Can you believe its already 2015? We hope you had a great break and enjoyed some family time.
Heres your list of whats happening this week . . .
1.Report cards were sent home on December 19. Please sign and return those ASAP.
2.Please restock your childs pencil supply.
3.With winter approaching, you might want to consider being added to the

4.We are currently collecting for the African tribal mask reverse field trip in February.

students working in class for three days with a nationally acclaimed artist and materials
fees. If you cannot pay online, please return a check made payable to WLMS for $25. In
order to be able to bring this artist in, it is important that each and every
childcontribute. If you wish to divide the $25 into a couple payments, you are welcome
to do so.
5.LANGUAGE ARTS: Students will be working on benchmark review the first part of this
week. Benchmark testing will be given in class Thursday through Tuesday. We will go
to the library on Tuesday. There is no reading log or Article of the Week this week.
6.MATH: Test corrections for the ratio test have been completed. Students will bring
home tests tonight. Those need to be signed and returned tomorrow. We will be
reviewing for the second quarter benchmark the first part of the week. Students will
need to bring headphones to class on Wednesday. The benchmark will be given in class
Thursday through the following Monday.
7.SCIENCE: We will be continuing our study of plate tectonics, with a quiz next Monday,
January 12. Thank you for your generosity in signing up to help with donations of lab
supplies for our edible labs. Please send in supplies by January 7. There are a couple
spots open. Here is the sign-up sheet if you can help

received, we will complete the first of our four fun-filled labs in class on Friday. This lab
is called Graham Slam and is about plate boundaries.
8.SOCIAL STUDIES: Students will review and take the second quarter benchmark in
class on Wednesday. Students will begin the unit on Islam later in the
week. A flipbook on the Five Pillars of Islam will be completed in class. Students will
participate in the Geo Bee (geography) on Friday. Our team winner will advance on to
the school competition on January 17 in the media center.
