Flying pay is paid on an hourly basis between chocks off and chocks on and is paid in the month following
accrual. The basic monthly salary and flying pay increase with promotion. Flying pay increases as follows:

Accommodation: Shared furnished air conditioned accommodation is provided free of charge. There are more than 50
buildings in various locations throughout Dubai that you will be placed in. Each apartment block has leisure facilities.
Two/three colleagues (same gender) share a two/three bedroom apartment and each have their own bedroom but share
the kitchen and the living area. Two people may have to share a second bathroom in some three-bedroom apartments.
Once the initial six months probationary period is complete a crew member may request to move free of charge to
another apartment pending availability. Any moves subsequent to this will be charged. Due to varying rosters of
occupants and to ensure security, there are no visitors allowed past 01:00 unless they are Emirates (EK) crew. You may
have two family members visit and stay in your accommodation twice a year for a maximum of 30 days each visit.
Accommodation Utilities: Provided free of charge (e.g. water, electricity, sewerage) but the Company reserves the right to
charge employees in case of excessive bills which are attributed to misuse. Internet, TV and telephone are not included.
Transport: Transport is provided to/from work from your Company accommodation free of charge.
Uniform: Provided by the company and dry cleaned free of charge at designated laundry outlets in Dubai only.
Leave/Leave Travel: Crew are entitled to 30 calendar days leave per year. One firm free annual leave ticket is provided to
your country of origin free of charge. After 3 years of service this may be taken to any destination on the EK network.
Layover Expenses: Meal allowances are provided in the currency of the country of night stop. Hotel accommodation as
well as transport to and from the airport is provided by the company.
Concessional Travel: Staff travel benefits on Emirates Airline can be availed as below:
Unlimited Cat A (90% off) sub load tickets (self and on EK only) available on completing probation (6months).
Unlimited Cat C firm tickets (50% off) (self and on EK only) available upon joining.
Family members (Spouse, Child, Parent, Sibling and Parents in Law) are eligible for limited Category A and Category C
tickets as per Staff Travel Manual. You are eligible to apply for concessional tickets on other Airlines after completing 6
calendar months service or as indicated in the reciprocal agreement between Emirates and the Airline.
End of Service Benefits Scheme (EOSB): Cabin Crew are entitled to receive a non-contributory End of Service Benefit on
completion of three years or more of continuous service. Cabin Crew who do not complete a three year period of
contractual employment will not be entitled to any pro-rata payment for any period of service less than the three year
period. Payment of EOSB on completion of the three year contract period (without renewal) will be as follows:
21 days final basic salary for each of the completed years of service paid upon leaving the Company
A bonus one time payment of AED 6,000 upon completion of your initial contract
Advance Money: Upon reaching Dubai, each new joiner receives AED 2500. AED 2000 will be deducted from crew salary
in instalments over the first two months. The additional AED 500 can be used towards purchases for incidentals, i.e. iron,
kettle, or toaster. Bringing additional funds to Dubai is advisable to cover other initial expenses for basic goods and
services.

Medical/Dental: Emirates Group Clinic looks after the medical needs of all crew. You are covered under a mandatory
hospitalisation insurance scheme, which provides 24-hour, 365 days coverage for which you contribute AED80/- per
month. The company provides AED 2,000 per year towards dental expenses reimbursable on receipt of dental treatment
claims. Crew are required to undergo regular check-ups. After 3 years of service, crew may opt to join the EK Clinic or
remain with their initial choice with the allowance provided. Any medical or dental expenses incurred, other than that
authorised by the company doctors or dentists (except where an allowance has been provided) will be borne by the Crew
member.
Private Health Coverage: Please ensure that you DO NOT CANCEL your private health insurance (if it covers you for any
current health ailment since pre-existing medical conditions will only be covered by Emirates Health Insurance after 2
year waiting period).
Life Insurance Cover: All Cabin Crew employees are insured on a 24 hour world-wide basis under a life insurance policy
which provides for a lump sum benefit equal to 24 months basic salary in the event of death due to sickness.
Personal Accident Insurance Cover: All Cabin Crew are insured on a 24 hour world-wide basis under a personal accident
insurance policy which provides for a lump sum benefit equal to 48 months basic salary in the event of death due to an
accident. This policy also covers permanent disablement due to an accident and compensation for permanent
disablement, the amount of which is determined according to the extent of disability (subject to certification by the
medical specialist concerned).
Insurance - Personal Belongings: It is advisable to have an insurance policy to cover personal items. Emirates are not
liable for any personal items lost/stolen from the apartment. Crew are covered for personal possession insurance while on
duty travel.
Pre-Employment Medical/Dental: You will be required to complete a Medical declaration and be dentally fit prior to
joining. On arrival in Dubai all medicals will be completed by the Emirates Clinic and Government Hospital, which is a
requirement of the company. You should not resign from your current employment until you have been given clearance
to do so by your HR Coordinator (expenses for any medical/dental treatment prior to joining are borne by the individual).
Probation: Six months begins from the day of your flight to Dubai. Notice period during probation is one week. Notice
period after probation is one month. Cabin Crew, who resign for any reason before the end of their probationary period,
may be asked to pay retention monies, which could sum to a total of AED 8000. This would be paid towards the starter
pack in their apartment, cost of visa, medical expenses, and training expenses. Permission to leave Dubai during your
probation period must be obtained from your manager.
Training & Induction: On your 1st day of induction (introduction to the company) you are required to be dressed in
business attire. A red polo shirt will be provided to be worn during training; however, trainees are required to wear their
own black trousers and black shoes. Induction includes familiarisation with Emirates Management, the Emirates offices
and Medical Clinic. Cabin Crew are expected to conform to company standards and policies such as punctuality,
grooming, and use of mobile phones from their first day at work. These standards and policies are strictly enforced and
non-compliance may result in disciplinary measures. Training is an intensive six week programme in Dubai carried out at
the Emirates Crew Training College. This includes Safety and Emergency training on designated aircraft types, First Aid
and Occupational Health, Security, Service and Image and Uniform Standards.
Promotion: Based on performance, attendance and length of service. Promotion is typically within the first three years of
service.
Career Development: There is a variety of world-class job-related training, both classroom based and online. For
employees who wish to undertake further training at their own initiative, they can access online courses via the
internet/Company intranet or through the Crew Learning Resource Centre.
Roster: Your monthly roster is system generated based on Company requirements and will be a combination of long/short
haul flights. You will receive a minimum of 8 days off (not simultaneously) per month and will receive 12 hours minimum
rest at base in between flights. There is a system to allow you to request to swap flights and/or fly with a buddy however
approval is subject to operational needs and not during your probation period. Every 7 months you will be allocated one
month of reserve duties where you will be assigned flights only at 6pm each day for the following day.
