Constitution Attachment:

Meetings

Meetings will be held Mondays at 5:30


Something saying Sigma Society MUST be worn before and during meetings
day on Mondays unless it is prohibited by your place of employment
Any color denim, dress pant, skirt, or dress (with a pin) are permitted
No sweatpants or running shorts are to be worn on Mondays
Sigma bags, jewelry, and hats are NOT considered proper sigma attire
Leggings are prohibited except in addition to a dress or skirt, wearing leggings
with a regular t-shirt or longer shirts will not be considered acceptable attire
The top layer of clothing that is seen most often should either be of sigma attire
or your sigma pin needs to be worn
This excludes heavy winter coats

Absences:
You must fill out a form on our website (http://nwmsusigmasociety.wordpress.com/). If less than
48 hours before the meeting/event you must fill out a form AND contact the correct chair
in charge:
Meetings: Marg Eliason
Fundraising: Rachel Kortkamp
Service: Jeannie Schleip or Mikaela Campbell
Recruitment Events and/or Pledge Meetings: Alycia Drost or Lilly White
Homecoming Events: Rachel Weinberg or Courtney Inlow
Bridal Show: Alexis Forbes or Tanner Lewey
Over 48 Hours from the time of the event: You must find a replacement and fill out an
absence request form available online through the Sigma Society website. Both the
absentee and the replacement need to contact the correct chair. If it is over 48 hours in
advance emailing the chair with this information is acceptable, but an absence request
must be filled out and turned in as well.
Less than 48 Hours from the time of the event: You must contact via phone only. NO
texting. Anything within 48 hours MUST be a phone call. If no answer, LEAVE A
VOICEMAIL MESSAGE. An absence request form must still be filled out to document
the reasoning for your absence. If the reason for missing is not due to illness or
emergency, the active is responsible for finding a replacement for the event.
Signing up for events:
If you do not go at the time in which you sign up it is a strike, unless the time
switch was approved by the appropriate chair before the switch took place
Signing up for a committee is the same as signing up for an event, you will
receive a strike if you do not participate in a committee you sign up for

Service:
20 hours of service are required each semester
Signing up for an event is a commitment that you will show up at the correct time. If
you can no longer show up for your time, you need to find a replacement and both
you AND your replacement must contact the service chairs to let them know the
switch must be approved
o If you do not show up for an event that you committed to OR show up more
than 5 minutes late and/or at the wrong time, you will receive a strike
Regarding mandatory service events:
o An absence form must be turned in at least 48 hours in advance
o Within 48 hours of notice, service chairs MUST be contacted via phone call
only; leave a voicemail if necessary, NO texting or email. An absence form will
still need to be turned in to have the reason for the absence documented in
writing.
Regarding service journals:
o Journals must be turned in on the specified due dates, special arrangements
need to be made if you are unable to attend the meeting (whether with the
service chairs or another Sigma executive member) Otherwise, a warning will
be issued
o For service not offered through Sigma, a signature and contact information
MUST be provided by the person in charge, this cannot be another Sigma
member that attended with you.
o Please have completed service events in chronological order and do not write
down events unless you have already participated in them
o Please total your service hours
Service done for family members will not be accepted
