1. Line is a moving point
that denotes a direction.
Dimension
is
the
space that an object
occupies
in
a
direction.
2D
objects
have
height & width.
3D object have height,
width, & depth.
Kinds of Lines
a. Vertical Lines move or
go straight up or down.
b. Horizontal Lines move
or go straight on side,
left to right, or vice
versa.

c. Diagonal/Slanted
Lines goes toward a
horizontal or vertical line,
giving the impression of
rising or falling.
d. Zigzag Lines are made
up a combination of
diagonal or slanted lines.
e. Curved Lines change
their direction gradually
(C, S, wavy, spiral)
2. Shapes can be classified
as geometric or freeform.
Free-Form
Shapes
are usually irregular or
uneven.
3. Forms are objects that
are 3D and have length,
width, and depth.
Freestanding,
which
means that these are
viewed from all sides
and the viewer, must
see it from all the
sides.
4. Color is considered the
most expressive among
the elements of art.
Separating light into
bands of color known
as
the
Color
Spectrum.
Tint is produced when
white is added to a
color and it is a Shade
when black is added to
a color.
Color Wheel organizes
the
color
in
a
spectrum bent in a
circular form.

Three Properties of Color


a. Hue is the identity or
name of the color. It is
also the pureness of
color.
b. Value is the lightness or
darkness of colors.
c. Intensity
is
the
brightness or dullness of
color.
Color Scheme is a
way
of
organizing
colors & establishing a
harmonious
relationship
among
them.
Monochromatic
Colors compose a
color
scheme
that
uses only one color
together with its tints
and shades.
Analogous
Colors
are colors have a
common hue among
them.
Complementary
Colors
are
the
opposite colors on the
color wheel.
Triad
is
a
color
scheme where the
colors
are
equal
distance with each
other in the color
wheel.
Split
Complementary is a
kind of combination
wherein a hue plus the

two colors beside the


opposite are used.
5. Texture is the element
of art that refers to how
things or object feel or
look.

Content and Image of the


Visual Arts
Man is a natural, artist,
driven by his sense of
curiosity
and
wonder.
Because of this emotional
sate, the urge to create is
present and is just waiting
to be released. This urge is
satisfied through the visual
arts.
Content in art is the
theme or the message the
artist or any individuals
wants to communicate. The
content is related to the
subject matter, an idea, or
an emotion. Theme is
another name for content.
The
theme
is
usually
chosen by an artist or
individual
who
had
undergone an experience
he
or
she
considers
significant or important to
him or her. The content
contains the intention that
the artist might have at the
time the work was made.
The viewer may or may not

be
certain
about
the
meaning of the work, so
that it is possible to look at
all areas and consider

option and choices which


may have be personal and
not related to the intention
of the artist or individuals.
