The undersigned has probable cause to believe the above-named defendant on the

On 1/9/2015 at approximately 2056 hours, I, Officer Michael Mislang (18934) was on patrol in the area of West Jefferson Street and Garden
Avenue. I observed a white two door vehicle bearing FL tag JUICE28 traveling southbound on Garden Avenue approaching the intersection
with West Jefferson Street. I observed this vehicle fail to stop at the stop sign at the above reference intersection. The vehicle just drove
through the stop sign and proceeded to turn left (east) onto West Jefferson Street. I conducted a traffic stop at West Pine Street and South
Parramore Avenue and the following events occurred.
I approached the vehicle on the driver's side. I immediately saw the handle of a handgun on the floor between the driver's feet. It was a black
semi-automatic handgun. I told the driver, later identified as suspect Christopher Johnson, not to reach towards the firearm and informed him
that I saw it. I also noticed a black backpack with $100 bills on the outside as a design sitting between his feet as well. The main zippered
compartment was unzipped and open revealing the inside of the bag. I asked suspect Johnson if there were any other weapons in the vehicle
and he replied, "No, that is the only one." I identified the front right passenger of the vehicle as Kenneth Turner. I could tell that the firearm
was not securely encased and it was readily available for immediate use. I removed both occupants of the vehicle for my safety. When I
removed suspect Johnson he seemed hesitant to tell me something. I asked him if he wanted to tell me anything and he replied, "Yeah, there
is actually a second gun in the bag on the floor. I asked him which bag he was referring to. He replied, "That backpack that was between my
feet." Inside the backpack in the same unzipped compartment that was pulled open there was a black handgun.
Florida State Statute clearly states that it is unlawful for any person to openly carry on or about his or her person any firearm. The firearm
that was sitting on the floor was in plain and open view and was not securely encased. It was readily accessible for immediate use. Also, the
firearm that was in the backpack was not securely encased either because the bag was completely open.
My on duty supervisor and watch commander were notified of the situation. The vehicle was released to family/friends on scene at the
request of suspect Johnson. Suspect Johnson was present when the vehicle was released.
The handgun that was on the floor is an FN 5.7mm. The handgun that was in the bag is a Glock 9mm.
Suspect Johnson was issued a citation for the above reference infraction.
Probable cause has been established to charge suspect Johnson with Open Carrying of Weapons/Firearms.
He was transported to BRC without incident.
