Open Existing AutoPIPE Model

Any of the AutoPIPE non-code combinations can be displayed on screen and exported to Bentley
Navigator for check Clash detection
Tools > Combinations (Select non-code combinations)

Generate an output report to determine areas of maximum displacement


Result > Output Report

Check the maximum displacements in X, Y, Z directions as possible areas of clashes

View displacement plot at point C12F for GRT1E3{1} load combination

Export to DGN using (File > Export > DGN Model (*.dgn))
Hint: Show the insulation defined in the model (View > Show Options > Pipe Insulation) to
include the additional thickness when exporting for clash detection.

Select Deflected Model Graphics and choose the GRT1E3{1} load combination

Microstation or Navigator can be used to run clash detection

Run the CLASH detection

Define a new job called Clash1

Job > Advanced Settings

Criteria TAB and Select Levels Task


Click on 2 levels
SEG_C_STRESS_MESH_DEFLECTED and SEG_D_STRESS_MESH_DEFLECTED
And drag to Set A box
Note: Alternatively, select the items from the Plant model you want to clash with, e.g. Structure,
Equipment, etc., and add them to Set A (Red). The deflected AutoPIPE piping models can be
selected for Set B (Blue) from the referenced-in stress models.
Select the Self check

Under Rules, define a new Rule Suppress clashes within the same level i.e. on same segment
or line number

Click Process button

To Create a Clash Markup


Create a markup for clash 2, click on the markup icon
A Markup name Clash2_Clash1 is created

Or click the Task Create Clash Markup

Select from the menu Review > Markup > Markups dialog

Add a new comment

Double click the Clash2_Clash1 row to redline the markup
