The Synod on the Family
The Synod, called by Pope Francis (October, 2014), was intended to address all
families of the world in a desire to share their joys, struggles & hopes. The Synod
expressed to them a sense of gratitude and encouraged them to become involved
more decisively as the Church strives to go out of herself, and to rediscover the
familys vital character in the work of evangelization. This underlines the conviction
that the core message of the Gospel must necessarily begin with the family.
The Australian Catholic Bishops have prepared 30 questions based on the October
2014 document..
What is being done to help families cope in the midst of great social changes?
What more could be done, especially in helping them to understand those changes?
What is being done to help families in trouble? How effectively is pastoral care
being offered to families on the periphery?
What is being done to support strong families? What more could be done?
Does the process of declaring nullity need to be simpler, less difficult and less
costly?
How can we respond better to people of same-sex attraction and their families?

Deaths: Joan Kelly, Sr Joan Lourey rsm

How can we help all people see that no-one is beyond Gods mercy?

Anniversaries: We remember in prayer: Mary Goggin, Joe Harney
