Yusuf Ali:

[040:010] The Unbelievers will be addressed: "Greater was the aversion of God to you
than (is) your aversion to yourselves, seeing that ye were called to the Faith and ye used to
refuse."

Dr. Munir Munshey (one of www.answering-christianity.com's authors):

[040:010] (On the Day of Judgment) the unbelievers would be informed, “Surely at this
time you hate yourself. But earlier (in the previous life) Allah’s hatred for you was far
greater, because you refused when you were invited to believe.”

‫ ان الذين كفروا ينادون لمقت ال اكبر من مقتكم انفسكم اذ تدعون الى اليمان فتكفرون‬40:10

Sher Ali:

[040:010] It will be announced to those who disbelieve:`Greater was the abhorrence of

ALLAH, when you were called to the faith and you disbelieved, than your own abhorrence
of yourselves today.'

Shakir:

[040:010] Surely those who disbelieve shall be cried out to: Certainly Allah's hatred (of
you) when you were called upon to the faith and you rejected, is much greater than your
hatred of yourselves.

Pickthall:

[040:010] Lo! (on that day) those who disbelieve are informed by proclamation: Verily
Allah's abhorrence is more terrible than your abhorrence one of another, when ye were
called unto the faith but did refuse.

Sale:

[040:010] But the infidels, at the day of judgement, shall hear a voice crying unto them,
verily the hatred of God towards you is more grievous than your hatred towards
yourselves: Since ye were called unto the faith, and would not believe.

Muhammad Al-Hilali & Muhsin Khan:

[040:010] Those who disbelieve will be addressed (at the time of entering into the Fire):
"Allahs aversion was greater towards you (in the worldly life when you used to reject the
Faith) than your aversion towards one another (now in the Fire of Hell, as you are now
enemies to one another), when you were called to the Faith but you used to refuse."

Palmer:

[040:010] Verily, those who misbelieve shall be cried out to, 'Surely, God's hatred is
greater than your hatred of each other when ye were called unto the faith and misbelieved!'

Arberry:

[040:010] It shall be proclaimed to the unbelievers, 'Surely God's hatred is greater than
your hatred one of another, when you were called unto belief, and disbelieved.'

Khalifa: (why is he here?)

[040:010] Those who disbelieve will be told, "GOD's abhorrence towards you is even
worse than your own abhorrence towards yourselves. For you were invited to believe, but
you chose to disbelieve."

Rodwell:

[040:010] But to the infidels shall a voice cry, "Surely the hatred of God is more grievous
than your hatred of yourselves, when ye were called to the faith, and remained
unbelievers."
