General Meetings
Grading Meetings
Clubs will be advised of any changes to the meeting times. As per 37.2a) of the Rules of Association,
three (3) only of each Affiliated Member Club, Executive Committee Members as defined in rule 1 (22)* present
and eligible to vote will be entitled to one (1) non transferable individual vote.
* 1(22) Club Executive means the person elected or appointed as President, Vice President, Secretary and
Treasurer of the Affiliated Club Member.
GENERAL INFORMATION
This information booklet covers both the 2015 Winter Day Season (Saturdays) and the 2015 Junior
Winter Night Season for players turning 15 to 18 in 2015 (Wednesday nights).
To avoid confusion and possible loss of points, please make sure the following information is known to
all your members before the commencement of fixtures.

CAR PARKS
Car parking is off Maine Road or Bell Street. MEMBERS PARKING IN EITHER CAR PARK DO
SO AT THEIR OWN RISK. To avoid theft, please make sure your car is properly locked. To avoid
damage, park carefully. If you are to be at the complex for any length of time, please carry out a
regular inspection of your vehicle.
For the safety of all Members Only Board members, First Aid Officer and any other authorized
personnel are allowed to drive past the entrance and into the court complex on Saturday Day
Fixtures and Wednesday Night Fixtures.
To show respect to our residential neighbours DO NOT PARK IN TAINTON ST
AMENITIES BLOCK
Supervision by club/team officials of their members using these facilities is recommended. Club/Team
officials are also requested to please ensure that their members take care of these facilities provided for
their comfort and convenience. Repair costs to replace and repair any damage must, in time, be passed
onto members through higher registration or playing fees. Please report any incidents/concerns with
the amenities to the RLNA Officer in Charge or the Competition Manager if the other is unavailable.
CLUBS/INDPENDENT TEAMS must ensure Amenities Block is left clean after training. Please
ensure no toilet cisterns or taps are running and check the bubbler.
LOST PROPERTY
Please speak to the RLNA Officer in Charge. Any item found by members must be handed into the
RLNA Officer in Charge. All lost property shall be recorded and the owner must give a full
description of the item before it will be released. Lost property not collected by the end of the season
will be disposed of.
FIRST AID
There will be a first aid officer on site for every Saturday day fixture and Wednesday night fixture.

Club Registrars must provide all necessary paperwork at Paper Grading Meeting on Saturday
28th February 2015, 9am at RLNA Clubhouse.

TEAM SELECTIONS
POLICY TEAM SELECTIONS
The RLNA policy with regards to club players and teams are as follows.
1. The RLNA follow POIp (Positive Or It Pointless) guidelines, including the information sheet from
Play By The Rules - Team Selection (see RLNA website for details)
2. The RLNA advises the following with regards to Independent teams.
a. Independent Affiliated Teams - Independent Teams (eg. School Teams) may be formed,
however these teams must be affiliated with RLNA.
b. Independent Affiliated Teams are able to wear their own uniform, as long as it is in line
with the RLNA Rules of Association & approved by RLNA Board.
c. Teams must supply a trainee or qualified umpire for the season. Team fines will be given
should an umpire fail to fulfil their duties.
d. Independent Affiliated Teams must provide a Coach and Manager.
3. The same regard must be given to Club Teams, ie. a complete team (minimum 7 players, coach,
manager and umpire) register with a Club and request to register as a team.
Please ensure the above is adhered to in team selections.
GRADING
In 2015, grading for Junior competition will be based on ABILITY. Divisions will be as follows.
DIVISION 1
U15 to U18 (played Wednesday Nights)
DIVISION 2
U13 and U14 (and any U15 to U18 players who choose to play Saturday)
DIVISION 3
U12 and U13
DIVISION 4
U11 and U12
DIVISION 5
U11
(Subject to change dependent upon number of teams registered and final grading committee meeting)
GAME TIMES
9.00am NetSetGo 5-7 and Modified Game 8-10.
Breaks NSG 5-7 - as required. Modified Game 8-10 - 10 minute quarters with a 3 min &
break, 5 min time break.
Junior Competition Game times tba (dependent upon number of teams in competition). 15
minute quarters with 3 min & break, 5 min time break.
Two different timers/sirens will be used.
NetSetGO 8-10 Modified Gam - cow bell and timer controlled by Rostered Team.
Junior Competition clubhouse siren and timer controlled by Rostered Team.

GAMES PROCEDURE
Teams toss for the Centre pass winner picks Centre or goal end
Teams must have 5 (of their original team) players to take the Court.

Substitute Players can be taken from a lower or same division within own Club
If a team has no Club team in the same or below division, they may take Substitute Players
from another club
Substitute Players are subject to the following conditions.
i They must play on the wings
ii They do not sign two game boards for the same time slot
iii They do not play for the Substitute team more than twice (if a third game is
played, they are taken to be permanent for the Substitute team)
iv They must remain with the Substitute team for the entire game
RLNA Representative Players can be Substitute players
Finals - as per 1 - 4 above and conditional upon the following
They have played minimum 3 games in their own team during the regular season fixture
A Club team can only take the court if they have a minimum of 5 of their own registered players
Substitute players are only to be used to bring team up to 7 players
UMPIRES
The RLNA Umpire Convener will allocate umpires to each game.
Each CLUB Umpire Convener must ensure 1 umpire per team is available for all fixture draws.
Failure to provide an umpire will result in a fine including payment for the substitute umpire.
As per Rule 3.1.1 of Netball Australia Official Rules of Netball, The decisions of the Umpires shall
be final and shall be given without appeal.
CLUB Umpire Conveners are to provide a list of Umpires to the RLNA Umpire Covener by
Paper Grading Meeting on Saturday 28th February 2015 at 9am.
Any players 12 and over interested in umpiring are encouraged to register with the RLNA Umpire
Convener. Umpire Development programs and mentoring are available throughout the season.

INJURY TIME
Injury time shall be allowed for all fixture games under the control of the Association. Please refer to
Rule 7: Stoppages of the Netball Australia Official Rules of Netball for full details. Summary - The
maximum injury time for the first stoppage in each quarter (for each team) is two (2) minutes. Each
subsequent stoppage for each team is 30 seconds and this player must be treated courtside and not on
the Court.
FINES
This year the following fines will apply.
$25 Team Fine for an umpire that doesnt turn up to their game, plus payment to the substitute
umpire that fills in
$25 Club Fine for failure to attend to Game Day Duty (per duty)
$100 Club Fine failure to ensure no running water is left from any taps, toilets or bubbler after
training days.
$100 Club Fine failure to ensure the amenities are left in a tidy manner after training days
The association does not wish for fines to be issued, however it is necessary for them to be in place as a
consequence.
UNIFORMS
All players must wear approved uniform at all times unless the RLNA Officer in Charge has granted
special permission. (Any such request must be in writing and signed by an Official of the Club).
Standard uniform:
Positional patches are compulsory. If you have forgotten yours, they may be hired from the clubhouse
for $5.00 (plus $5 deposit, refunded upon return of bibs in a clean manner).
No jewelry is permitted (including any form of body piercing)
Fingernails must be cut short. The RLNA Officer in Charge may grant approval in special
circumstances and only then by request in writing from the Club/Team Officials.
Players who fail to meet the dress requirements will be removed from the Court and not permitted to
return until uniform is correct; nails are cut short etc.

COACHING
Coaches are permitted to coach their teams (positional play, etc) from the sidelines but they must
remain in a stationary position during the game.
It is an Association ruling that all Coaches have a Blue Card to work with young children under
the age of 18. Clubs, please ensure the Associations Secretary or Registrar is advised of all Club
Blue Card Holders including numbers and expiry dates.

MANAGERS
Managers of teams must locate the other manager from the opposing team and ensure Score Sheet is
completed correctly.
Managers are to also hold a Blue Card to work with young children under the age of 18.
SCORERS
Scoring Rules as per below must be adhered to.

SCORING RULES
It is the CLUB AND TEAM MANAGERS responsibility to:
(a) Ensure the team is CORRECTLY ATTIRED before taking the court including athletes pants and
socks. Umpires may refuse to allow incorrectly attired players to take the court. This includes NO
JEWELLERY.
(b) CONTROL THE BEHAVIOUR of their players and spectators.
1. SCORE SHEETS will be available for collection 30mins prior to game.
2. OFFICIAL PLAYERS (Back of SCORE SHEETS) to be completed and signed by all players
(including Reserves) prior to commencement of game.
(a) Please print the names in BLOCK LETTERS using biro.
(b) No players can be added to the playing list after the game has started.
3. SUBSTITUE PLAYERS Record the club, team name and playing division of any player filling in for
your team (must abide by RLNA Player Substitution Rules)
4. SCORING POSITION - A scorer/timekeeper from each side must sit together in an appropriate area
around the court. Designated seating will be assigned by RLNA.
5. GOALS are indicated by a tick if successful or a cross if shooters have attempted to shoot for goal
and missed.
6. CENTRE PASS - Scorers keep a tally of centre passes and only inform the umpire IF ASKED.
7. INJURY TIME - Injury time shall be allowed for all fixture games under the control of the
Association. The maximum injury time of two (2) minutes is allowed for each stoppage or as
otherwise directed by the Officer in Charge, the Duty Officer or First Aid Officer.

8. CHECK the score sheet before returning to the Control Desk the following must be completed.
- All Players have signed
- Substitute Players are indicated with club, team name and division
- Players who did not take the court have been crossed out
- Umpires have signed the scorecard
- Scorers have signed the scorecard
- Umpire/s has completed the Nominated Player of the Year section on score sheet.
PLEASE NOTE : A two (2) point penalty will be enforced (to both teams) if scoresheet is completed
incorrectly (4 weeks grace period will be provided)
SPECTATORS
Clubs/Teams are advised that they will be held responsible for the conduct of their club officials,
players and spectators. Harassment of RLNA officials, invited guests or umpires will not be tolerated
under any circumstances. Constant bad behavior by spectators, etc will result in offender/s being
removed from the Complex and if required, police intervention.
PHOTOGRAPHY
RLNA follow the Netball Qld Photography policy see RLNA website for policy.
As a courtesy, please obtain approval from the opposing teams Manager or Coach prior to taking
photos or video.
RAFFLES
The only raffles, and/or fundraising activities to be conducted on the Association grounds must be
authorised by the RLNA Board. Please put all requests in writing.
