mental, you can instruct yourself consciously
with the command you only think its real.
4. Dont compromise on what you want from life. Dont settle for less that you want
to please someone or to feel accepted. Go for what you really want.
5. If you are having difficulties with a particular job then take a moment to see
where you are giving up your authority over that job. Find the cause and remove
it, and then move on!
6. Practice keeping your attention solely on one single job for a number of hours.
Look for the results of using the principle of total focus to one specific task.
7. Remember that people in command of themselves always have the best time in
terms of achieving what they want, regales of the circumstances.

Amazing Affirmations
You should create affirmations to help you to generate the desires and outcomes of all
the goals and things you want to achieve in your life. You can have affirmations in any
number of areas of life.
For example, relationships, careers, money, health, fitness etc
Your goal should be detailed and defined so that you know exactly what you are
working toward and you can correct you path as you move forward. It is also good to
see how far you have come. If it is not specific these factors are difficult to judge.
To bring about maximum results from your affirmations, it is advisable and
recommended that you set them up in accordance with a number of guidelines. You
can deviate if you wish, but to begin with, try out the following method and see how that
goes. With perseverance you can create your own refined method.
This helps to ensure you achieve maximum success.
Remember to practice your affirmations at a specific time of day that you have set
aside. This helps to establish a pattern and will prevent you from compromising on this
system for change.
Affirmations should be in the present tense
Affirmations are far more effective when they are written, spoken and heard in the
present tense.
For example:
- I want to have a new house. (Future tense)
- I now have a beautiful new home in the country. (Present tense)
Is it best to avoid affirming something in the future tense as it seems like youre waiting
for the objective or goal to happen. It seems like you never actually expect it to be
brought and experienced in reality.

Affirmations should be Positive


Your affirmations will be more powerful in the most positive way you can engineer
them. You should avoid negative statements.
Affirm what you DO WANT, instead of what you DONT WANT!
For example:
- I want to be healthy and eat a balanced diet. (Positive form)
- I dont want to be sick and fat (negative form)
Affirmations should be personal
To have the best effect on your entire being, which means your conscious and
non-conscious minds, it helps if your affirmations feel right for you. It should not be
something that you think would be good, or would impress other people.
A good way to test this out is by sensing the emotions when you speak the affirmation
out loud. Check for the feelings it conveys. If you can make your affirmation statements
emotional you will move towards the goals much faster and develop an inner fire that
drives you onwards.
Keep the affirmations short and simple
This makes the affirmations easier to say and remember, to allow them to penetrate
into the non-conscious brain. If they are long-winded and difficult to repeat on a
consistent basis, you will not make much of an impression.
Keep the specific to your goal. This will add emphasis and power to the statement and
removes any unnecessary words.
Keep persisting with your affirmations
Regular practicing and repetition will bring results much quicker than a one time, or
irregular effort. Momentum and constant sessions will build a strong foundation and
compound the effect of repetition.

Make the affirmations emotional


We touched on this above; however ensure that this is a strong part of the affirmation.
Repeating a statement without any emotion does nothing. It must resonate with you in
order to stimulate action. Get passionate about what you want, and choose your words
carefully.
Remember that the aim is to improve your own a life and self-confidence so make this
a top priority and get involved emotionally!
Repetition, Repetition, Repetition!
This is the last point but certainly the key factor. Without repetition you quickly lose
your purpose and vision for creating the dreams you want ot have,
It cannot be emphasised enough. It will literally have the image imprinted into your
brain, which will create a new automatic action strategy.

Positive thinking is a way to look at a situation and see the positive side of it, rather
than focusing on the negative. This leads to constructive action rather than a negative
solution that usually leads to nothing.
Many people think positive thinking is a waste of time, however they forget that with
positive action it is very powerful. Staying positive even in the most pressured situation
will help enormously in building self-confidence. You will be focused on the god that is
within you rather than seeing how you have failed in the past.
If you notice the good, you begin to attract more of the same. Remember that what you
focus on will be brought forward through greater awareness.
Stated simply: like attracts like. This is a scientific fact.
It is important to know that you have everything you need to succed. You simply need
to bring it out into the world. Keep your mind on what you want and what you already
have, rather than on what you dont have.

Declare what you can do not what you cant do.
Develop a personal resolve to be everything that you can be in life.
Dont settle for what you can

If you have the habit of always seeing the negative side, you can reverse this process
in an instant by realising that you have the power to do so.
Affirmations and positive thinking affect your brain and program your subconscious,
just as your negative thinking has been doing for year.
Why do you think you repeatedly see the negative side? Is it because you have
repeated the same thoughts and words for years and years?
And what a result has that led to?
Now, what would happen if you reversed that process?
Think about what is right with you right now
Can you generate a list of everything that is good and right with you?
Take the time to create that list and list everything that you can think of. No one will se
it but you; so dont miss anything because it seems silly.
Keep that list on your person and refer to it regularly, especially when you feel the
urge to complain or become negative. It is a good idea to add to the list on a daily
basis also.

qualities.
Speak in ways that inspire you and the people you have conversations with. Express
yourself in ways that convey enjoyment and see how they respond. You will begin to
see a change in people as they reciprocate with positive expression also.

How to be decisive and self-confident
Decisiveness can have an extraordinary effect on your self-confidence alone. A few
benefits that come naturally once you make up your mind are as follows.
First of all, if you decide on situations and ideas for right or for wrong, you will be able
to instantly to turn your full attention and energy toward your next progressive step
in line with your goal. Being free from something, you are free for creating something
brand new.
Indecision is like a merry-go-round because you get nowhere and you waste precious
time in the process. Decisiveness, on the other hand, is like a sightseeing bus where
you are free to travel beyond the last known places to exciting new environment, which
you have never explored before.
You are already aware that quick decisions and choices save you time and energy.
Contrast this with people who complain that there is not enough time or they have no
energy. Such people usually them by going back and forth endlessly between their
possible choices.
All-around efficiency will be yours once you know what you want and take action to get
it in the simplest way. The decisive personality wins self-esteem, and admiration from
others.
In actual fact, many people believe that there is nothing as important as someone who
is strong when making decisions. It is seen as a mark of character. Look at may of the
leaders in life, and you will see that majority of them know their own mind and stick to it
when they see what needs to be done in a set of given circumstances.
An unsettled mind causes negative stress and contradictions to rise. The more
someone like this attempts to solve the problem, the deeper they sink into despair.
If you ever find yourself trapped and cannot seem to break through a problem, it makes
sense to stop thinking so hard. The more you struggle against confusion, the more it
persists. Some people are prone to over analyse.
Lets look at it this way: making a decision is a calm, confident use of the brain in
pursuit of a certain direction.

There is no need for a lot of brainpower or effort because the decision itself does not
need to involve all the plans at this time.
You only need to decide that you are ready to proceed along a chosen path in line with
your values.
As soon as you make this decision, you will discover that the how to aspect takes
care of itself. It is the natural next step.
The reason for this is because as a human being, you are far more resourceful at
finding the way to create a successful path, than you may currently believe.
Dont confuse cause with effect.
Your decision is the cause.
Your resources are the effect dont get this backwards!
The ideas to succeed and move down the road to success and self-confidence come
from a mind that has been made up. That means one that made a commitment.
If you are waiting for courage in order to make up your mind, you will be waiting an
entire lifetime.
Indeed, if it took courage to build decisiveness, many of us would be failures already.
However, this is not the case, in fact you can never be a failure.
The exact opposite is true:

Decision builds courage.

You can find the way to solve any problem, that is your nature.
Dont let the silly details get you down. The little details that you may be straining over
have nothing to do with resolution to get the project complete, or to achieve a certain
result.
All the details that bother you are secondary conditions that you have incorrectly
placed at the front of the queue.

This is the factor that weakens and slows your progress. You decision to do, be or
have is the primary concern and comes first. If you will stay firm and hold that image in
your mind as the first task, you will be amazed at your progress and the so-called little
details will seems to vanish as if they were never there.
Here are the key factors for being decisive and building self-confidence:
1. Decide that you are more powerful than you now think.
You only need to think logically and look around to see that you have inner qualities
that have been rarely shown. Perhaps only a few times in the past. You dont need to
have faith or hope, only a solid conviction and acceptance.
You will begin to live with more power and confidence once you accept and realise that
a timid viewpoint about yourself is false when you look at your underlying make-up as a
human being.
You can use your natural powers of creation only if you realise them and know what
they are. You serve no one by being shy and timid. You must want to grow and use
what you have to offer.
You can either be as strong and powerful as you are or alternatively, as weak and
feeble as you are. The choice is yours to make. I know you will make the best choice!
2. Decide with conviction, that you will no longer waste your energy.
You know from experience that you can use either a constructive or a destructive force.
You cannot use both at the same time.
Looking at the destructive power of worry (one of the most wasteful of all forces), we
see that the worried mind is incapable of anything constructive. It leads to actions that
align to the force itself. By that I mean it gives rise to misguided actions, unsatisfactory
situations and moments that leave you feeling less that happy sand confident.
Worry is wasted effort and cost you strength that could be put into constructive action.
These are simply facts that everyone can relate to.

In order to not worry about situations and circumstances you should practice the
following:
3. Decide to practice Constructive Self-interest.
This does not mean should become full of yourself or build a huge ego.
But, you should come into relations with Constructive Self-interest. This power repels
any worry you may have and any other negative feeling and emotion that would
certainly damage your confidence and ultimate happiness.
This force is little known and understood. If you can grasp the significance of this force,
you will be a leader of yourself and also seen as lead in amongst other people.
What does Constructive Self-interest really mean?
In simple language it mean that you put your own best interests first with your full
conviction and self worth.
There are times when you might believe that are acting in your best interests, however
you could be doing the exact opposite.
If you use the principle correctly, it will lead to power and happiness. In an egocentric
form (the opposite of its true meaning) it will lead to lack and unhappiness.
An example of worry.
When you worry constantly about something that is important or that you are engaged
in, what you are really doing is placing a negative emotion first not yourself.
You would be wrong to think that you are placing yourself first in this situation. You are
not. Worry is coming first because you are focusing on it primarily.
If you worry because you dont know how to do anything else to handle the situation,
then try the following. Instead of worrying, place your peace of mind first instead of the
problem. Do this with some determination though. If you do this then you will notice
amazing things happening.

Another example is the person who allows past failures to take over their mind. In such
a situation he is only serving to weaken his resolve and self-confidence. He believes
certain truths and allows this process to happen again and again so the guilty feeling
continues to be present.
If this person used the act of Constructive Self-interest he would totally free himself
from the past conditioning and the tormenting images in his mind. That single act could
free him in ways he never imagined.
It is certainly not selfish to use self-interest. Indeed it is a true fact that the more you
use such a a principle in your life, the more you get what you want from your life, the
more you will contribute to the world around you.
If you are free from the negative effect of the mind, then you can add more values to
the world than the person that is never free from such problems. Understand that you
hep the world enormously when you hep yourself.
The key is use this power in your daily life. If you do you see staggering results in your
self-confidence and in your desire to be more than you are right now.
How to be Decisive. Key points:
1.

Make up you mind and control your circumstances.

2.

A definite choice is al that is needed to grow. You do not need to know the
entire plan right away.

3.

Use the power for your good rather than putting it off until tomorrow or waiting
for a better opportunity.

Start now, today. If you wait for something to happen, you will be waiting
forever.

6.

If you are totally lost for ideas, then simply move ahead. Make the decision
and move forward.

Dont get worried about all the little complex issues of how to complete your
plan. The decision to do it is all you need for now.

How Brain Science brings Self-confidence
You know the excuses so many people use, things like:
I cant help the way I act, thats just who I am
I never get anything right
There is no way I can get that job; Im just no good at interviews
I cant approach that man/ woman, I just dont have the nerve
Well, after reading this lesson, they will no longer be valid. You will not be able to use
those excuses ever again!
Introducing the incredible world of brain science. From 1990 to 2000 was declared the
decade of the brain. The goal of the neuroscience industry was to learn as much as
possible about how the human brain works! We know more about he brain than ever
before and the scientific advances that have been made in understanding the brain are
now changing how we think. So now, you are going to have change the way you think!
We now have enhanced scan and imaging techniques and equipment like functional
MRI scans and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) imagery equipment.
We can now see how your brain functions! We can also see how advances in brain
science directly manipulate how you approach the subject of self-confidence. It is
possible to expand your belief system and improve your capacity for success in all
areas of life.
A process called Brain Plasticity demonstrates that your brain is constantly creating
new connections and new neuron patterns. This happens constantly throughout the
day (each second, minute and hour of the day).
This new research flies in the face of what used to be believed about your brain being
hard-wired from birth. We now know that you are not only a product of your genetics,
and therefore champions and successful people are made and not born that way!
In effect, you are actually a totally different person from yesterday because your
thoughts change and create new neuron connections, and your capacity is virtually

This lesson explores:
A process called Brain Plasticity.
How the brain causes new connections and why you keep doing the same things,
even though you know they are not good for you.
How negative thoughts are formed and why human are negative from birth.
How to overcome this negative programming and engineer our own self-talk for
success and self-confidence.
During a process called Brain Plasticity the following happens:
Brain cells (neurons) constantly make structural changes in the brain.
These structural changes form new synaptic connections with other neurons.
This creates new neuron pathway patterns at the exact time you are learning or
thinking or forming a new memory!
This all shows that your brain is constantly changing.
Building self-confidence starts with changing your thoughts and then leads to changing
your actions. When this begins to happen, the emotions you feel will overwhelm you
and allow for much freer expression in everything you do.
Learning about brain science will greatly aid your mission and allow you to understand
the cause of poor self-confidence at a very scientific level.
Your self-talk
Your self-talk and your thoughts determine how you feel about yourself. They
determine whether or not you feel confident in any given situation. By recognising that
you are constantly capable of change, you begin to see how your own self-confidence
is under your own control. It is nothing outside of yourself.
You do not need to have, be or do anything other that recognise your thoughts when
they are negative. Learn to become a watcher of what you say to yourself.
Make a commitment to start watching what type of new neuron connections you are
creating (by what you think and say).

Are they positive thoughts and memories which provide you with many opportunities
or are they negative? Remember that your brain holds the key to unlimited selfconfidence so start to watch your thoughts.
If you are thinking or saying negative things on a regular basis, it becomes very easy
for new neuron impulses to move down the same well-worn chemical highways each
time you think. This is how habits are formed in the brain.
If you keep repeating the same thoughts in your brain, they will keep travelling down
the same negative pathways. Think of it like a walkers path that is formed in the forest.
The more times people walk down the same strip of land, the easier it becomes to walk
on and see next time.
Its physiologically easier for the negative thoughts (neurons) to fire and take the
negative pathways in the brain, which means you are very likely to keep getting the
same poor results in your life.
This may be an amazing fact, but scientists say that humans spend three quarters of
our time thinking and talking in negative ways. That only leaves 25 per cent that are
positive.
Take a test see how many thoughts and words are negative.
See if you 75% of you thoughts are negative, on average.
Are you operating at a better percentage?
Take notes and analyse them at the end of the day and week.
Bring more awareness to what you say and think during the day it is affecting
your brain at a core level!
If you find that you are operating at 75 per cent or higher negative thoughts, then dont
be too downbeat. This is a natural way of being for humans.
In fact, scientists have discovered that it is evolution that has caused this process to
occur. It is biologically normal to be this way, but that does not mean we should settle
for this. We can change.

Remember thousands of years ago when humans had to fight to survive; the brain
was formed with a capacity for survival. It is our most basic instinct. We needed to be
warned about new dangers in order to avoid them.
Today, that is not needed and needs to be overcome. Being negative is normal through
evolution; so dont beat yourself up about it. You are going to get past this phase in this
lesson.
So, you need to learn to stop your negative thought patterns before they are impressed
on your brain and create the neuron patterns of negativity.
You aim to let those paths of negative neuron patterns become disused and barren
from non-use and make them fade away so that your new thoughts (in the form of
neurons) cannot access those pathways like they could before.
This is what the scientists call raising the firing threshold of your negative patterns.
So how can you overcome the natural negativity?
You must learn to change the way you speak to yourself and turn any negative in to a
positive. This process is called self-talk engineering.
Hers what you need to do:
1. You must stop every negative neuron pattern before it reaches you nonconscious brain.
2. You must endeavour to let those neuron pathways go unused by not firing any
negative thoughts.
3. If they are not used, your tendency to be always negative will start to fade way.
You will begin to fire and create positive pathways.
4. Crating positive pathways and firing positive thoughts and neuron patterns
creates new habits this is what you want to consciously build. This is the key!

5. Imagine if you can get the positive negative balance to be even, to provide a
50/50 split. How would that change your habits and results in life?
6. Because we have been negative for thousands of years it is not a quick thing to
fix. The question is: how long will you pay attention to each and every thought
and stop the negatives when they arise?
How long does it take to change your habits?
You goal is to notice every time a negative thought comes into your mind and then to
change it into a positive though. This means relying on self-talk during the day also.
Well, it has been scientifically proven that it take 3 to 4 weeks to rewire your brain and
form new habit patterns.
So for three to four weeks - thats 30 days you will have to focus on your self-talk and
stop it whenever you notice a negative.
But dont simply cut out the negative thought. No, you must replace it with a positive
statement.
But, the statement must have a certain structure and sequence to it. It is important that
you phrase your self-talk in certain way.
The brain sees in pictures and patterns of images.
This means that you cannot just say anything positive. Your brain will focus on exactly
what you instruct it, when done with repetition and emotion.
A good example of this is as follows:
Do not instruct yourself by saying, whatever you do, dont miss this penalty (sports
example).
Why?
Because your brain sees and thinks in images, therefore it sees you missing the
penalty. Think about it, in order to not miss the penalty, you have to mentally imagine
missing it first.

If I say to you, Whatever you do, DO NOT think about a green elephant! What do you
automatically see? A green elephant!
Do you see how that works? If you understand this concept, you will be on your way to
using the brain science techniques for success and boosting your self-confidence.
Think about the ways you instruct yourself now. Are they similar to the above?
The power of the unconscious brain
The unconscious portion of the brain accounts for five sixths of the entire brain. That
means that one sixth is the conscious part. This is yet another reason to be careful with
your self-talk.
If you instruct yourself to not miss the penalty, the five sixths of your brain see you
missing the penalty. Only one sixth sees you scoring it. Now, basic maths tells us that
the odds are in the favour of the 5 parts versus the single conscious part.
To put this into context with the above example, your brain would create a 5 out of 6
chance that you will positively miss the penalty.
You MUST choose your self-talk very carefully with science in mind, because your nonconscious brain cannot separate real from imagined images (thoughts). Five sixths of
your brain will think the real object is negative and that is what you will get.
So, when you create affirmations (self-talk) ensure that you use a positive statement,
stated in positive way. DO NOT use a positive statement sated in a negative way (see
the examples above for clarity.)
If you want to be thin, then say, I am now thin. Do not say, I dont want to be fat.
If you say the second statement, five sixths of your brain will turn your imagined
experience into reality and do whatever it can to make you fat!
Habit creation
Learning new habits is key to successful living and an abundance of self-confidence.
Image if you could create anew habit in 30 days time which gave you the confidence to
speak in public, or to ask that person for a date, or whatever else you want.
Well you can certainly achieve that, and brain science can help you to form these
habits.

Remember that it takes about 30 days to forma new habit, but you must practice each
day.
We are going to talk about replacing your old negative neuron patterns with positive
neuron patterns.
The ways to learn new habits are:
1. Repetition
2. Association
3. Emotion
You can put your habit creation on the fast track by using a method called self-talk or
affirmations. You have probably heard of this in the past. But brain science will show
you how and why it works if set-up correctly.
Here is what you need to do, in order to make them work.
Must repeat the affirmations for three to four weeks, 3-5 times a day, EVERY day.
You need to concentrate on the positive thoughts with emotion.
Your affirmation must be in the present tense.
Your affirmation must be believable.
Your affirmation must bring with it an image that is positive and also stated in a
positive way.
If you follow this pattern for the stated timeframe then you will see fantastic success.
Also, you will not need more than a maintenance level of effort in the following weeks
to simply stay on the new positive-habit way of life.
If you follow the guidance given above, you will be giving yourself a scientific method
for success.

You will be creating a lower firing threshold for your positive neurode patterns each
day, and therefore changing the automatic firing of new neurons (thoughts).
You will discover that if you maintain the formula provided above, your positive
thoughts become almost automatic, just like your current negative ones are now!
Brain Science Facts to create success and self-confidence.
Scientists have proven that your non-conscious levels of thought (five of the six layers
of thinking) do not operate under the same conditions as your conscious thoughts.
In fact, your conscious thoughts get filtered through your reality, perception and social
values before you access them and consciously think the thought see it as an image
in your mind.
Non-conscious thoughts have no filters at all.
Non-conscious neuron patterns (thoughts) move across parts of the brain at speeds of
80 to 800 times faster than conscious neuron patterns!
What this means is that your non-conscious brain does not distinguish between
imaginary and real thoughts. It does not know if you are observing something in reality
if simply thinking about it.
This is fantastic news for raising your self-confidence levels. You can imagine yourself
as you would be in a given situation. How you would act with poise and power, and
your brain thinks this is happening!
Repeat this often enough, (as stated in the above formula) and you will change your
brain structure in three to four weeks. You can become very self-confident in that time
by using brain science techniques.
Any pictures that you give your non-conscious brain are taken as complete reality. But
better still, when you focus on an image or visualise a situation to stimulate your nonconscious brain it continues to work for twenty-four hours each and every day of the
year. It is trying to make that image a fact in the real world. It seeks to make everything
you give it, a reality!
Use that to your advantage.

difference between real and imagined

information is accurate. It is up to you to use it and build your life to the highest level
you can think of.
Instant changes that affect Self-Confidence
1.

Your posture tells others how much you value yourself. If you have poor
posture and walk in a tired and lethargic manner it tends to display a lack
of confidence. People with confidence have a straight back and keep their
head up to form good posture. They also make eye contact with people when
speaking to them. Practice your posture in front of a mirror and improve upon
it.

2.

The clothes you wear convey an image to other people, which can affect the
reaction you receive from others. Not only that but the clothes you wear also
effects how you feel. If you know that you are not looking good, you tend to
hold yourself in a less confident manner. Likewise, if you have just bought
a new suit, then you feel like a million dollars and act accordingly. This also
relates to your appearance. If you shave, wash and are generally neat, then
you feel more self-confident than when you feel scruffy and out of fashion.

Listen to inspiring people. This is a great way to feel confident in an instant.


You can buy dvds of motivational speakers which inspire you to be more than
you are now.

Speaking louder than usual is a great way to feel more confident, and a side
effect is that people tend to take notice of you. Most people who suffer from
low confidence levels speak quietly because they think that people will judge
them. By speaking louder that usual to allow others to clearly hear, you will
not only improve your public speaking, but you will be more grounded in your
ideas and thoughts.

Taking care of your body and working out has a huge effect on selfconfidence. Not only do you feel more energetic and full of energy, but also
by being in good shape, you naturally feel more confident. You improve your
physical looks and appearance which overcomes insecurities.

Have gratitude for what you have. As you know by now, what you focus on
expands. By focusing on what you dont have, you only think about your
weakness. Looking at what you have will being confident feelings that you can
create more of the same and be motivated to get into action.

Concentrate on finding your goal, then concentrate on reaching it.

which brings happiness and every type of good emotion imaginable.
You will begin to get a sense of your natural purpose in life. Maybe you will feel a sense
of belonging like never before. Remember that you are a hero in life. The fact that you
are alive right now and reading this book is a reason to celebrate and move forward.
You can walk a heros path in life. You can be pulled forward by an inner calling to
stand for something. Are you ready to stand for your own values even in the face of
what others might say about you?
The life of a creator awaits you and all you have to do is step onto the mat and play.
Understand that in this very moment, you are on the journey of your life. A journey
which can take any direction you choose. But you must be willing to take control of the
wheel. If you dont, then you will be taken round in circles by the autopilot.
Every insight you make into your life and your purpose feels right, doesnt it? It feels
like you are taking back powers that may have been dormant for years.

It may not come all at once, but the awakenings never stop, they keep returning to you

was once lost.
Think about the movie The Gladiator. He loses everything and his reason for going
on is to bring justice to his family. He feels he has a mission to complete in life and he
does it.
Have you found a mission big enough to stir your soul and drive you to the greatest
effort you have ever made? Somewhere inside you it lays, ready to be let out.
Is there something you have lost as a result of your past habits and way of life?
If you could bring that into your everyday life, what sort if an impact would that have on
you and your vision for the future?
If you feel stuck in your present circumstances, then I am calling you to rise up and
stand for your own life and happiness. You have seen the programming that is still
present for you and now you have many tools to overcome this.
Imagine what your life will be like in another 5 years, if you continue down the same
path.
Is that an attractive option?

destined to lead. You can climb to the top of the mountain and face all that stands in
your way now.
Also, consider all that stands in your way are the thoughts and feelings in your body

the self-confidence you want. The pathway to freedom lies right in front of you. It is
your choice and your chance to rise up and live the great life, the life you truly desire!
