Introduction
Dear readers,
you have in front of you the fourth, supplemented edition of
the catalog Croatian Defence Industry. We would like to
inform you about the current state in Croatian defence
industry. That is an industrial sector that has developed
slowly but in continuity, companies have been given a profile, they have adopted new technologies and offer products
that can meet demands of the buyers.
The catalog represents manufacturers of different defence
equipment, from apparel to footwear to complex simulators and combat systems. Meeting domestic requirements
is evidence that many companies are ready to offer their
products on global market too.
One of the indicators that Croatian companies are capable
of fulfilling the most difficult demands is that they manufactured appropriate equipment for different climatic and geographical conditions for requirements of Croatian soldiers
who are deployed in peace missions and operations
abroad. Croatian soldiers who are equipped with products
of Croatian manufacturers take part in peace missions and
operations in Afghanistan and other states.
The companies in the catalog are listed in alphabetical
order, basic contact data are stated for each company and
a part of their products is represented. We hope you will
read the catalog with interest since we tried to make it well
laid out and user friendly as much as possible. Our goal is
to show, in a simple and interesting manner, the capacities
and attainments of Croatian defence production.
Croatian defence industry developed during the Homeland
War 1991- 1995, mostly from the existing civilian companies and in minor part from companies that dealt with
defence production within the former state.
At that time, the aim of that young, newly established
industry was to manufacture weapons, ammunition and
equipment for defence of freedom and independence.
Today's capacities have been adjusted to peacetime
requirements. One of the important directions of the development is fostering cooperation with foreign partners,
especially in the programme of modernizing the CAF.
We hope that this catalog will be useful to all those who
want to come to know Croatian defence industry and to
establish contacts for possible business cooperation.

HISTORY During the time of the general migration of nations in the early Middle Ages, Croats
settled along the Adriatic Sea and the rivers
Drava and Danube, where they founded their
state. After settling in between powerful
nations and states with conquering aspirations
for the area, the Croatian homeland was constantly exposed to armed attacks for more
than a thousand years. From the 9th century,
along with political independence and international recognition (879), Croats were already
completely included into the Christian community and cultural life of Western Europe, building churches and establishing abbeys and
schools. Numerous preserved written documents and stone monuments are the evidence
of the Croatian statehood and the feature of
the Croatian ethnic being.

The new concept of the launcher design is based
on the application of the latest technologies and
new subsystems such as optronic subsystem
with TV and thermovision camera and monitors
for the operator and commander, and subsystems for automatic positioning
and automatic orientation of the
vehicle and the launcher, and
automatic determination of the
launching zone. Thus, the newly
developed launcher can be compared with similar modern systems in the world. Using optimally
designed hardware that also
includes the central computer,
and using the own developed software, the reaction time of the system has been
significantly reduced, resulting accordingly in
increased effectiveness of the system. The
structure of the launcher, illustrated in the block
diagram below, enables further upgrading, in
accordance with the customers wish, of both
the hardware and the software, and in this way,
the preconditions are created for possible application of the missiles used in the West (e.g.
CHAPARRAL, STINGER, MISTRALE, RB-70,
etc.).
Possible ways of co-operation

Their concern at such times is how to ensure enough food and water.
Every extreme situation causes stress and, combined with increased physical activity during military operations, amplify energy consumption in
the human body. Lower food intake and sleep
deprivation during longer periods of time reduce
the strength of the muscles significantly, but
also have a degrading effect on the soldiers
health and fitness and, consequently, on the success of the military mission altogether.
Therefore, it is vital to take the necessary nutrients during military operations, especially carbohydrates and water, in order to enhance the
stamina of the soldiers and reduce the number
of injuries.
The survival meal is a specially developed meal
which is produced on the basis of contemporary
scientific findings on nutritive needs in the most
difficult conditions. It is intended for extreme situations when the main task of a person is to survive with minimum energy and water consumption. The meal is a compact package of food that
combines carbohydrates, glucose and glucosebased polysaccharides, as the most important
source of energy.
compensate the
level of glucose in
the blood continuously which
is indispensable during long-term physical
strains without regular food.
A single package of 164 grams consists of 6
rolls of compressed drops with a savory apple,
orange or cola taste. The package is sufficient
for one person during a single day and it is compulsory to take at least one liter of water when
consuming the survival meal.
The meal is designed for use in different emergency situations as an addition to the survival
equipment but it is also suitable
for use as an energy supplement in both military and civilian purposes.

MARKET
Salona sailboats are not merely a successful brand
in Croatia, but they are also one of the ten major
sailboat manufacturers in the world - as an original
Croatian brand. Being recognised as vessels for
leisure time of exceptionally high quality and competitive price on the world market, Salona sailboats
became globally known in a very short period of
time. Modern design, harmonious interiors, and
outstanding performance are the most important
characteristics of the sailboat fleet manufactured
in Solin near Split. On the other hand, continual
investment in domestic intelligence - the development team, as well as sales and marketing experts
- besides an attractive product, built a company
that is able to achieve success, confronted by the
worlds most powerful sailboat manufacturers, in a
manufacturing business where the product added
value rate is among the highest in the world.
ACHIEVEMENTS
Very soon after the first manufactured sailboats
were exhibited at boat shows in Europe, followed
awards for Salona. After Salona 45 and 40 consolidated brand identity, Salona 37 became the
yacht of the year in Europe, America and Croatia.
Its success was additionally supported with over a
hundred pieces sold on all continents. The smallest model of the shipyard, Salona 34, was also
nominated for the yacht the year, and the latest

the international group Prevent - a German multinational company with over 12 000 employees
and more than 35 production units worldwide and
a major supplier for famous automotive industry
brands, such as Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen etc.
Nowadays, the shipyard in Solin has two halls and
comprises a total of 6000 square metres, just
several hundred metres from the shore.
PRODUCT
Currently, the Salona shipyard is in the process of
manufacturing five sailboat models, from 35 to
60 feet in length (10 to 20 metres). Salona 35
is the smallest model intended for true navigation
enthusiasts, and it offers a combination of premium comfort (salon and two cabins) and true
sports performance. Owing to such combination,
it became the favourite choice for family cruise.
The following model is Salona 38, following in the
steps of Salona 37 the top selling shipyard
model, which has been without doubt one of the
top sailboats in its class in the world during last
ten years. With three comfortable cabins, vast
exterior and excellent sailing characteristics, it is
a sailboat that has no weak points, and even its
motor sailing performance is above standard. On
the other hand, its great comfort characteristics
make it an excellent choice for charter companies, thus it is equally present in both commercial
exploitation and for private purposes. An especially attractive fleet is that of ten Salona 38,
located in Kremik marina and that hosted numerous yachtsmen from all parts of the world during
the excellent one-design contests. Salona 41 was
released in 2011, uniting the spirit of the brand,
the way it has been from the beginning, and modern exterior lines, minimalistic interior and functionality according to the latest achievements in
the nautical industry. Although it has only carried
out half of its promotional programme on nautical fairs, this sailboat won considerable affection
and many buyers. Currently, the largest model of
the shipyard is Salona 44, the successor of the
first model, Salona 45. As the true queen of the
fleet, the largest Salona offers everything one
might wish for on sea. Its especially attractive
version is the three cabin model, where interior

Enavigo Ltd
Enavigo builds high quality wooden boats with
traditional lines, but uses the modern strip
plank and epoxy resin (WEST) method of construction. This system of laminating, gluing and
protecting the wood results in a composite
material that gives the boat extraordinary
strength and stiffness. The Enavigo Cutter
offers both seaworthiness and security.
Using modern equipment and a large production facility we are able to systematically control
all conditions, a vital part of the production
process. Quality control is something we take
very seriously and every part of each boat is
appropriately recorded and measured during
the production process. This method allows us
to retain high standards even in a labor-intensive environment.
Our mission is to produce a powerful, high-spec
and traditionally designed boat that is seaworthy and has enduring visual appeal.
Our vision is to reintroduce wooden sailing
boats to modern man and continue the ageold tradition of sailing with majesty - and practicality.

DIGITAL ORTOPHOTO
Geofoto specializes in production of digital
ortophoto from aerial photogrammetric images
and satellite images. The digital orthophoto is a
geometrically corrected photograph in digital
format, produced as a result of computer
transformation of digital photographs from the
central into the orthogonal projection.
Generally, the orthophoto is made within shorter period of time than vector maps and it is a
couple of times cheaper. The most common
scales of analogous orthophotos are 1:5000,
1:2000 and 1: 1000. In addition, lately there
has been increase in demand for True ortho, in
which built objects are not projected on the
ground, but in the orthoretification process is
aircraft, uses close range infrared part of electromagnetic spectrum for active data collecting
in daylight or during the night, in a shadow, but
also in circumstances of lower visibility (e.g.,
under the clouds). Typical 3D visualizations,
including enhanced DTM with buildings and vegetation can be made within a few hours.
3D TERRAIN AND CITY MODELS
Geofoto makes different 3D data. They are
obtained from aerial photogrammetric
images. Spatial resolution of imaging can be
up to 8 cm which enables highly detailed and
precise level of detail. On the basis of such
images and using photogrammetric mapping
on specific workstations, 3D data is created
of the existing objects and terrain. After a
topographic processing, this data is a genuine and reliable source of information in
space. 3D data has many uses and the military most often uses them for mission and
exercise planning and command, aerial reconnaissance, logistic planning and enemy and
friendly forces tracking.
SCALE MODELS
Once a 3D model has been created the data
is materialized from the digital form using a
special 3D printout technology and scale models of diferent scales are made. The scale
model composes of a tablet mosaic built on a
special base and it is an irreplaceable means
of communication and spatial display.
DIGITIZATION CENTRE
Geofoto delivers complete solutions for scanning and vectorization of large size master
plans and maps. The kit contains a large format scanner, a software used for conversion
of raster files into a vector format (lines and
objects) which has a possibility of pattern
recognition, an application used for data transformation into UTM projection and different
format conversion. In addition, the company
provides system application services, training
and system maintenance.

Long-standing tradition and experience, together with
continuous improvements and introduction of new technologies and materials, enables us to keep up with the
world standards and manufacture footwear that combines safety, protection, comfort and quality.
Jelen was founded in 1948 and started as the first
company establishing clothing industry in Croatia from
the early beginning. Jelen has followed very focused its
strategy of quality, development and continuing growth.
In the manufacturing process Jelen uses two technologies: adhesive footwear technology and directly injected
polyurethane footwear technology.
Special military footwear quality is assured by using
water - resistant membrane designed in accordance
with SYMPATEX technology, which enables feet to
breathe by preventing water to breach in the inside,
while simultaneously allowing any vapour to evaporate.
SYMPATEX the innovative hi-tech climate system for
footwear. Created for people with high expectations independent of the weather and outside circumstances, individual for each situation, for each challenge. SYMPATEX the 100% waterproof and breathable system for protective footwear. For the highest levels of wearer comfort and protection.
SYMPATEX is a hydrofoil, polyester membrane without
pores, only 15 microns thick (1/16mm), which is
extremely light and highly elastic, all of which ensures
both 100% water - resistance and extreme airiness.
SYMPATEX membrane fitting process is constantly
monitored by the licensing company, and all products
are subjected to rigorous tests: stitching test, ripping
test, wearing out test, twisting test and simulation
walking test.
QUALITY AND CONVENIENCE
Employees spend many hours or at least half a day in
working footwear. Therefore it is extraordinaryly important, that working footwear fulfills the criteria of quality
and convenience, meeting exactly the demands of each
profession. JELEN has created numerous types and
groups of working footwear, because each profession
demands its own solution of specialized footwear.

very simple and the whole system is soldierfriendly. The existing processing capabilities of
tacters are such that they enable further
improvements of the system in the future. A
soldier can get all the necessary instructions
on the tacters screen, and thus there is no
need for having written manuals.
As it has been already mentioned, ART SYS

ADA combined with communications can provide a
powerful networked system
for tactical situation awareness of the whole unit, and
more:
Members of the unit can
exchange data on their
own and enemy positions;
Unit commander can
issue orders in an unambiguous graphic and textual
way;
Data entered by soldiers
on the battlefield can be
sent to unit commander
and travel upwards in military hierarchy, where it can
be viewed by higher ranked
military staff which can
make plans according to
current battlefield situations;
In this way, the ADA actually could serve as
the Battlefield Management System (BMS)
expanded with the Artillery Fire Control features
and presents basic element of C4I.
AC4IS
AC4IS supports entire artillery corps with the
information and communication infrastructure,
thus improving its efficiency through all levels of
command in combat tasks. This support
includes:
Decision making,
Command issuing,
Communication,
Artillery fire control.
AC4IS is not intended as a standalone system,
it also provides interoperability services so it
can be fully integrated with all friendly forces
125
126
Deployment is simple
- just connect each
node to the switch
using either landline or radio - no extra network
configuration is needed.
Network protocols are based on broadly
accepted and reliable internet protocols, thus
enabling connections with other networks
through network bridges.
Important aspect of the AC4IS is the Artillery
Fire Control subsystem. It provides the user
with a powerful tool for planning and controlling
artillery fire on an unlimited number of targets
with many types of weapons (Tube Artillery,
Rocket Artillery and Mortars). Its core ballistic
module already supports most weapons of both
Western and Eastern origin. Also, it is possible
to easily add support for additional weapons.
Artillery Fire Control subsystem contains modules for meteorology, fire and ammo distribution, firing elements calculation and safety.

SOKO Z.I.
In 1999 the company conducted a feasibility
study for development of the Flight Simulator
for MiG-21 BIS aircraft for Croatian Air
Forces. In 2002 the first step of its development successfully ended with delivery of the
Flight Training Device FTD TL-21.
Today SOKO Z.I. has a strong developing nucleus of experts from various fields (aerospace
engineering, software engineering, electric
engineering, electronic engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics, and physics)
that continue development of the flight simulator for MiG-21 BIS, and other types of simulators and simulation products.
FTD TL-21
FTD TL-21 is a Flight Training Device for MiG21 BIS combat aircraft. It is a result of the
development program that was realized
through a successful, several-year cooperation
between SOKO Z.I., Croatian Ministry of
Defense (MORH) and Croatian Air Forces
(HRZ).
Architecture
FTD TL-21 was designed in accordance with the
latest world trends in flight simulator design.
Traditional and expensive concept based on a single alltask mainframe computer is replaced with array of
small personal computers (PC) processing smaller
tasks and communicating over Local
Area Network (LAN). Modular hardware and software
architecture allows task switching and replacement of
computers or computer parts, enabling continuous
upgrades in pace with the rapidly developing IT market.
