DROUGHT MANAGEMENT
Promoting Organic farming through various schemes like National Project on Organic
farming (NPOF), National Horticulture Mission (NHM), Horticulture mission for NE and
Himalayan states (HMNEH), National project on management of Soil health and Fertility
(NPMSHF), and RKVY.
NPOF financial assistance is provided as back end subsidy through NABARD for setting up of
existing bio fertilizers and pesticides production units and setting Fruits and Vegetables
Wastes.
NHM and HMNEH , financial assistance is provided for adopting organic farming, vermin
compost units, and organic farming certification.
NPMSHF, promotes use of organic manures, assistance for promoting organic farming under
RKVY.
NPMSHF promote soil test based, balanced and judicious use of chemical fertilizers in
conjunction with organic sources of nutrients to improve soil fertility.
Preparation of Geo-Referenced Soil Fertility maps including interlinking of soil fertility
status with Soil test crop response (STCR)
Use of customized fertilizers to promote site specific nutrient management so as to
achieve maximum fertilizer use efficiency. These contan multi nutrient carrier designed
to contain macro and micro nutrients and are soil and crop specific.
Training for farmers on balanced use, Field demonstration with financial assistance

Enhances productivity besides human drudgery and cost of cultivation, helps in utilization
efficiency of other inputs, safety and comfort of agricultural workers.
