Cambridge CELTA Course Language Awareness Task

Please note that your written English as well as the content of your answers
forms part of our evaluation of your application.
Section 1: Learning and Teaching
Here are some statements about English language learning and teaching. Which
ones do you agree with? Choose the one of statements and discuss your views in
the box below.
1) Grammatical accuracy should be the main focus of English language
lessons.
2) Good actors should be good teachers because they are used to having an
audience.

3) A good learner will expect to be corrected every time they make a mistake.
4) A good teacher will know the answers to any language questions that
occur in a lesson.
I do not agree with any of the above statements. In my opinion, confidence in
conversation should be the main focus of English Language Lessons, because
students can learn grammatical lessons anywhere, but if they are not confident in
their use, they wont be able to communicate.
To be a good teacher, you need a pedagogical luggage and not only ability to deal
public as actors.
In my opinion, what makes a good student is his/her confidence and dedication in
learning the language. Often when the teacher points out several times the
mistakes of students, without raising successes, we discourage the student in
learning the language. While making the teacher a good professional is his
dedication to his/her students, always seeking to improve their knowledge and
teaching techniques.
Section 2: Error Correction
Identify the incorrect sentences and provide an explanation for the error you find
(you should use simple language to explain the error imagine you are explaining
it to a student). Supply the corrected version.
1) Do you know what is the answer?

2) This pasta is very delicious.

3) I could do everything I planned in this lesson.

4) How long do you know him?

5) Thank God! The course is over!

3) fun X funny

4) shopping centre X department store
