Cameron Byerly sworn in as Representative for the School of Arts and Letters
Lyndsey Bessinger sworn in as Representative at Large

New Organization: Student Entrepreneurship Club

Junior student Paul Adkisson presents the Student Entrepreneurship Club


The [club] endeavors to promote interaction with the business world
Employers want more experienced employees
The [club] will employ one main tactic to teach application of business principles
[] as the club matures, we will branch out into the university and community by
way of entrepreneurial endeavors.
Enactus is an international non-profit organization that brings together student,
academic and business leaders who are committed to using the power of
entrepreneurial action to improve the quality of life
Impacts to students may experience increased notoriety of the school, competent
business graduates, increased experience among students, increased job
opportunities for graduates through networking, etc.

Bill/Proposal

Baseball Apparel
o President Mendez presents this bill, along with Alex Lopez and Jacob Haweth.
o Baseball team has raised $1,400.00 for the baseball practice apparel and they
are requesting $2,299.50 from SGA.
o SGA shall purchase the baseball apparel
o Lopez and Haweth speak on behalf of the Texas Wesleyan Baseball team
o 53 man roster, expecting 10 transfers max., and extra shirts for coaches and
President Mendez, 70 are being ordered

To amend the Baseball Apparel bill to read: Section 1. Shall allocate
no more than $2,299.50 from the SGA budget for the baseball
apparel. Section 2, Subsection A This legislation shall not be enacted
by the SGA until the $1,400.00 has been deposited into SGAs
legislation account. Section 4. The head baseball coach at Texas
Wesleyan University has approved of the apparel for the baseball
team.

Stella basement being transformed into an arcade

Words from the President

AIPAC, an Israel foreign policy conference, is being held in Dallas on November 2nd
and 3rd and President Mendez may be participating as well as any members
interested. The deadline is tomorrow so please let President Mendez know if you
are interested in attending.
Petitions
o It is not SGAs jurisdiction to hire, re-hire, or fire faculty, staff, or personnel.
o We cannot sponsor/support the petition for the reinstatements against the
administration.
o Students can petition, but SGA may not be the head of these petitions.
Financial Literacy Program reiteration
Signs for parking
o Need to be looked into and discussed with Brian Franks for the Building &
Grounds Committee
o Lack of parking signs on campus by the Administration building, by the
PUMC, etc.
Policies survey
o Fill out the survey regarding your opinion on the tobacco and alcohol policies
o Planning on sending the survey link to students on Sunday or Monday
Photos
o Individual and group photos will be taken on October 2nd. Please dress
appropriately and professionally. By next Thursday, please submit a short
bio to Secretary Sanchez for the SGA website.
o Bulletin board and representative contact information outside of the SGA
Chamber
Sports
o SGA-sponsored events for the sports teams are being discussed and planned
by Head Representative Rodgers and his committee.
Forum
o Student Forum on October 7th during Free Period including President
Mendez, Vice President Alexander, etc.
o More structure and process of building a forum and that SGA would
form/head the forums
o President Mendez has met with Martika Cook regarding the forums
o It is being asked that questions be submitted in advance to President Mendez
o As a body, President Mendez is making it mandatory to attend the forum on
October 7th and dressed appropriately.
