atmosphere(usingaDPtransmitterforlevelmeasurementinaopentank.

advantagesanddisadvantagesbutofpureneeddependingontheapplication.
Ifyouhaveamediumthatevaporatesyouhavetousethedrylegmethodastheliquidinthecompensationline
willevaporate.Inthecasewhereyourproductcondensatesyouwillhavetousethewetlegmethodasthe
compensationlinewillendupfullofproductanyway.Thewetlegmethodisthemostdifficultonetocalibrate
asthemeasurementwillindicate0%whenthetankisfulland100%whenit'sempty.Alsoafterinstallation,it
maytakequiteawhilebeforethemeasurementactuallyindicatesthecorrectlevelunlessyouareableto
manuallyfillthecompensationline.
Agoodalternativeistheuseofcappilarleveltransmitters.Thesearefilledwithspecialoilthuseliminatingthe
needtofillthelineorwaituntilithasfilledwithcondensate.Alsotheycanbeusedinthosecaseswherethe
liquidgoestroughboththeevaporatingandcondensatingphases(e.g.somereactors).Otheralternativeslike
radarshouldbeconsideredasoftenthedensitychangesintheseapplicationsmaybeverysignificant,leading

pressurechangeofthegasorvapourabovetheliquidinaclosedtank.Ifthevapourorgasabovetheliquidis
dryanddoesn'tcondensetoliquid,"dryleg"canbeusedwithoutanyproblem.However,thisisnotformostof
thecasesandthen"wetleg"hastobeusedsothatcondensateintheimpulselinetappedabovetheliquidlevel
cannotchangethereading.

haveclosedtopthenunderstooditsunderpressureinthiscasewehavetogoforremotesealDPtxr.itsanwet
leg.
2.Iftheabovescenarioissameandthematerialinsidethetankiscondensable,andtheprocessoperatingpr.is
vacuumandsowehavetogoforDPtxr.withtheLPsideasdrylegandwillturnautomaticallytowetasthe
processchanges.Generallyinthiscasetheprocessfluidsdensitywillbelessthanwater.
