One of the major concern for working in any field is the persons ability to communicate with the rest of the people. This is one of the main reason why this course takes place, to make English language learner be competitive in
their ability to communicate with others It is mandatory that learners become so fluent at the language while they are accurate in the way they transmit the message to the receiver. This class provides the learners with the
necessary tools to perform their oral production in an efficient way.
DESCRIPCION DEL CURSO
Oratory is the art and study of public speaking. This course is a continuation of Oratory III; therefore, students will also be required to present formal speeches of various types and topics. Following up the previous course, the
professor will first review with students how to write speech outlines, present speeches, use visual aids and make audience centered presentations. The focus here is to enhance students skills and competences acquired in
Oratory III and help them feel at ease when presenting in front of an audience. The dates of the speeches are going to be listed in the Course Syllabus Outline in order to give students time to prepare in advance.
OBJETIVO GENERAL

To continue to give students experience in a variety of speaking situations.
To identify the types of speeches and their purpose.
To analyze the ethics involved when delivering a speech.
To become better listeners as they listen to their classmates and other peoples speeches.
To follow all the steps in giving a speech.
To organize and prepare a speech.
To select speech topics according to their purpose.
To research information based on the topics chosen.
To outline the speech.
To deliver various types of speeches.
To use visual aids appropriately when giving the speech.
