COBIT 5 Use Guidelines

and Licensing

Individual Use
Each individual purchasing a COBIT 5 publication is allowed to
use it for his/her own personal purposes. This includes sharing
it with someone else or later reselling it. A book purchase or
download does not provide license to reproduce, reprint or
display any COBIT 5 books.

Corporate Use
Where multiple individuals from the same corporation require
a copy, or access to COBIT 5 books, multiple copies can be
obtained at a discount. This can be done in several ways:

Volume book purchase discount: Please contact the ISACA

bookstore at bookstore@isaca.org for volume discount rates on
COBIT 5 books.
Corporate Subscription discount: An organization can purchase
a corporate subscription to provide access to all COBIT 5 books.
This includes currently issued COBIT 5 books as well as those
issued during the subscription period (three years). A Corporate
Subscription enables corporations to use content based on COBIT
5 books for internal, non-commercial (may not be provided or
sold to third parties) implementation. This program is ideal for
corporations that wish to provide access to 25 or more employees
at a substantial savings.

Audit, Advisory and Consulting Service License

When content from COBIT 5 books is used in tools, guidance
or other works for commercial (not internal) audit, advisory and
consulting services, an annual license from ISACA is required
unless the purchaser is an ISACA member. This does not apply
to software tools that are sold commercially, which requires a
commercial software license (see below).

Commercial Software and Tool Developers

When content from COBIT 5 books is used in software products
sold or given to third parties, a license is required. Please contact
ipinfo@isaca.org for more information.

SINGLE PRODUCT LICENSE FOR COMMERCIAL & INTERNAL USE: A

single product license for COBIT 5: The Framework; COBIT 5:
Enabling Processes, COBIT 5 for Information Security, COBIT 5
Assessment Programme, COBIT 5: Implementation is available for
US $7,200 (annually).

UNLIMITED COMMERCIAL AND INTERNAL USE LICENSE: For companies

producing multiple products that incorporate one publication or all
COBIT 5 books, an unlimited commercial license is recommended.
This license will provide internal access to all COBIT 5 books and
authorize the inclusion of any or all COBIT 5 books for commercial
products offered to end users. An Unlimited Commercial and
Internal Use License is available for US $50,000 (annually).

Academic InstitutionsDegree-granting
Colleges and Universities
When content from COBIT 5 books is used in training and
education programs offered by degree-granting colleges or
universities, a license is required. To be eligible, the academic
institution must offer an education curriculum culminating in
the achievement of an associates degree or higher. Academic
institutions may be granted permission to use materials in the
classroom by contacting ipinfo@isaca.org.
