Device Indication

The device has a two-color LED, on the front side, to indicate its operating status. The LED indicators
help users identify the power status, connectivity, and operations of the device.

Driver Installation

Once Hostless dongle is plugged onto any Windows platform, a pop-up window, as below, will appear
for users to proceed with driver installation.

Click Run loader.exe to begin.

Installation

Once installation completes, click Done button to close.

Setup Wizard will automatically open the Subscriber Page during or after installation as following,

In the future, whenever the dongle is plugged, Subscriber Page will pop-up automatically, shown as
below,

Hostless Web-based Interface

Empowered by RNDIS, Green Packet Hostless Solution makes user experience more than
plug-and-play. Depending on the service carrier, you may need to enter the Username (i.e. Login ID)
and Password that your service provider assigns to you.
If it is not necessary to provide Username and Password, you can access Wireless connectivity using
any type of Internet Browser right after the RNDIS driver installation completes without any further
action.
To see the detailed connection information on Wireless, LAN, and WAN, please type
http://10.2.3.254 in the address bar as below:

Tip

It is suggested to bookmark Hostless Login/Status page (http://10.2.3.254) for easy access in the
future.

When any Green Packet Hostless device is connected to Laptop/PC, you can always type
http://hostless/ at the address bar from the Internet Browser to redirect to Hostless Login/Status
page.

Notice: If the Wireless signal is weak, adjust the device to another direction or move closer to
the window for enhanced reception.

Software Upgrade

Green Packet Hostless Solution will automatically detect if there is any software update released from
your service provider. With the intelligent mechanism, you can successfully upgrade the software
with no need to manually select any option from the menu.

Troubleshooting

Q1: LED does not light up when the device is connected to Laptop/PC.

Make sure UH Hostless dongle is securely connected to Laptop/PC. Check the USB port to
make sure the USB dongle is securely connected to the laptop. Or, use another USB port and
try again.

Q2: LED does not blink when the device is connected on the Login/Status page (http://10.2.3.254).

When the device is connected to Laptop/PC for the first time, the RNDIS driver will
automatically installed without any manual intervention. By then, the LED should blink in
RED; if not, please contact local distributors or service operators.

Q3: Unable to connect to the Wireless network or Internet with the device being securely connected
to Laptop/PC.

Check the signal strength from the Login/Status page (http://10.2.3.254) and make sure it is,
in effect, within the Wireless service coverage. Also, ensure the Username and Password is
correct. If the problem still persists, please contact local distributors or service operators.

Device Safety Notice

The operating temperature is 0~40; do not store the device in extremely high or cold
temperature. High temperatures can shorten the life of electronic devices, damage
batteries, and warp or melt certain mechanical parts. When the device has been warmed
up to its normal temperature from cold temperatures, moisture can form insides the
devices and damage electronic components.

Do make sure keep the device away from precipitation, humidity, and all types of liquid or
moisture contain the minerals that corrode electronic circuits.

The device and any of its accessories should be kept away from children.

Do not use or store the device in dusty or dirty areas in order not to damage any
sophisticated electronic components.

Do not attempt to open the device.

Do handle/transport the device with caution in order not to damage any sophisticated
electronic component or mechanical part.

Do not use any chemical, cleaning solvent, or strong detergent to clean the device. Only
use soft, clean and dry cloth to clean the device surface.

Do not disconnect/unplug UH Hostless device from Laptop/PC during the automatic


software upgrade process.
