Reduce import complexity and consolidate product data scattered across multiple
repositories with an intuitive, graphical import tool.
Business Requirements
The amount, variety, and detail of non-transactional data are
growing rapidly. Organizations often store product data in various
languages and different formats in multiple repositories. This
creates information gaps for the various groups who need to use
this information including marketing, sales, finance, human resources, and IT and results in inconsistent branding, sales, and
marketing efforts. In order to ensure complete and accurate product information, companies must be able to aggregate data from
multiple sources and fill in the gaps. For organizations seeking to
implement a successful omni-channel sales and communications
strategy, this is a must.
Importing data from various systems into a central application
is, however, a complex task that requires detailed knowledge of
creating and maintaining import files. These import processes are
often handled by the IT department or even by an external service.
This means that product managers and other business users are
dependent on support from outside parties to import needed data,
which can result in delayed availability even for small amounts of
data.
Solution
hybris Import Cockpit is designed to reduce import complexity to
enable business users to create import mappings with an intuitive
GUI tool. By consolidating and validating heterogeneous nontransactional data and reducing and normalizing redundant data,
the company benefits from improved overall data quality as well
as increased efficiency in data management efforts. The hybris
Import Cockpit achieves this while avoiding extensive and complex integration efforts. The flexible and high-performing Import
Cockpit integrates with multiple data sources and supports the
easy and rapid integration of vast amounts of product data from a
central location. Import mappings enable you to easily load large
volumes of data from a variety of external sources into the hybris
application as a flat CSV file; you can also attach files and define
import parameters. The Import Cockpit enables you to manage,
configure, run, cancel, and monitor import jobs. Data mapping is
as easy as dragging data columns to the mapping area to assign
them to the appropriate hybris data structure; the mapping area
displays a complete list of mapping entries to show the correlation between the hybris type attribute and the source column.
