Anuban Weekly Outline

Healthy
Activity Time me (2)

This week we are learning:

Circle Time Review
This week we are going to continue
with the topic of healthy me. We will
review the vocabulary we learned
last week about this topic. We will
then practice this vocabulary by
playing some games, the aim being
for the class to be able to read, spell,
pronounce and understand each
word.

Activities and worksheets:

This week we are going to discuss healthy and unhealthy in terms of
behaviours and diet. We will as a group identify foods that are healthy and
unhealthy and write them down onto the board. We will practice speaking about
food using full sentences outlined below. We will also look at healthy and
unhealthy behaviours such as exercise (healthy) and watching TV (unhealthy).
Sentence structure:
What is this? This is cheese.
Do you like cereal? Yes, I do. No, I dont.
Is a hamburger healthy or unhealthy. A hamburger is unhealthy.
I like to eat fried chicken, but it is unhealthy.
Games:
We are going to use the flashcards for the focus topics to play games such as
splat and flashcard draw.
Songs/Videos:
We are going to listen to the healthy eating song:

Science
P1 Preparation

(T. Andy)

This week the students will start

reviewing body parts in science. They
should know a lot of the simple
vocabulary already, so once we have
reviewed we can potentially move
onto more difficult and obscure words,
especially for the students who need
to be pushed. The student will do fun
activities like creating a monster and
completing a maze in the workbook
this week so that next week they have
the understanding necessary to move
onto analytical work using comparison
charts.

Healthy, unhealthy, fruits, vegetables, meat, milk, grains, grow, strong, bones,
exercise, eat, drink, meal, snack.
Grammar
This week in grammar the students will
be the verb 'to be' in its various forms.
This subject follows on nicely from
adjectives since we will be using a lot of
the adjectives we have already learned to
complete full sentences using 'to be'. The
students will learn about the different
forms of the verb (eg: I am, he/she is,
you are etc) and practice using all of
these different forms in a variety of
circumstances to get them used to
changing between them with confidence.
They will complete written work in the
workbook but we can also practice using
circle games such as Pass the Bomb or
sentence builders like the Relay Game.
