In response to your invitation for Summer Internships, I am really excited to apply for this role at your
esteemed organization.
The journey en route winning the 8 National Skating Championships to getting admission into BITS Pilani
and IIM B has taught me the importance of perseverance and hard work. I am determined and result oriented,
which is supported by a GPA of 10/10 in two semesters and being amongst the top 3 in school throughout. My
experiences while holding positions of responsibility at different stages of my academic life have inculcated
values of team ethics, team work and leadership and have enhanced my problem solving skills. I possess
excellent communication skills and am a complete peoples person. These attributes make me confident and
would act in my favor in the consulting profession.
Management consulting requires solving real time problems by working in teams and extracting relevant
information by being in constant touch with the clients. Being a part of the Media Cell of IIM B has given me
an insight of how to deal with clients as our work essentially comprises of building relations with the media,
having a diplomatic approach to sensitive issues and thinking on our feet. In spite of being from an
electronics background, I have enjoyed and excelled in management, operations, statistics, and
communication courses and graduated with distinction from BITS Pilani. Interning at Sales & Marketing
Department of Texas Instruments (TI) taught me how to use technical knowledge to help plan out a sales
strategy for TI. All this, I believe, will add great value to my career.
Management consulting would help me get an insight to various industrial sectors and would not restrict my
learning to one area. It would provide me with options to choose from in my journey ahead as a member of a
consulting firm. I, being a fresher, would not have any pre-conceived notions about the industry and hence
would add a fresh perspective to the problem in hand. Being an enthusiastic learner I would definitely put in
greater efforts in order to compensate for my professional inexperience so that I am able to prove myself and
live up to my own and my organizations expectations.
Working with a globally reputed company like Bain & Co. would help me make the best use of my summer
internship, providing me with great learning opportunities. Bain treats its interns as full time employees and
gives the same flexibilities and opportunities. This would also ensure that I give in my best to the company
and thus expand my horizon to the fullest. Bain will provide me with a challenging workplace which will test
my skills and will give me an opportunity to work in a creative high energy environment with intelligent and
passionate people. In a nutshell, it will provide a jump start to my career.
