EVALUATION OF OPTIONS
1. Endorse the proposal of People Support function :
The turnover rate of Parivar was very high (35 percent) and the exit interviews were the
only data point, there were no other hard facts
With company on the growth path and high workforce requirement, employees will be
expected to work late due to which their work life balance will go for a toss. Endorsing
this proposal will help such employees to tackle this work life balance problem by
providing them access to listeners who will help them and thereby their productivity
will increase
Endorsing the proposal and its proper execution will ensure Parivar develop a strong
work culture where people are committed to the firm and it will also help attract new
talent
Offering a pay raise to all employees on par with competitors will be costly as the
company is on the growth path with various expansion plans to be executed. Endorsing
People function will cost less comparatively and is consistent with the kind of culture
Parivar has, which in the past has tripled the revenue and quadrupled the profits.
With expansion plans in Europe and US in near future, having a unique program will be a
big point of differentiation and will add to the competitive advantage of the firm
Parivar is known for its Culture of caring for its employees. Rejecting the proposal may
entail giving away the opportunity to build a unique culture and workplace environment
With growth as one of the goals and high attrition rates, existing employees may have
increased workload. Rejecting the proposal that takes care of these employees may lead
to decrease in efficiency
The company may incur a high cost when it scales up as it expands to US and Europe as
the culture is different there and this function may require several modification to work
and deliver the same result as it did in India
Rejecting the proposal may weaken the companys claim of having a culture that cares
for its people and it wont be able to differentiate itself as it expands globally
Thus all criteria 1 (Impact on Parivars culture and workplace environment), 2 (Employee
Productivity) and 4 (Impact on global expansion plans and growth) except 3 (Impact on
companys costs) may not be met.
