Course Objective:
This is the second course in the sequence of the two courses on microelectronic circuits. The
objective of this course is to provide the students an insight into analysis and design of electronic circuits
that find extensive application in such fields as computers, control systems, digital instrumentation,
communications, radar etc. The course begins with an introduction to single-stage IC amplifiers and
continues with differential amplifiers, in both its bipolar and MOSFET forms followed by various output
stages. Frequency response of amplifiers, feedback analysis with focus on practical circuit applications of
negative feedback and stability problems in feedback amplifiers are also presented. This course also
introduces both bipolar and MOS analog integrated circuits.

Grading Policy
Quiz policy
The quizzes will be unannounced and normally last for ten minutes. The question framed is to test the
concepts involved in preceding lectures.
Conduct of Labs
The labs will be conducted for two hours on alternative weeks. A lab handout may be given in advance for
study and analysis and will be put in lecture notes folder. The students are to submit their results by giving a lab
report at the end of lab or as directed by the instructor. The lab reports will be evaluated. Individual lab reports or
when asked one lab report per group will be required.
Assignments
In order to give practice and comprehensive understanding of subject, home assignments will be given. The
students are advised to do the assignment themselves. Copying of assignment is highly discouraged and taken as
cheating case and will be forwarded for disciplinary action. The questions in assignment are more challenging to give
students the confidence and extensive knowledge about the subject and enable them to prepare for the exams.
