Anyone truly committed

to life never stops walking
Paulo Coelho

Back when I was a child I

remember whenever someone
asks me the occupation of my
parents I am always proud to tell
them that my dad is someone
who works abroad to give us a
better life and my mom is a
teacher. How delighted I am
whenever I talked about my
mom because I truly believed
that being a teacher is being
intelligent and all knowing. Time
flies so quick that I was
surprised I was already seeing
myself torn on what will I take as
a program in college. Should I
take Education, which my mom
whom I really looked up to chose
or psychology which I also think
is very interesting and that will
give me a different path than
my mom. In the end of the
conflict inside my head I took up
BS Psychology.
Psychology is the scientific
study of the human mind and its
behavior or functions. It is really
a very interesting topic which
teaches us a lots of things,
things that will help us in life. It
gave me an opportunity to learn
that people are different or they

are unique. Unique that they

learn differently, that they are
motivated differently, they act
and think differently. That is why
people are very unlike from each
other simply because they are
unique. There are people who
are good and there are also
people who are bad, there are
people who are sad and there
are people who are happy with
their life. It teaches me that I
have to understand people with
their different characteristics
and walks in life. I am very glad
that I took up Psychology since I
fell in love with it. It is the
choice that fits me and will
always be the good one for me.
But then I can still feel
emptiness inside me, something
I need to fulfill. I wanted to
change the world around me, I
wanted to help people, I want to
do lots of things and I wanted to
do something so that I can be
proud of myself. After lots of
thinking I remembered my mom,
I remembered how I looked up
to her as a teacher because I
believed that she is intelligent
and
all
knowing.
After
I
graduated, my choices only led
to what I am now, a teacher.
I am now a special education
teacher, I truly believe that it is

the hybrid of the two things I

love, psychology and education
which will help me fill the
emptiness in me and the desire
to contribute a change in this
world. As a teacher I believe
that my role is to be a guide, an
organizer and at the same time
a mother. They must understand
that they exist differently and
that they are unique from one
another. I must be a guide so
that I will be able to show them
the different roads they may
take in life and that I am
responsible for who they will be
in the future. I must also be an
organizer, in a way that I should
be able to set goals so that I
may see changes or progress in
them. I must be able to always
understand that each of them
are unique, they are separated
from each other, so I must
accommodate everything they

need for learning. I am also a

mother to my student simply as
a Thomasian educator, I must
not only be competent but also
compassionate and committed.
Each one of us is a unique
strand in the intricate web of
life. I am different from other
people and so are they. I
presume that I still have lots of
things to learn in life and I also
believe
that
I
can
learn
separately and different from
others. I still have lots of plans
in life I know I wont stop here
because
according
to
my
favorite author anyone who is
truly committed to life never
stops walking, but at least I am
already taking my first step to
my dream which is to make a
change
and
be
able
to
contribute something in this
world.
