MUNICIPAL RESOLUTION NO. 002-2014

GRANTING AUTHORITY TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR ANN Y.
ONGJOCO TO NEGOTIATE FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE
LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT OF GUINOBATAN TO DR.
GRACIANO B. BAAGA, THE LEGAL OWNER OF THE LOT
LOCATED IN BARANGAY SAN JOSE, GUINOBATAN, ALBAY TO
BE THE RELOCATION SITE OF THE PEOPLE OF MANINILA.

WHEREAS,
Barangay Maninila is considered as floodprone areas of the municipality, having been frequently flooded during
the last few years and has probability of being continuously flooded at
any given year/time in the future;
WHEREAS,
the residents and families in said Barangay
have not been provided with a practicable and proper relocation site
yet. Considering the great advantage and importance of a safe and
secure relocation site, such that the same will serve as stead and
abode for the relocates as a disaster preparedness and mitigating
measure to minimize or eliminate flood damages and threats to life
and limb, the provision of the same is but necessary and beneficial;
WHEREAS,
Dr. Graciano B. Baaga of Barangay Calzada,
this municipality, own a sizeable and suitable lot, located in Barangay
San Jose, this municipality, for this intended relocation site. However,
in order for the Honorable Mayor to act on this matter, i.e. to
negotiate with its owner with regard to its possible purchase, an
authority coming from the august body is essential. Consequently, the

Sangguniang Bayan, in greatly considering the necessity of the same,

grants this authority to the Local Chief Executive, for her proper and
immediate action;
WHEREFOR, in view of the forgoing premises, be it now:

RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved by the Sangguniang Bayan

of Guinobatan, Albay in session assembled, to grant as it is hereby
Grants Authority to the Hon. Mayor Ann Y. Ongjoco to negotiate for
and in behalf of the Local Government Unit of Guinobatan to Dr.
Graciano B. Baaga the legal owner of lot located in Barangay San
Jose, Guinobatan, Albay to be the relocation site of the people of
Maninila.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this resolution be
furnished the Office of the Mayor, Dr. Graciano B. Baaga and the
Barangay Councils of Maninila and such other concerned
offices/agencies, for their information and appropriate action.
APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY on motion of Councilor Frances
John M. Oxales and duly seconded by the members present this 13 th
day of January 2014 during their 2nd Regular Session.
