90% of engineers need better insights on mobile data usage


95% need to better understand customer usage patterns/hotspots
Data is driving growth, but there is a lack of information regarding how/where it is used

93% need to understand impact of own optimization efforts


Consumer behaviour changing very rapidly, need to ensure network is robust & ready

92% need to focus effort on revenue-generating activities


Move away from purely engineering KPIs towards business KPIs

70% of engineers expect optimization challenges in LTE


85% expect issues with hard handover affecting application QoS
Need to focus carefully on handover zones, interference, dominance, neighbours

83% expect problems with inter-RAT handover to 2G & 3G


Multi-RAT testing will be essential and drive the need for multi-channel test systems

81% foresee challenges optimizing load balancing


Combination of complex service mixes, higher throughouts & bursty traffic patterns

90% say a multi-processor benchmarking approach is needed to manage
the demands of high speed mobile data
Large numbers of existing laptop-based tools will be unsuitable and need replacing
