Tyre pressure monitor: Carrying out basic setting

Applicable for tyre pressure monitoring with PR number 7K6 only

Tyre pressure monitoring (TPM) for NAR Chapter.
Note
The basic setting of tyre pressure monitoring must only be performed after the tyre
t
pressure has been corrected to the prescribed values.
If no pressure loss and tyre damage are found after a tyre pressure warning, the
t
incorrect warning can be rectified by a basic setting.
The tyre pressure monitoring warning lamp compares the speed and the rolling
circumference of the individual wheels via the ABS sensors. When the rolling
circumference of one wheel is changed this is displayed by the tyre pressure
monitoring. The rolling circumference of tyre changes if:
t The tyre pressure is too low.
t The tyre has structural damage.
t The vehicle is loaded more heavily on one side.
The wheels on one axle are loaded more heavily (e.g. when towing a trailer or when
t
driving in mountains).
t Snow chains are fitted.
t The temporary spare wheel is fitted.
t One wheel per axle has been changed.

warning lamp has a yellow
warning lamp in the dash panel
insert -arrow-.
