Double Strap Sandals Pattern

Materials Required
AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "STAR" PEARL COTTON Article 90, Size 5
10-50 yd. Balls White or any Color desired.
1 Pr. Inner Soles. Sequins for trim.
Steel Crochet Hook #5.

Directions are given for medium size. Small and large sizes are given in parenthesis.
Soles are worked with single strand of thread. Upper part of slipper is worked with double strand of thread.
Soles. Ch 65 (59-71), 3 d c in 4th st from hook, 2 d c in next st, 1 d c in each of the next 58 sts, (52-64) 2 d c in next st, 3 d c in last
st, working on other side of ch, 2 d c in next st, 1 d c in each of the next 58 sts, (52-64) 2 d c in next st, join in 1st d c.
2nd RowCh 3, 2 d c in same space, 2 d c in each of the next 5 sts, 1 d c in each of the next 58 sts, (52-64) 2 d c in each of the
next 7 sts, 1 d c in each of the next 58 sts, (52-64) 2 d c in next st, join in 1st d c.
3rd RowCh 3, 2 d c in same space, 2 d c in each of the next 6 sts, 1 d c in each of the next 30 sts, (27-33) 1 s d c in each of the
next 16 sts, (13-19) 1 d c in each of the next 17 sts, 2 d c in each of the next 11 sts, 1 d c in each of the next 17 sts, 1 s d c in each
of the next 16 sts, (13-19) 1 d c in each of the next 30 sts, (27-33) join in 1st d c.
4th RowCh 3, 2 d c in same space, * 1 d c in next st, 2 d c in next st, repeat from * 5 times, 1 d c in each of the next 31 sts, (2834) 1 s d c in each of the next 20 sts, (17-23) 1 d c in each of the next 15 sts, * 2 d c in next st, 1 d c in next st, repeat from * 9
times, 1 d c in each of the next 15 sts, 1 s d c in each of the next 20 sts, (17-23) 1 d c in each remaining st, join in 1st d c.
5th RowCh 3, 2 d c in same st, * 1 d c in each of the next 2 sts, 2 d c in next st, repeat from * 5 times, 1 d c in each of the next
34 sts, (31-37) 1 s d c in each of the next 97 sts, (94-100) 1 d c in each remaining st, join in 1st d c.
6th RowCh 1 and work 1 s c in each st, break thread. Work another section in same manner. Place an inner sole between the 2
sections and sew together.
VAMPWith double strand of thread, ch 19, (16-22) s c in 2nd st from hook, 1 s c in each remaining st of ch, ch 2, turn.
2nd RowWork 2 s d c in 1st s c, 1 s d c in each remaining s c, working 2 s d c in last s c, ch 1, turn.
3rd Row2 s c in 1st s d c, 1 s c in each remaining s d c, working 2 s c in last s d c, ch 2, turn. Repeat last 2 rows 3 times.
10th RowWork even in s d c, ch 1, turn.
11th RowWork even in s c, ch 2, turn.
Repeat last 2 rows twice, break thread.

Band for Instep. Ch 42, (39-45) and work 1st 5 rows same as vamp, then work next 8 rows same as 10th and 11th rows of vamp,
break thread.
ANKLE STRAPCh 5 and work 4 s c on ch, ch 2, turn.
2nd Row1 s d c in each s c, ch 1, turn.
3rd Row1 s c in each s d c, ch 2, turn.
Repeat last 2 rows until strap measures 8 inches or length desired.
Sew vamp to sole leaving 18 sts free at toe. Sew band for instep in position starting about 1 inch from vamp. Sew ankle strap to
instep band. Embroider with sequins as illustrated.
