Greetings One and All,
Feelings of excitement associated with great expectations are in the atmosphere all because plans
are progressing to celebrate OUR Harris Family heritage. Inspiration for this celebration is the
FOUNDATION laid by our fore parents Mr. Simmie Harris, Sr. & Mrs. Irma Horton Harris
and built upon by Annie Mae, Mable, John T., Earl, Alex, Dorothy, Simmie, Jr., Doris, Alice, &
Edom. That same foundation is currently maintained by YOU & I; soon to be entrusted to our
children & hopefully preserved through the ages with tender loving care by their offspring.
Come on, Get energized, Get on board, and Get your family group/individual family history
ready!! Lets come together in Bastrop, LA on June 12th, 13th, & 14th, 2015, for a true Harris
Family Affair.
(A Harris Family Affair not just another FAMILY REUNION)
The objective of this gathering is to reinforce the foundation of the Simmie & Irma Harris
legacy. To reacquaint/introduce new additions; forgive & forget past misunderstandings;
reignite/ fuel the spirit of harmony & family love; share information/document family history so
that future generations will have accurate heritage facts. Last but certainly not least, To have an
old fashioned, down home, GOODTIME WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS..
Spiritual petitions are being made continuously for the results of this endeavor to yield a display
of cooperative harmony, mutual respect & desire for continual fellowship within the Harris
family, so that all who witness it will speak for generations to come of its positive effects.

For this cause, we eagerly anticipate your being there in 2015 when all of the Harris
Blessings come together This much anticipated Harris Family Affair will NOT be complete

General Information
Cost associated with attending this three day event on June 12th, 13th, & 14th, 2015 per person
(family member, friend, etc.) six years old & above is $30.00 (thirty- dollars) each/per person.
(Children 5 years old & below free). NO EXCEPTIONS, NO REFUNDS, NO DIVISION OF
DATES/EVENTS. Funds will be secured at Shreveport Federal Credit Union in Bastrop, LA.
Cash & Money Orders accepted. NO checks please. Make money orders payable to Harris
Family Reunion 2K15 You may R.S.V.P. your attendance by remitting 1/3 of total amount due
(at least $10.00 for each person who wish to participate). Deadline for deposit(s) is Sunday,
August 31, 2014. Remaining balance must be paid in full by Sunday, March 15, 2015.
Registration fees may be paid in full or in partial payments. You may give your payment to any
committee member (listed below) or you may mail payments & registration form(s) to P.O. Box
1507 Bastrop, LA 71221. (see enclosed registration form)
Commemorative t-shirts will be made, but additional fees will be assessed if you choose to get
one. Sizes: Youth Xsmall Large is $8.50; small X-large is $8.50 and sizes 2X & up is
$10.50 (see enclosed T-Shirt form for your purchase)
A planning committee has been established. Member names and contact information is listed
below. Two open planning meetings have taken place to date. It should be noted date/time/place
of meetings were published in advance. Committees were named via attendance. Next
scheduled meeting is Saturday, September 6, 2014, hosted by Judith Dejournettee & Ireatha
Harris. Location/time TBA. You are encouraged to attend.
The desire for an out of the ordinary celebration; one acceptable to all participants will require a
united effort from everyone. Your ideas, availability, hands-on help & especially your prayers
will be needed to accomplish a positive outcome. More detailed information and request for
various assistance from individual family members will be forthcoming as progress is made. If
you have any questions or need specific clarification please contact one of the committee
members.
