3.6-118
With its large 118 meter rotor diameter and elevated hub height of
125 meters, the new MERVENTO 3.6-118 turbine catches the wind
where the conditions are the best for a leveled and more efficient
power generation. You can produce more energy from the same
available wind. The solution delivers a remarkable capacity and
yield that allows you to operate profitably even at less viable
nearshore and onshore sites with medium and low winds.
The MERVENTO 3.6-118 turbine is designed for wind class IEC
IIA with an extended temperature range for operation in cold and
harsh climates, typically the coastal areas in Nordic countries.
The 3.6-118 includes a number of innovations never before seen
in the wind business. All technical solutions are optimized for the
MERVENTO wind turbine, and the level of component integration
is high.
All components in the power train are highly efficient. The Direct
Drive medium voltage permanent magnet generator ensures
a wider operating range and reduced power losses. All own use
drives are equipped with frequency converters in order to cut back
internal energy consumption even further.
The full-power converter with STATCOM capability provides
excellent grid support with ensured future grid compliance. It
also helps reduce drivetrain loads and enables increased power
generation over a greater range of wind speeds.
The turbine availability exceeds 97% due to highly reliable
technical solutions. High availability combined with the un
precedentedly efficient cyclic pitch operation raises the MERVENTO
3.6-118 to the top of its power class.

That is why the turbine production in real life is usually lower than indicated by
calculations based on a sales power curve.
Due to the emphasis on high output and low losses, the power curve of
MERVENTO 3.6-118 is the best in its power class. The Mervento power curve
is given at the turbine station outgoing feeder terminals for a 20 kV step-up
transformer. It includes all losses and represents the true power output to the
grid 100% net.
