Adequate PPE must be worn at all


times (i.e. eye protection, ear
protection, appropriate respirator,
coverall, helmet, safety shoes, etc.)
Ensure emergency eye wash
equipment is available near the work
area.
Excess grit to be cleaned up and
correctly dispose off.
Air fed blasting hood with shoulder
cape MUST be used while engaged
in activities.
Assessment of dust composition
(containing lead) to be conducted
before work commences.
All connections from air lines shall
be fitted with R clips and whiplash
arresters to prevent it from
disengagement. Air line MUST be
isolated when not in use.
Ensure adequate lighting and have
assistant to ensure hoses does not
cause tripping hazard to operator.
All equipment shall be maintained
and monitored on regular basis.
Likewise, it shall be inspected prior
to use for any damage and store in
safe area.
Ear defenders to be worn at all
times.
