Advertisement for Ground Handling Joint Venture Consultant
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is expanding its horizons, and is planning to enter into a Joint Venture arrangement in ground / airport handling for international gateway airports in Bangladesh (i.e. Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet). Biman is, therefore, looking for a Consultant to assist in this process, by both managing and coordinating all aspects of the Joint Venture including preparation of RFP (containing eligibility criteria), evaluation/selection criteria, Joint Venture agreement (criteria for future control/relationship, modalities of determining operating capital infusion, maximizing future profitability and recovery sharing procedure) etc., and also training and coaching Biman teams to manage the Joint Venture efficiently in future. The applicant should meet the following criteria: 1) Minimum of 10 years working experience in a ground / airport service role with one or more major international airline(s) or major ground handling agent(s). 2) Ground service management experience, at a very senior level including experience of managing airports. 3) Experience of managing joint venture / technical cooperation / management contract in the field of ground / airport handling at least with a large, full service airline or major ground handling agent. 4) Experience of working with proven success in difficult working environments outside Europe and North America, preferably in the Indian Sub-continent. 5) Knowledge on all aspects of a joint venture / technical cooperation / management contract, from contract negotiation, through GBR (General Business Rules) determination, to full implementation and post-implementation issues, if any. 6) Proven cross-cultural people management skills. Remuneration package / Fee: Negotiable. The applicant must submit his/her expected on-site fee along with a detailed action plan with timeline. The applicant should also submit separate off-site fee that would be payable against actual requirements / involvements. However, Biman prefers for a total package for the entire assignment. The start date is as soon as possible. Workplace can be partially offsite, with at least one week per month in Dhaka, including the implementation period.
