Nightmare on Mount Aconcagua

Last week a team of eight climbers climbed to the top of Mount
Aconcagua in the Andes. However, while they were climbing down,
something terrible happened. The weather changed. We were
climbing down when I saw a snowstorm coming, says Jim Thorne, the
climb leader. Its every climbers nightmare.

He wanted to get his team back to base camp quickly but it was very
difficult. Everyone was tired and cold and was walking very slowly.
Dont forget we were carrying backpacks, says Thorne.
They arrived at base camp two days later. When I saw base camp, I was very
happy. But when I looked back and saw that there were only six of us instead of
eight, I couldnt believe it! says Thorne.
Unfortunately, Thorne and the others couldnt go back to find the two missing
climbers because the snowstorm was very bad. Were they lost? Were they hurt?
Were they alive or dead? I didnt know. I just sat and cried, says Thorne.
