Decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (dMEV)
Decentralised Mechanical Extract Ventilation (dMEV) is a
continuous whole house ventilation solution which consists of
continuously running extract fans located in each wet room
within a dwelling, rather than a centralised system, which uses 1
fan to serve several rooms.
Fans run continuously at a low rate to ensure ventilation is
always provided, boosting up to a high level at times of high
moisture generation.
A decentralised solution offers the following benefits compared
with a centralised system:

Operating Flexibility
Although the Intellivent is primarily designed to
operate as a continuous solution, the fan also has
the flexibility to operate intermittently. This mode
offers the following possibilities:

Operation by humidity
Operation by humidity or light switch
Operation by humidity with over run timer

Passivent Fresh Intellivent

Automatic Moisture Detection & Humidity Control
When set up as a continuous dMEV solution, Intellivent will
run at a continuous rate which is set by the occupant by using
the manual speed control. The integrated automatic moisture
detection function means the fan is continually asking itself
whether it is making a difference. If the fan can lower the
moisture content in the air, it boosts automatically. When
humidity is reduced, and the fan senses it cannot reduce
moisture content any further, ventilation speed returns to the
continuous rate as set by the occupant. The fan has two
capacity modes for moisture control, silent or max mode.

Extremely Quiet

Integrated Isolator Switch

The design of the low voltage motor in the fan means that the
fan works extremely quietly. Compared with a conventional
AC extract fan, Intellivent is virtually silent.

Intellivent incorporates an integrated isolator switch which

allows the fan to be isolated on the unit, rather than through a
separately installed fused spur.

Cleanability

Power Consumption

A function much in demand,

and which we are now able
to introduce with Intellivent,
is the ability to simply open
the centre of the fan and gain
free access to the duct to
allow
simple
cleaning.
Using
the
swing-out
function you can easily clean and clear. Its as simple as
pressing the snap-in catch and swinging out the motor to gain
easy access to the duct. This is a key benefit of Intellivent over
similar available products.

By using a low voltage motor we can significantly limit power

consumption. The fan only consumes 5 watt, about a third of
what a conventional bathroom fan uses.

Operating Flexibility
Intellivent offers clients full flexibility in one fan as the fan can
also be set up to operate intermittently.

Timer
The timer function is provided for intermittent
use only as it is not required for continuous
operation. When operating continuously as a
dMEV system, the Intellivent will always save
energy where possible, only ventilating at the
boost rate when the fan can make a difference
and reduce humidity.

In order to provide optimum performance the Intellivent has

been designed with an open propeller. This minimises
resistance and maximises airflow capability of the fan to allow
moisture and other pollutants to be extracted as quickly as
possible. In order to allow this design the propeller has been
designed to be safe in case of fingers being placed inside the
fan whilst in operation. The blades use a soft material and the
fan is designed to stop instantly without causing harm to
occupants.

accessories there are a
range of front covers in different colours as shown below.

Intellivent introduces a front cover with a completely new

design. We have succeeded in producing a surface depth that
appeals to the eye and matches modern light fittings found in
todays bathrooms. This all combines to offer a fan which is
aesthetically pleasing as well as high in performance. The visible
blade gives a retro-feel and gives the fan a very quiet noise level.
