Learning Activities
A. Preparatory Activities
1. Review
Before we proceed to our lesson for today, let us recall the
basic concepts in geometry. Thats why, I brought here a hi-

tech PSP. This PSP wont teach us how to play games. Rather,
it will help us recall the concepts which we had learned from
our previous topic.
Ill be flashing cards and you will identify the figure. Then,
briefly state the definition of the figure. If you want to answer,
just raise your right hand quietly.
Sample Cards:

width or height. It is named with a capital
letter.

IV. Evaluation
Direction: Read and understand the following statements. Write
TRUE if the statement is correct and FALSE if it is incorrect. Write
your answer on the space provided for.
1. Isosceles triangle has at least two sides equal.
__________
2. If the sides of triangle measure 5 cm, 8 cm and 10 cm,
respectively, then, it is an equilateral triangle.
__________
3. Each angle of an acute triangle ranges from 90 to 180.
__________
4. All angles of a right triangle measure 90.
__________
5. If the interior angles of a triangle measure 65, 75 and
40, respectively, then it is an acute triangle.
__________
V. Assignment
Direction: On a short bond-paper, draw a figure/object using the
classification of triangles. Pass it next meeting.

Appendix A

Acute Triangle
All the angles of acute triangle are acute. This means that the
measure of each angle of the triangle is between 0 and 90. For
example, a triangle whose interior angles measure 30, 80 and 70,
respectively, is classified as acute triangle.

Right Triangle
A triangle is considered right if one of its angles is a right angle.
This means that the measure of one of its angles is exactly 90.
Sometimes, the exact measure of 90 is not labelled in a triangle.
Instead, a reversed L sign is marked on the right angle. For example, a
triangle whose angles measure 40, 90 and 50, respectively, is a
right triangle.
Center 3
Obtuse Triangle
If one of the angles of a triangle is obtuse, then, the triangle is
classified as obtuse. This means that the measure of one of its angles
is between 90 and 180. For example, a triangle whose interior angles
measure 40, 110 and 30, respectively, is classified as obtuse
triangle.
Center 4
P a g e 7 | 12
Scalene Triangle
In a scalene triangle, no sides are equal. Also, the measurement
of its angles are not equal. This means that the lengths of all its sides
are different. Moreover, the measures of its angles are different. For
example, a triangle whose sides measure 3 units, 7 units and 8 units,
respectively, is classified as scalene. The same is true with triangle
whose interior angles measure 40, 110 and 30, respectively.
Center 5
Isosceles Triangle
In an isosceles triangle, two of its sides are equal. Also, the
measurement of its angles opposite the equal sides are also equal. For
example, a triangle whose sides measure 3 inches, 5 inches and 5
inches, respectively, is classified as isosceles.
P a g e 8 | 12
Center 6
Equilateral Triangle
In an equilateral triangle, all sides are equal. Also, the
measurement of its angles are equal. Since the total measure of the
interior angles of a triangle is 180, this means that each angle of an
equilateral triangle measures 60. For example, a triangle whose sides
measure 10 cm, 10 cm and 10 cm, respectively, is classified as
equilateral. Moreover, equilateral triangle is also considered as
equiangular triangle because all its angles are equal.
