Built from compact weather-proof modules, Nokia Flexi EDGE

Base Station eliminates the need for bulky, space-consuming
cabinets, opening up a wealth of new site types to provide
coverage in dense areas. Modules can be stacked on the
floor or a shelf, they can be fixed on walls or poles, and they
are small enough to be installed in completely new locations
such as bus stops, kiosk roofs and small indoor closets.
 The high level of integration enables a 24 TRX Nokia
Flexi EDGE Base Station to fit into the same volume as a
conventional 12 TRX cabinet. In addition, a 4+4+4 TRX
configuration can be built with a module stack less than 1
meter high.

Fewer sites are needed

Available in GSM 800, 900, 1800 and 1900 frequency bands,
Nokia Flexi EDGE Base Station offers industry-leading radio
performance. A balanced link featuring high transmit power
and excellent receiver sensitivity helps to create a larger cell
size for greater coverage.

With Nokia Flexi EDGE Base Station, site acquisition is

the civil works needed to prepare a site is much reduced.
The base station modules are small and light enough to be
carried and installed by a single person. No special lifting
equipment is needed, outdoor shelters are unnecessary,
there is no need for costly air conditioning for indoor or
outdoor installations and base station commissioning
requires no special skills.
The base station’s modular design and small size opens up
entirely new sites that can be exploited. This substantially
increases the chances of finding the optimum location for
the base station site. What’s more, rentals of these new
types of sites are typically lower than conventional sites.
