A proven history
The Meridian SL-100 currently serves a
substantial number of major universities
and Fortune 500 companies. Customers
span virtually every market segment from
education, financial services, and health
care to hospitality, manufacturing, state
and local government, and the utility
industry. In fact, the Meridian SL-100
forms the cornerstone of the United
States Government's communications
network.
When the Department of Defense began
building its worldwide telecommunications network, it chose the Meridian SL100 from Nortel Networks. The Meridian
SL-100 combines carrier-grade reliability
with advanced networking capabilities to
form the backbone of the customdesigned Defense Switched Network that
serves military installations around the
globe.
The Meridian SL-100 is the first switching system to complete the Defense
Switched Network Certification through
the Joint Interoperability Test Command
(JITC). All software loads go through
the test criteria set up by the U.S.
Government to ensure compliance
with the Generic Switching Center
Requirements (GSCR).
In addition, other U.S. Government
agencies are using the Meridian SL-100
to provide advanced features and services
to their employees.
As for reliable and secure operation,
these government agencies have more
than ordinary needs. At Nortel Networks,
we have worked with these organizations
to meet their stringent requirements.
