Managing People and Organisations

Unleashing Human Potential for Continuous

Organisational Success
The 21st century has been marred with one organisational scandal (e.g., Enron) following
another (e.g., the Merck Vioxx incident). If there were any doubts on this issue they seem to
have been laid to rest in the wake of the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. The evidence is
overwhelming that organisations are being managed poorly with devastating effects on
the well-being of people and the environment. As a Harvard Business School Professor
Shoshuna Zuboff put it, "The old solutions have become the new problems". If this be the
case then what are the "new" solutions to managing people and organisations that can
combine performance with principles?
In this programme, we will tackle this question by introducing most recent seminal ideas on
transforming individuals and organisations being practiced by leading organisations
around the world. Using these ideas we will traverse key topics in managing people and
organisations, particularly those dealing with creating transformative, trust-based, and
values-driven organisational cultures that bring out the positive energies existing naturally
within people. At the end participants will be programmes equipped with a new paradigm
in management thinking that holds the promise to unleash human potential in their
organisations transforming them into thriving workplaces of excellence.
Drawing on current research, the programme provides concepts and frameworks directly
applicable to workplace scenarios.
