Drilling Engineer

POSITION TITLE:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide detailed well design and engineering to optimize performance and deliver
maximum long term value. In particular, detailed well drilling operations program
generation including contingency plans.
Investigate best practices/learning and incorporate them into design and operational
procedures. Optimize well design in line with cost, functionality and safety metrics.
Evaluate and propose alternative well designs and drilling technologies.
Develop the execution plan for use in Technical Limit activities. Manage technical
input on Drilling well budget for the well including detailed time and cost estimates.
Manage and coordinate service providers input into well planning and operations
activity. Identify and order key long lead items required for well operations.
Coordinate and filter Master Equipment Lists. Facilitate scheduling and procurement
requirements for well operations. Ensure individual well Cost Estimates are prepared
in a timely manner and monitor daily costs while drilling.
Ensure company Code of Conduct awareness and implementation. Identify risk and
develop appropriate risk mitigation plan.
Ensure Company's HSSE and Drilling Policies are incorporated into well designs and
operations.
Delivery of planning according to Company's guidelines within the agreed planning
schedule. Prepare drilling engineering dispensations. Maintain validity of documents
through relevant process.
Coordinate Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) work performed by service
companies. Raise, follow up and close Non Conformance Reports when appropriate
Ensure compliance with well Equipment Assurance Program as required.
Perform and document comprehensive risk assessment for operations. Complete
Risk register matrix and close all actions prior to planned operations

REQUIREMENTS:
-

Bachelors or equivalent degree in an engineering discipline.

Minimum of 5+ years of drilling engineering and operations experience.
Basic to skillful and demonstrable knowledge in the areas of Company Policy,
Procedures Standards and Practices, Cost Management,
Fluent English speaking.
Willing to travel to rig site area.
Familiar with Drilling Rig operations.
