Offered
Course This course stresses the importance of good interfaces and the
Synopsis relationship of interface design to effective human interaction with
computers. The course covers fundamental theory and practice of the
design, implementation and evaluation of human computer interfaces.

Course The course aims to achieve the following objectives:

Objectives • To provide students with a good understanding on what is meant by
good design and why it is important;
• To provide students with some experience of designing and
implementing interfaces using an iterative approach and good design
principles;
• To provide students with the knowledge on selected usability
evaluation techniques and allow them to apply on some interfaces.

Learning On completion of the course, students should be able to:

Outcomes
1. demonstrate knowledge and understanding of basic concepts
and framework of human computer interaction
2. relate between human capabilities and the design of interfaces
and interactive products.
3. demonstrate knowledge, understanding and application of
user-centered approach and tools to interaction design.
4. distinguish and apply appropriate usability evaluation
methods to existing or new software or interactive products.
5. apply good principles of interaction design in selected
prototypes.
6. work as part of a team to analyze user and tasks requirements,
then design, create and evaluate the interface and interaction.
